The Substitute Bride of my Best Friend

The Substitute Bride of my Best Friend
Let's Know the Flavor!

A few days after Zahira's departure to Cianjur, Shaka's life felt empty as if half of the man's soul had gone somewhere far away.

Shaka had just walked into his apartment and got a quiet and dark atmosphere. One by one the lights turn on automatically. His eyes swept around the room that felt different than usual.

"Well, what's wrong with this apartment?" Shaka rubbed his face using the palm in frustration. His head still holds a lot of unfinished work especially the case of Ziva.

"Is it because Zahira isn't here? Why didn't he tell me at all?" Shaka fiddles himself without anyone chiming in.

Shaka is also waiting for news from Zahira. Unknowingly both of them hope one of them gives the news first or just send a short message via the green application. Both Shaka and Zahira are too prestigious to start something until they are tormented by their feelings.

Shaka's cell phone rang from behind his pants pocket. He unlocked the lock screen of his phone and saw if the message was from Zahira or not.

"Not of him turned out." Shaka saw an unknown number calling several times since then, now instead sending a message as well.

"Foreign number but why does he seem to know me?" shaka gumam. The two eyebrows are linked to each other.

["May we meet at a regular cafe?"] That's how the message went into Shaka's cell phone.

A short message came back from the same number.

["Ah, it looks like you deleted my number, Shaka. It's me, Ziva. I'm waiting for you at the cafe, yeah!"]

Shaka clucked in annoyance. He was really tired today and now Ziva is asking for a meeting. Really wasting his energy!

"Tumben once he met. Is there anything she wants to say?" muttered softly while rereading the message that Ziva sent. "Here you go, I'd better meet him at dinner. It just so happens that my stomach is hungry." Shaka moved on and turned the room off. Unlike when they were together, Shaka did not miss his former fiancee at all. He even harbored a longing for the figure of a beautiful woman who was far away there.

The atmosphere of the cafe that Shaka often visited while still with Ziva has not changed much. He started looking for a woman who suddenly invited him to meet.

"Geek!" ziva shouted while waving his hands into the air.

"A lot of people want to see me today" Shaka muttered after seeing Ziva's position. He rushes closer to the place that reminds Shaka of his past. The man took a breath, then exhaled slowly. The youngest of the three brothers tried to control themselves not to get carried away while talking to the ex-lover.

"I don't think you're coming, Shaka," Ziva said after Shaka sat across from him.

"Why not come? It's just a normal dinner, right? So, there's no reason for me to reject your invitation." Shaka turned his head when the menu he wanted to choose was already in front of him.

"You used to order that, I guess it would take two servings at a time if you didn't come." Ziva smiled faintly as if nothing had happened between them in the past.

Shaka twirled the eyeballs lazily. "Thank you" he answered briefly.

Shaka himself could not behave as Ziva is currently pretending to be sweet, and did not forget to smile at the victim. As the injured party, he should not have met Ziva so easily like this. However, he was quite curious as to what purpose the woman had asked him to meet at the cafe Dusk.

"You don't eat?" Shaka asked with his flat face. He started eating early because he was hungry.

Ziva laughed. The woman's right hand grabbed the corner of Shaka's lips. "When you eat, do not lose weight, Ka. Look, there's something left here."

Shaka holds Ziva's arm, stopping the woman's action on him. "Let me!" said the man flat while putting away the leftover food at the corner of his lips.

Ziva bowed his head. The shadows of the past when they were still together danced beautifully in the eye pelupuk. It feels like he is starting to miss the times when they are dating and will meet here. Somehow Ziva vaguely still felt that Shaka still had feelings for him.

"Eat."

Ziva obeys the words of Shaka. The atmosphere between them was cold. The lawyer did not want to make Ziva misunderstand if he did anything excessive, such as inviting him to talk early. He can't do acting as well as his former fiance.

"It feels the same, huh?" ziva said starting a conversation between them.

"Yes, right." Shaka was still focused on eating the dishes that were in front of him.

Ziva looked at the man before him like never before. At the office this morning, the man's attitude was different. "You love your wife?" The question just slid on the sexy ranum lips of the model.

"Freak question!" spiteful Shaka was annoyed without intending to stare at Ziva's beautiful eyeballs.

