"Where have you been Ali?" Ask Ali's mother gently.
"Mom, I, I'm sorry."
"It's okay, Ali. I forgive you." As calm as a drop of water, softer than a cotton caress, Ali drowned in the ocean sorry a mother.
Ali hugged her mother long ago, listening to every heartbeat that every second threw away the longing.
"Mom, are you sick?" Ask Ali. So worried to see the physical condition of his mother who changed a lot in the last four years.
"No, Ali. You're healthy." His mother rubbed Ali's hair.
"Who is this medicine for?" Ali pointed at a plastic bag.
Drawn so heavily he uttered, "Neli."
Ali sat beside her mother, her face full of worry and shock. Her mother looked at her with tearful eyes, trying to find the strength to tell Neli's circumstances. Ali felt an uneasy tremor within him, not knowing what he was going to hear.
With a trembling voice, Ali's mother began to tell her, "Ali, Neli's situation is very bad. He fell into the world of drugs and almost lost his life. I. I don't know what to do. I miss her every day and pray that she can get the help she needs."
Ali beside her mother, her face was full of worry. He looked at his mother with curiosity and guilt. "Mother, I was really surprised to hear about Neli. How did this happen?" ask her in a voice full of anxiety.
Ali's mother, who looked tired and sad, wiped her tears gently. "Oh, Ali, I'm sorry. I've been trying to find you all along. Neli is entangled in drugs and getting worse. I wish I didn't handle everything by myself" her mother said in a sad tone.
Ali felt a tightness in his chest upon hearing that explanation. He pondered for a moment, trying to remember his last moment with his little sister whom he loved. Guilt also covered his heart. "Why did he get to that? Why can't I try to find out my family once!" he murmured in the heart. He was so angry with himself. “Truely said the people who were gossiping and making fun of me. I'm so useless!”
Ali's mother saw the uneasiness emanating from Ali's face. Gently, he took Ali's hand and looked at her affectionately. "Ali, I know you feel guilty, but it's not your fault. Neli himself is entangled in this drug circle. I also felt like I didn't know anything all this time" his mother said in an understanding voice.
Ali clasped her mother's hand tightly, trying to calm herself down. "But, mother, how's Neli doing now?" ali asked with an unstoppable curiosity.
Ali's mother took a deep breath before replying. Her tears flowed back as she told me about Neli's struggle. "Ali, Neli struggled with drug addiction for several years. I've been trying to get him to some rehab center, but he's always running away. I feel desperate, Ali. I'm afraid I'm going to lose her" her mother said in a sobbing voice.
Ali felt full of empathy for her mother. He understood the feeling of confusion and despair his mother felt. However, behind that sense, there was a fire burning in Ali's heart. Ali knew that she had to do something to help her sister.
"You know who took Neli down that perverted path?" Ask Ali. If he knew who he was, Ali would not have forgiven him. Ali intends to search for his existence, even to the end of hell!
"My friend? How's it?"
"It's almost like you are right now. But it's thinner, probably because of drugs. His hair is blood red."
Ali guessed who his friend was like that. He did not know by merely hearing the features, he was waiting for something special from his mother's testimony.
"Everyone can be like you said. Is there nothing more specific?"
"There's some sort of sewing wound on his head!"
There was one person he knew. Very familiar. Ali clenched his hands.
"Mom, don't worry. I'm here now!" He hugged his mother tightly. "I won't let Neli be like that anymore."
Ali entered the care room of her sister, her heart pounding with worry and saddened to see the state of Neli. She was shocked at how different her sister was from before. Neli who used to be so cheerful and beautiful, now looks fragile and skinny. His body was tied to a hospital bed, as a silent witness of the heavy struggle of life.
Ali approached Neli's bed with a heavy heart. He clasped his sister's cold hand, feeling an unimaginable fragility. Tears began to flow down Ali's cheeks as she tried to endure the overflowing sadness. He wanted to give Neli strength and hope, but he himself felt devastated and did not know what to do.
"Neli," Ali whispered in a soft voice, "I'm here with you. I'll take care of you and help you recover. We're gonna get through this together, again."
Ali looked at Neli who was lying weakly, his eyes blank and full of lethargy. He felt how far his sister had been mired into the shackles of the forbidden medicine. Ali feels guilty for having been absent from Neli's life for so many years, unaware of how bad the situation is.
She sat down beside Neli, hugging his body gently. "Neli, I'm sorry" muttered Ali in a regretful voice. "I should be here for you, I should take care of you from this. I promise, from now on, I will be your real brother. I'll help you get through this."
Ali knew that Neli's recovery journey would not be easy. But he swore to himself that he would never give up. He will find every way to help Neli get out of the drug trap and recover his beautiful life, by any means possible. If you need to eradicate the dark world!
Ali walks out of Neli's treatment room with a head full of thoughts about her sister's recovery struggle. However, he was suddenly startled by two large, intimidating men in the hospital corridor. Their faces were filled with suspense and threatening brusque demeanor, before his mother. Looks like they've been talking long enough with Ali's mother. Now that he knew what was going on, even though the sound of their conversation was slow, Ali could hear it.
It's been more than a year since Ali's mother was in arrears of considerable debt. This was unknown to Ali. What is certain is that Ali's mother owed him money for Neli's treatment.
Ali's face turned serious and he took a deep breath to deal with the situation. "Who are you and how much is that debt?" ask her in a voice that remains calm.
