The Supreme Magic Throne

The Supreme Magic Throne
Chapter 1 The Burning Pole

Thick smoke billowed, so that each breath could make a sound like a rough gust, as if the throat and lungs were burning, and Billy's consciousness began to blur.

"No, you can't fall asleep, this way you'll die."

"Conscious, must remain conscious."

The endless deep red color dimmed, eroded by the dense darkness. Billy is like a drowning man, struggling to help himself float back to the surface and get rid of this dark darkness.

Suddenly, a small red light lit up in front, like the sunrise in the morning.

Exposed to the beam of light, Billy felt he had regained a bit of his strength, then tried to approach the red light.

When Billy takes this step with the help of light, the light slowly becomes brighter, changing from red to pure white, destroying the dark hole and fading away in an instant.

"Hhhh." Billy suddenly woke up in a sitting position. He gasps. It turned out that he dreamed of a terrible fire, and before the fire spread wide, he fainted from inhaling too much smoke. He could only wait in despair until the flames spread widely, just like the nightmare he had experienced before. He knew he was dreaming and he was trying to break free, but he couldn't control himself. He could not exert even a little strength..

This dream feels amazingly real to make Billy have a prolonged fear. But once he realized it was all just a dream and there was no fire around him, Billy was sitting languidly on the mattress while closing his eyes.

Slowly, his rapidly beating heart stabilized and he found his spirit again. He recalled that he was in a hurry for his graduation thesis in the reading room of the school library all night, so laughed at himself, "Some of these days have always lived a life of disorderly staying up late, he said, pantesan's a nightmare."

But when Billy looked in front of him and was about to pack a reference book and return to the bedroom, an unimaginable strange sight hit his mind like a giant hammer, leaving him suddenly stunned.

There were no beautiful wooden tables in the library, no reference books piled up in a mess, no paper drafts ready to be put into a computer, only a tattered dark blanket, no paper, and this blanket covered his body.

The seat he was sitting in was not the back seat of the library, but a narrow wooden bed.

"Where is this?"

Although Billy is a bit introverted and shy, and his reaction is not fast enough, he soon realizes that something is wrong. Even if the dream fire was a reality, and he's been delivered to the hospital, but still this place doesn't look like a hospital.

His heart stiffened, he hurriedly looked around, and hurriedly stood to the side according to reflex.

As soon as he stepped on the ground, Billy felt his weak body so that his feet could not support him. As a result, he fell to the floor with extreme dizziness.

Billy stretched out his hand and rested himself on the bed to stabilize his body. His face was pale and his mind was agitated. He had been observing his extremely unfamiliar surroundings. A dilapidated and narrow hut. In addition to the wooden bed next to it, there was only a wooden table that could collapse at any time, two benches that were still in fairly good condition, and a hollow chest, which had a hole, and on the other side of the fragile wooden door, there was a stove whose original color was no longer visible. A crock hanging above. The firewood under the stove had long been extinguished, so the room temperature was quite low..

Everything is so foreign. Billy has absolutely no idea where he is, and this feeling of weakness makes it hard for Billy to think.

"Actually where is this?"

"It was as if my body had just recovered from a serious illness, much like the feeling of pneumonia that just disappeared while I was in high school."

Question after question came to his mind, but Billy had never experienced anything so strange like this. His closed personality left him clueless as to what to do next, and a huge panic rippled out quickly.

The only thing to be grateful for was that nothing bad had appeared, allowing Billy to take a few deep breaths and slowly calm his panic. At this moment, a loud voice suddenly sounded from outside the hut:

"Burning witches, Aderan's church will burn witches"

"All let's go."

"We're burning that damn evil witch."

Two emotions of fear as well as the opposite excitement clearly mixed can be felt from the strange accented voice. But it made Billy disturbed, panicked, and curious, and muttered, "Witch? What world is this?"

As a novel-loving adult, a vague premonition of evil appears in Billy's heart. But before he had time to ponder, the fragile wooden door was suddenly knocked by someone. A twelve to thirteen year old boy rushed in.

"Sister Lucian." The short brunette boy in a linen shirt saw Billy standing by the bed feeling both delighted and surprised, "You're up already."

Looking at the clothes that were different from modern style, Billy nodded his head stiffly, and a ridiculous thought appeared in his mind, "Lucian, witch, church, burning alive, burning, lest I cross space and time into the dark ages of medieval Europe hunting witches."

Things always go in a bad direction, Murphy coldly reminds Billy, the boy's hair color and the dirty linen outfit he's wearing all confirm what Billy was thinking. While the language the boy spoke, Billy's body could instinctively understand and seemed to be able to use it as well, but he was still far from being a linguist so he could not identify the language.

As if it was no wonder to see the dreamy Billy, the boy with some black and gray stains on his face said, "Mom always doesn't believe me, and quietly cried in the middle of the night until his eyes swelled up. He kept mentioning poor little Evans, just like Brother Lucian who seemed to have been buried."

"Dad couldn't take it anymore, so asked the bad boy from the Simon family to send a letter to Wayne's house early in the morning, and asked brother to find a way to go home just once. He was already an apprentice knight, so the doctor did not dare to make an outrageous price in front of him."

Speaking of his brother being an apprentice knight, the little boy said as he raised his chin slightly, as if very proud.

"However, they lost and I was right, where maybe something bad happened to Brother Lucian."

