Episode 44

Marco and his family arrived at a Villa where Darwin and Asmira had arrived yesterday. Nadir welcomed their arrival. The atmosphere turned very tense.

“You rest first.”

“Women want to do?” ask Marco.

“There's business for a moment, it's there.” Martha pushed on her husband's body.

Jessica sat in silence. Asmira approached and sat down next to her. Asmira began to tell me that she knew all about it when she returned yesterday, when she was pilgrimages to the tomb of her parents.

“Two months have passed, Mira. Only now do I know.” Jessica said with a blank look. Jessica put a cynical smile on her face.

Martha was silent as they both spoke, the one who felt the most guilty in that position was herself. All the cause of the chaos was him.

“This is all wrong Aunt Jess,” said Martha.

“What does this have to do with Auntie?” jessica asked coldly without looking at Martha.

Martha said that if she had caused all that to happen. If she hadn't traded her baby for Sukma's dead baby, Jessica wouldn't have felt it all.

Jessica was very surprised to hear the words coming out of the mouth of parents who she considered already like her own mother.

“What?” jessica asked in disbelief.

"If Sukma's mother's son dies, who is my mother?" ask Jessica again.

Martha told me at length about her meeting yesterday with a Khodijah bik and how she exchanged her baby for a dead Sukma baby. Martha also shared why she changed her baby. Martha held back her tears until she finished telling the story.

“Tante wishes you a Aunt,” Martha told Jessica.

Without answering a word Jessica ran inside, as she entered she passed Valen at the door. Valen was standing at the door, hearing all of Martha's stories from the beginning.

Martha was surprised to see Valen standing at the door. Martha asked when she had been standing there. Valen knew exactly where Martha was going, saying he would not tell anyone about the secret he had heard.

“Not yet Marco knows Valen.” said Martha sadly.

Asmira felt increasingly guilty, this was what she feared. They were fine all this time, never even fought, Jessica was so fond of him from childhood all the needs and desires Asmira always filled Jessica.

But now Jessica must hate him, but all the sad feelings he endured he did not want Darwin to know.

Valen approached Jessica in her room, knocking on the door repeatedly. Jessica did not open the door to her room. Valen continued to call out to her, sounding Jessica's voice screaming from her room.

“Mas give me time.”

“Open the door Jess .. I just want to hug you, won't ask anything until you yourself are willing to tell me,” Valen said seriously.

Then Jessica opened the door, Valen hugged her tightly as if she understood what Jessica was going through right now, she stroked Jessica's hair and cupped Jessica's cheeks with her hands, saying,

“You are not alone I have always been here with you,” Valen said.

Jessica slid her body on the bed she cried fondly considering the bad luck that always befell her. He had just breathed a breath of fresh air enjoying his freedom after the divorce he and Hardi had finished. Now another problem approached him.

“Mas, stay with me first. And don't put too much hope on me,” Jessica said in between her tears.

“I don't understand what you're saying Jess" Valen said with a confused face. Just a few hours ago he said 'Yes' but now he says otherwise.

“Until anytime you won't understand Mas!” jessica screamed a little.

“But I love you Jess,” Valen said.

Jessica's cry became even more so, Valen hugged her tighter and tighter.

“I don't care how your past, all I know now I love you and Sara needs you!” valen said firmly.

Asmira has no time to talk to Jessica, she always shies away from her. After yesterday's incident, it seemed like all his anger was directed against Asmira. Asmira was very sad to receive treatment from her brother.

“Mbak .. don't make me like this,” pinta Asmira.

Her night.

Sara was chatting with Jessica in the living room, Martha approached them.

“Darling, can Aunt talk to your Mommy for a minute?” ask Martha. Sara nodded then she immediately went into her room.

Martha sighed, Jessica's attitude towards her was so cold. Martha began to open her voice by saying that Jessica did not continue to blame her sister who had nothing to do with the problem.

“Not aunty business!” jessica was rude when Martha finished saying.

Martha fell silent as Jessica said it was none of her business and also Martha did not know anything better not to interfere too far.

“Tante does not know anything, but ..”

“But what, a mother who has already dumped her own baby?” Jessica interrupted Martha's conversation with words that hurt in Martha's ear. Martha cried to Jessica's words.

“Luckily I'm not a Auntie child, if he was I would not be willing to have parents like Auntie,” Jessica said again.

Jessica's words were so sharp, like a knife that pierced Martha's heart. Martha could only cry over every word that came out of Jessica's mouth. So will the response of her own biological children if they meet, thought Martha.

Asmira ran up to them, she hugged Martha. Asmira is furious at Jessica's treatment of Martha. But instead of caring, Jessica's anger became increasingly towards the two.

Asmira lamented Jessica's disrespectful attitude. However, Martha's mistakes in the past that she has done but not her right to judge Martha like that.

Martha could only cry in Asmira's arms, what Jessica said was true. Whatever the reason, she threw away her own baby.

“Gara-gara Aunty, I do not know who my own parents are..” cried Jessica vent all her anger on them.

"Tante wishes you were Aunt's son" said Martha.

"I don't feel like there's an inner bond between us" Jessica said.

But Asmira did not mengubris again every word that Jessica said. Asmira takes Martha inside, leaving Jessica alone in the guest room. Martha was shocked by the situation.

Next day.

Sara took Jessica for a walk by bicycle, just walking around the park area. Suddenly Sara stopped, Jessica kept paddling her bike as she looked back she saw Sara stop.

“Honey, come?” take Jessica.

“Mom, the kek mang Joni try Mommy clay,” pinta Sara call her Mommy.

“Udah come, where might mang Joni come here,” invite Jessica.

After a week of vacation, now they resume their usual activities. Jessica's different attitudes toward Asmira and Martha are known to Marco, but he is reluctant to ask about what happened between the women.

Jessica was in her room. A week had passed but he could not forget the slightest incident yesterday. He looks at his past. It is only right after his mother did not have a different attitude towards him.

Jessica came out she did not see anyone in the house looking so lonely, she called out to Mang Joni and told him to drive her back to her hometown.

Mang Joni who has been there he knows very well the way. They arrived at the house of his son Bik Khodijah.

Jessica immediately went down and knocked on the door and did not forget to say hello. Then came out a woman who was none other than the son-in-law of Bik Khodijah himself. Jessica immediately asked about Bik Khodijah as soon as the woman asked what was necessary.

“Sorry mom, mom died a month ago,” said the woman.

Jessica cried to hear that Bik Khodijah was gone, people who were willing to take care of them from childhood, even when Jessica was unable to pay anymore salary, she remained faithful to hold the trust of Sukma.

Bik Khodijah had saved his life from a depraved man who at that time he thought his own father, he almost raped repeatedly by his father even when he was drunk he had time to say that Jessica was not his son, he was almost raped repeatedly by his father, but Jessica thinks it's just because her dad's drunk.

In fact, what his father said was true, even once he took a knife wanted to stab Jessica if he did not want to serve his lust. Bik Khodijah always managed to thwart his father's perverted plan
