In the room of one of the local food and processed based companies, there is an interview with a woman who is applying for a job. Already there are 4 men in front of him who are currently giving questions to the woman.
"My name is Andini Wirajaya, I am currently eighteen years old. My last education, a graduate of Junior High. Right now, I just live alone with my mother. My father died three years ago."
Such is the introduction given to answer directly some of his questions. In addition to other participants, only Andini who look less attractive. The 4 people started whispering doubtfully.
"Look, miss. As you already know, the sure requirement to be able to work in our company is to be highly educated. But unfortunately, we cannot accept you who are only Junior High graduates. Although the completeness of the application letter here has been written that you are very accomplished during Junior High, with a heavy heart we still cannot accept you. Please don't blame us. You can leave, lady. Thanks." One of the 4 people explained it with a unanimous decision.
Andini also stood up from where she sat and gave greetings when she was about to leave. As he left the company office, he did not ignore his feelings at this time very sad. Looking anywhere, the results remain the same. Trying to work in a large company that only capitalizes on Junior High graduates.
"Ah, seriously ! I have to go to the bookstore soon." Andini hurried away.
Arriving at a very simple Bookstore, Andini began to prepare for work. He has been working for 3 years to cover his daily needs. But the wages that can be not much because the place works not so many buyers.
"Have you come, Andini ?" A 53-year-old woman came to Andini.
"Yes, Mbok Inah." That's how you called the store owner.
"As usual, bbok. Not accepted." With a face that was covering her sorrow, Andini tried to smile.
"Oh, yeah. Andini, after you've finished work today there's something you want to say to me." Mbok Inah said it with a sad face.
"Good, mbok." Andini who heard the words from Mbok Inah answered with a smile. However, he knows that what Mbok Inah will say is not a good thing for him.
Mbok Inah also went to another room, while Andini continued his work guarding the store. As usual, the store was empty with no buyers. With a lot of free time, Andini used to clean books from dust. He also read every book and never got tired of reading it again and again.
Time passed quickly too. It was late in the afternoon and the shop was closing soon. Andini berberes - done though not much will be resolved. After finishing, Andini also approached Mbok Inah.
The two of them started to sit facing each other. The atmosphere became silent as the two of them did not say anything. Andini and Mbok Inah just bowed for a long time.
"Andthis." Mbok Inah started the conversation to end the silence.
"Yes, mbok." With his head still down, Andini answered him.