As he spoke, he grabbed Billy's arm: "Yuk Brother Lucian, we go to the church square to see the witch burn. It's the wicked witch who got you arrested by the church guards and interrogated all night."

At this time, Billy, who wanted to reflect on his life changes, did not want to follow the little boy to church. Plus burning someone alive to death was completely still unacceptable to Billy. Unable to stop him, it would be best not to watch him, but the boy's last sentence surprised Billy, meaning, "This witch is related to him."

So Billy changed his mind. He immediately suppressed his shock and let the little boy pull him running towards the church of Aderan.

Along the way, Billy takes the opportunity to see the people who go to Aderan's church.

The weather is warmer, so men generally wear linen tops with short and narrow sleeves, trousers of the same color and heels, without heels, while women wear a single long dress with a large pocket in the middle.

Most are brunettes and brown-eyed, but there are also blonde hair, red hair, black hair, blue eyes, red pupils, etc. Nice and rational face.

“What is really the Middle Ages?” Billy looked at himself, the same linen jacket, the same trousers, and the same shoes as well.

There were already a lot of people around the square. The little boy pulls Billy and runs while avoiding the passersby. He continued to try to reach the front area of the crowd until it made many people look here angrily. But since this was the church square, they did not dare to beat up these two little rascals.

After trying for a long time, Billy's eyes suddenly opened, and it turned out that they had already reached the very front area.

There was a wooden cross in the center of the square, with a beautiful woman in black robes and in her twenties tied there.

The people around continued throwing stones, wood, even spitting at the black-robed woman. The mixed sounds of the makian make the atmosphere very noisy.

"Thank you this fucking witch."

"Based on the witches hiding in our Aderan district, you must have tried to harm us, right?!"

"My poor little Tracy died a few months ago, it must have been you! Oh my poor little Tracy."

Despite being beaten, the black-robed woman tightly covered her thin pale white lips, and made no sound at all, but simply looked at the people standing on the steps of the church like statues.

The leader was a large white-robed middle-aged man with gold ornaments, a white hat, and a circular badge with a white cross on it. He watched quietly, not speaking, yet looked solemn. There were also a few white-robed men and women standing around looking clean, tidy, with reddish faces, which was a stark contrast to the poverty and filth in the square.

Behind this white-robed man, stood a line of guards wearing silver-gray chainmail and looking gallant.

The middle-aged man took out something in the form of a pocket watch and looked at it. Feeling that it was almost time, he took a step forward and raised the round badge with one hand.

Immediately, the angry, hateful, and noisier people in the square suddenly became calm at the same time.

There was only the sound of wind blowing through the clothes in the entire square.

Billy was surprised. Even in modern times, to achieve this level of compliance and conditioning, it takes at least several months of training. However, these seemingly poor ordinary people, how could they do so?

The middle-aged man was holding a badge, although his voice was small but spread throughout the square, "Poor Pendosa, you've been tricked by the devil. Delusions to obtain evil forces, from bodies to souls filled with dirt, only light can purify you. This is God's punishment and God's gift, and God's forgiveness for his lost servant."

"Burn him to death, burn him to death." The poor people around were calm, suddenly shouting in unison.

The scene made Billy shudder. If one knows that he is crossing space and time, the next victim to be burned alive at the stake may be Lucian, whose soul is believed to be occupied by an evil demon.

“Before sanctifying you, representing an all-tolerant and merciful God, let me ask you one more thing, are you willing to repent? Sincere repentance can completely purify your soul and allow you to enter the kingdom of heaven where God lives,” The middle-aged man asked gently and with sympathy.

The black-robed lady suddenly laughed out loud, her voice shrill and piercing: "I pursue the truth of magic, not the god of truth. Just burn me to death, I will see the destruction of this sinful kingdom of heaven in fire, and watch this beautiful church crumble."

"Crazy people!"

"Truly evil!"

"The bishop's favor was instead exchanged for a curse. The witches who have been blinded by this demon deserve to die."

"Burn him!"

The bishop said nothing, but the poor people around him started to go crazy.

For the first time in his life, Billy was in a fanatical and senseless atmosphere. Shocked, he could not help himself and thought, "This Middle Ages of Europe are dangerous."

"Wait, if there's no pile of wood, how can you burn that witch?"

Although he felt pity and intolerance towards the black-robed woman, Billy did not dare to do anything, as the crowd that each threw a single stone might be able to kill him.

The bishop prayed a few words, and his voice became louder without the slightest emotion, "Pendosa, then you will go to hell in the purification of the Holy Light."

The cross badge in his hand suddenly exploded into a bright light that was so dazzling once, to the point that Billy's eyes could see nothing.

The bishop seemed to hold a small sun in his hand, solemn, grand and holy. Everyone including the little boy beside Billy lowered their heads and prayed while praising silently.

The light gathered and shot towards the blue sky. When it reached the height of the dome, the light fell back and hit the cross.

A red flame as high as one adult lit up, surrounding the black-robed woman.

He laughed out loud and cursed furiously,

"I will see this sinful kingdom of heaven destroyed in the blaze."

"I will see this beautiful church crumbling in flames."

"I will see you perish forever in the flames."

The sad voice was endless, and the black-robed woman and her pole were burnt to ashes.

Billy had become dazed ever since the badge had exploded into a blinding light.

"It's not medieval Europe."

"It's a world with real magic."

"And my name is Lucian."