Ziva smiled faintly. Once again he recalled the memories of when they were still together. In the past, Shaka was so infatuated with the smile of the woman, but now glancing at Shaka did not dare and it made Ziva's heart crumble to pieces like a broken glass thrown then scattered on the floor.

"Ehm .. I don't know why I feel like you're still feeling for me, Shaka." Ziva said frankly and it made Shaka choke on hearing it.

Shaka choked on the steak that had just been cut, then went into the mouth. Ziva had just said something that sounded so ridiculous.

After feeling quite calm, then Shaka answered Zivam's question "So, you invited me to a meeting to discuss it or discuss your case?"

Ziva bit his lip. "That case .. isn't it done? We're gonna win in court, right?" The woman began to shift the subject as she picked up dangerous signals from the lawyer's sharp eyes.

"As you know, I'm still a great, tough lawyer with any case. Now that you're my client, of course I'll try my best to win your case."

The atmosphere begins to heat up a little, Shaka is hooked with memories of his past. Ziva didn't know if the man's reaction would be that cold to her.

"I'm certainly taking you because you're my lawyer, Shaka. But, I just want to meet and thank you."

"Why thank you? You pay me and I do my job, we break even. No one needs to say thank you!"

"Shaka, can't you just act like I used to?" said Ziva quickly.

Shaka stopped the bribe. His appetite suddenly disappeared. The man had no intention of discussing anything other than the Ziva case, but the woman instead discussed another matter.

"Are you working with Irhan to force me to handle your case, huh?" shaka Check. The man's breath was hunting, the chest was deflated. He least likes to bring up the past that makes the wounds in the heart re-tear.

Ziva did not answer. Shaka took a long breath. "Ziva, I really don't want to see you after your case is over. So, please don't bother me anymore!"

"Shaka, wait!" shout Ziva. Next to the woman's hand blocked Shaka's arm.

Shaka brushes Ziva's hand violently, then leaves the woman alone. Actually there were still many things Ziva wanted to say, but the man was not interested in hearing them at all.

"How could he say such strange things? That woman!" snoring Shaka annoyed.

Shaka drove his vehicle at an above average speed. The man's mind was now confused because of Ziva. To Shaka, the woman is just his ex-wife-to-be, nothing more. Shaka has begun to forget the past wounds caused by his former lover and intends to open his heart to Zahira.

"He shouldn't have embarrassed himself like this. That woman ... is so shameless!"

A few hours passed, the streets began to quiet quietly plus Shaka began to sleepy. The impingement after meeting Ziva just by surrounding the city aimlessly.

"Damn it!" muttered Shaka. "Tonight I'll sleep in the car. Going home was useless because there were no stars I met in that apartment." Yes, in Shaka's eyes, Najma Zahira was the star in his heart right now. The stars that shine at night.

Shaka did not get out of the car and chose to sleep in the car greetings. He just parked the car and fell asleep. I didn't realize the phone was ringing again.

"Well not lifted?" Zahira frowned. He is familiar with the attitude of Shaka who sleeps less every day because of his work. It was impossible for her husband to have fallen asleep at this hour.

"And I was a little worried" murmured Zahira.

"What are you doing here?" Nizam came walking towards Zahira.

Zahira nodded weakly. "Nothing" he answered briefly.

"Why? Your husband didn't answer your phone?" guess Nizam when the tail of the eye sees Zahira's phone in his grasp.

"Ehm. Maybe he's asleep."

Nizam mangosteen. "Can be. The profession of a lawyer is no less busy and tiring like a doctor. So you have to be aware of your super busy husband."

Zahira just nodded her head in response.

Nizham seemed to think for a moment. The man was very happy to take time to talk to Zahira in between their busy lives as a volunteer. "It doesn't feel like our job will end tomorrow afternoon. After that it gets busy with routine as usual."

"Doctor Nizam is right. I definitely miss the moment of togetherness with the victims of the earthquake disaster," said Zahira.

I must have missed a time like this, Ra. A moment where there are only the two of us without anyone else bothering.

Shaka, I'm back in Jakarta tomorrow. Just be careful if you forget to pick me up at the hospital. I sunatin your anus a second time, let me know the taste!
