Grasshopper Hunting

The journey felt boring to Hanum today. On weekends, Kara would usually take him to bed all day. To share and share stories.

But for this weekend, Reksa the grandfather forced them to come to the village when he heard that the granddaughter-in-law was craving fried grasshoppers.

Kara couldn't imagine what would happen next.

The car they were riding in, has now entered a yard of a largest house, but beautiful owned by Reksa.

The house looked very shady and shady, as well as the largest house among the many houses lined up.

The smiles of Ratna and Santika were perfectly tuned right in front of the door. Her face shows happiness.

Kara and Hanum will be down.

Welcomed by two Oma who loved him with all their heart.

God, for a moment this married couple felt jealous of their happiness even though they were no longer young.

"Oh my God. Come on in, baby..."

Santika's soft voice did not change in the least. His tone always melodious in the ears.

"Welcome, dear. Oma's glad you guys wanted to stay here even if it was only last night.

Let's go inside."

Ratna's view turned to Santika.

"Mba Tika, I'll catch up with mas reksa and Luna for a bit".

"Yes, careful. Tell me to go home soon. His grandfather and grandson had always forgotten the time when they had been fishing in the lake".

Santika chuckles lightly when remembering the excitement of those who often forget time. However, she would be very happy if her husband always came home with a catch of fresh fish to cook himself.

"Yes, okay".

After Ratna passed away, Santika immediately led Hanum and Kara to immediately rest in the guest room.

"So, how old is your pregnancy, son?"

Santika asked by opening the entire room curtain.

"Five months, Oma".

A gentle smile could not be separated from Hanum's lips.

Long ago.....

This woman is eager to have a complete family. Unfortunately, he only lives with his mother and brother.

Santika approached and sat down on the edge of the bed like Hanum. Kara just stood in the doorway with her hands crossed in front of her chest. Kara's suitcase, Kara just put it near the closet.

"Oh great. Expand the movement and do not like to laze so that when the flow later, can use the normal way.

But remember, it must be balanced with enough rest as well".

"Yes. Thank you Oma".

"Oh yes, by the way.... Tumben you guys are going to stay here?".

Santika asked a little suspiciously. Because, all this time Kara is very difficult if asked to stay overnight.

"Emh.... Hanum. Yesterday on the phone, opa also forced us to stay here.".

Santika surprised.

Satisfied face but changed ignorant then flashed in the look of his eyes.

"Oh, great. Grasshoppers are animals with high protein. Protein is great for fetal development".

The corner of Santika's eyes glanced towards Kara who was gulping down her hard-earned saliva.

Imagining Kara having to capture the animal that became her enemy, was a very rare moment.

"Eemmm.. I. I went to the kitchen first, Oma.

I'm thirsty". Pamit kara without waiting for the approval of these two women who loved her.

Leaving those two who were giggling amusedly towards him.

Kara swore in my heart. If Hanum is not cravings, Kara will certainly oppose all-out what his wife wants.

*****

"Oh mas, great..... That one, that one.. a little more, a little more come on..ayo again ...".

Hanum thus his spirit to support Kara. Kara was shaking and her face was pale.

In Hanum's hands, three locusts Kara had caught. Imagining having to catch ninety-seven more, making Kara moan inwardly.

'It's hard being a father-to-be'

Unfortunately, that scream, only echoed in the heart.

Not far from them, Reksa and Luna laughed crisply at Kara's tormented face.

"Yes....... Come on mas, come get it".

Hanum cheered in excitement as kara managed to catch one more grasshopper that was quite large.

Whether for the number of times, Kara's fingers felt pain after being hit by a grasshopper's leg kick several times.

"Have you, baby? I tired?".

"Mas, your complaint is inappropriate with your loamy, muscular body. Just got four grasshoppers tired.".

Hanum said without looking into her husband's eyes. His hands were busy stuffing the grasshopper into the small jar he was carrying.

"Oh well, we'll look again".

Kara's steps were thus hesitant down the path in the pea garden owned by mutual. Some of the farm laborers who were in the job of cleaning the garden, greeted Kara and Hanum very politely.

"Mas, I like the beautiful countryside like here. What if every weekend, we'd stay here overnight?".

Kara stopped her steps, looked at her wife for a glimpse then continued her steps by leading her towards a small cottage not far from them.

"Yes, whatever you want. But... That's enough yeah, hunt the trunk."

Kara's breath sounded uncomfortable.

There is a sense of compassion that infiltrates Hanum's heart.

This time, she managed to make her husband look crumpled and messy.

"Yes, we'll be home in a minute. It's a pity we only got four locusts. We'll split the two and we'll eat together".

Hanum's eyes lit up brightly for a moment.

Imagining himself going back to reminiscing about the past by eating fried grasshoppers, making happy bursts in his heart.

"Oh my God...What other trials are these?".

Kara complained blatantly. Hanum beside him was just staring without any sense of sin.

Kara's focus is suddenly stopped by the sound of notifications from her phone. A photo showing Alex and Ridha together makes his jaw harden instantly.
