Anitha's Grief

Rain is pouring down the earth. Time changed days passed. The moon changes without feeling with the busyness of each earth dweller. Now two years is the age of marriage Anitha and Mr. Nan.

And so is Anitha. He was busy drowning himself with his office and home activities. He never complained of being tired of having to play three roles. As a wife, child and career woman.

Anitha and mister Nan were always shoulder to shoulder. So that they remain harmonious in the midst of busyness that is sometimes so dense.

Ajeng and Sahrul were united last year. Once Sahrul out of custody, in just a month they immediately held a marriage contract and only prayed a small amount.

Anitha apologizes to Ajeng for not coming. Anitha weighed many feelings, especially the feelings of master Nan herself. Anitha only gave gifts in the form of a honeymoon to Thailand. As Ajeng wishes.

Although assisted by Anitha and Mr. Nan, he was only able to get out of prison after running two-thirds of his prison term. Even Ajeng has got a baby from Sahrul.

Although Anitha has returned familiar with Ajeng. Anitha kept her distance from Sahrul. Anitha doesn't want any problems with the past let alone the ex.

The lives of her former sister-in-law and mother have vastly improved. Before Sahrul got out of prison, Anitha with her husband's permission opened a small shop to connect life to her two.

Almost everything that this couple worked for was successful. Just getting a baby that hasn't worked for them.

Anitha once cried to Mr. Nan, when she was never pregnant and her mother-in-law asked. Although Mr. Nan's mother never snorted. All because of her husband's warning. Mr. Nan's father reminded him not to interfere in his son's affairs. Especially about the child who is God's right.

Now under the heavens weeping over the earth and its contents, Anitha also sat crying in front of the window of her room.

"O Allah, can you not trust me to have one life for which you are entitled. I'm not ungrateful, but my mother-in-law wants her child to have children."

Mr. Nan is indeed late to come home today. So much business in his company. Anitha tried hard all this time. But once again he failed.

Long Anitha looked at the falling rain. It was as if she was accompanying the tears of Anitha's sorrow.

"Anything I can accomplish this whole time if I want. But this one thing I'm powerless" he murmured bitterly.

Anitha recalled her words with Ajeng some time ago.

Flashback ....

"Come in" said Anitha during the daytime break, her door was knocked.

"What's the matter An?"

"Why Jeng?"

"Again asked and asked back. Why is your face pale? You sick?" Ajeng asked attentively.

"No Jeng. Sit down first."

"There problem? Do you want a story?"

"Nothing." Anitha remained dodgingly.

"Don't lie to me An, you've been pale and uninspired for a week."

"What is it?"

What's so noticeable, I've been wearing make-up to disguise my tired face.

"Sorry An. Are you sad about the child?" ask the teacher carefully.

Anitha looked at Ajeng inside. He took a breath and exhaled violently. Anitha saw the radiance of Ajeng's eyeballs waiting for his answer. Anitha decided to express her sadness to her close friend.

"Am I barren Jeng?" tanyanya tried hard. But her crying escaped.

"The doctor didn't say that. You two are fine. Don't think negatively An." Ajeng strengthens Anitha's fragile heart.

"But until now I haven't been pregnant with Jeng. It was not three years either. You've only had it for a year."

"We don't know the wisdom behind everything An."

"I know, but sometimes my heart can't understand."

"Why not disconnect the tube baby?"

"If that's the case, what else do you have to be as clean as?"

"I was sad when he looked inside at the little boy. But I don't think she's refusing a baby tube."

"We don't know what he's considering. So enjoy it first. Many other couples are longer than you. Decades and even decades."

"Yes I know Jeng."

"Hmmm I don't know if this is a coincidence or if his prayers were granted under the torrential rain. We just try and pray?"

"It's definitely so Jeng."

"How about you try it when it rains? As you say a prayer in it."

"Is that so?"

"try it. There's no harm."

***

Anitha finally wiped her tears. With a slow step he retraced downstairs. Seems the silence hit his house. Signs the residents are asleep.

The new time is 10 o'clock, as heavy rain makes the temperature reconcile to coiling in a blanket.

Anitha stepped onto the front porch. He sat on the park bench in front of his house. The rain began to fill his hair and body. Anitha does not wear a hijab at home. Slowly he was soaking wet.

Slowly but surely his heart became relaxed along with the rain. Anitha offered a prayer. For ten minutes he enjoyed the cold rain. Anitha saw a car light shining into her yard.

Anitha was sure it was her husband. I heard the fence open on its own. Mr. Nan did design the fence of his house using a remote.

As soon as the car approached the park bench not far from the front porch, Mr. Nan was very surprised to see Anitha sitting in the rain. Without waiting for Harri to open the door to give the umbrella, Mr. Nan lured out of the car.

"Dinda why?" mr. Nan pulled Anitha to the veranda of his house. He was so anxious to see Anitha soaking wet. His eyes look as if they are ready even crying.

Master Nan without waiting for Anitha's reply pulled Anitha in and headed for their room. Without waiting any further she pulled Anitha into the bathroom and lit a warm water faucet.

Mr. Nan helped Anitha take off her clothes and then her own clothes. After feeling Anitha's body warmed, Mr. Nan took a bathrobe and dressed Anitha.

She asked Anitha to come out of the room and followed after wearing her towel.

Master Nan saw Anitha sitting on the edge of their bed. He sat next to his wife.

"What's up!" he said there was no softness. Just a firm tone and curiosity.

"Nothing, I just tried that way to get offspring" Anitha said slowly.

But master Nan is also just an ordinary human, so is Anitha. Mr. Nan was lured into a rage at Anitha's thought. Anitha's slow voice sank into her fury.

"How many times have I said, you don't have to think about children. I can accept, or you can't accept me!" Master Nan's voice sounded sharp and crude.

Anitha was shocked and jolted. This was the first time her husband had looked rude and scolded her.

"I'm just trying. Medically what's wrong I tried," said Anitha received her husband's anger. Her heart ached and grew sicker with the clasping of her husband.

"I don't understand the way you think about children. It's like your education is useless!" her husband is still angry.

"Don't talk about education. I'm just trying, where's the fault." Anitha still did not raise her voice. Quite an angry husband, not with her. If anger is equally angry, then the heart will get hotter and the devil easily overwhelms.

"It's wrong you don't think rationally!"

Anitha just kept quiet not to return her husband's words. His heart was tired and now he was sick.

"Do you want a descendant so much?"
