Palaces

The road is so crowded today, the car I drove several times stopped because of the density of vehicles that then go here and there to reach their respective destinations. I kept seeing the clock in my hand, it had been more than 30 minutes we drove, but not yet to the palace as well. Actually the time it takes to get to the palace from my house without any traffic only takes less than 30 minutes. I sat on a pillow that had not changed since I was a child. Mr. Starni sat in front with the driver. I can see Mr. Starni sometimes glanced at me through the mirror that was in front. When caught watching me, he hurriedly took his eyes off the mirror.

After a 45-minute drive, from a distance began to see towering iron fences and several people in uniform and heavily armed were observing the condition of the security around. The closer the Berverus Palace area was, everything began to calm down. Not too many vehicles passed in front of Beverus Palace. The guard is also so tight that only a few cars can pass into the palace area. This palace has 2 pieces of fence, the first is the outer fence and the second is the inner fence. The outer fence area, there are several multipurpose buildings that are often used when there is an event. Meanwhile, the inner fencing area was used as protection against the residence of the King Family. Berverus Palace is one of the palaces that has existed since 1470 AD. The palace was built as a residence for the royal family and was the residence of the founder of Sobraska. Beverus Palace is divided into four parts. Here are the buildings in the palace complex of Beverus along with its functions:

The Neverus Palace, located at the front of the complex facing directly north, is home to the royal nuclear family (King, Queen and his Son/Daughter).

Alverus Palace, which is west of the palace of Neverus, is a residence for the elders of the royal family (Mother Suri, and so on).

Silverus Palace is located to the east of the palace of Neverus and is the palace with the largest building among all the buildings in the complex Beverus, is the residence of relatives of the King (Brother of the King).

Zarius Palace is located south of the Palace of Neverus and is a palace used to perform various activities such as meetings, celebrations, banquets, and so on.

All of the palaces are turned back to each other, forming a flat square that in the middle is filled by a large and magnificent garden. Each palace has its own gate. Therefore, everyone who will enter the neighborhood of Beverus Palace must enter the gate that corresponds to the Palace to be addressed. This means that I can go through the gates of the Palace of Neverus because I am a member of the royal nuclear family, but all this time every entered the neighborhood of the Palace of Beverus I entered through the gate of the Palace of Zarius. I understand, as long as my true identity has not been announced then that's as long as I have to enter through the gates of Zarius Palace. Sometimes I was a little confused by the rules they made, for the sake of keeping me from the paparazzi at the gates of Neverus' palace, they preferred to attract all the servants and people in the Palace that I would pass by later.

Footsteps echoed throughout Zarius' palace. This vast palace looks empty, quiet, invisible a meaningful activity in it. As I said before, this was one of the protocols that the kingdom implemented when I visited Beverus Palace. This is what I don't like about the royal family. They prefer things that are beyond the common sense. Although, their goal is very clear that to minimize the risk of information about me that can come out and endanger the disguise that I have been doing for more than 15 years. 

I rushed towards the palace of Neverus following Mr.'s footsteps. The starni is so fast. I'm sure he walked 2 steps faster than I did. I passed through Zarius's Palace to Alverus's Palace and proceeded to the Palace of Neverus. The border between Zarius's Palace and Alverus and Alverus and Neverus is separated by a large glittering wooden door that marks the door as sprinkled with gems. At the center of the door, there is a symbol of the Kingdom of Sobraska consisting of a cypress tree and a bee. The door opened as we approached it, after arriving at the Palace of Neverus we proceeded towards the 3rd floor using the elevator. Finally we both reached the 3rd floor, and automatically the elevator door opened, revealing a room filled with antiques and luxury. Mr. Starni continued his steps towards a room that was at the end of the corridor. It is clear that the room is a medical room and outside the room there are some people who are sitting while talking. The closer I got, the more I saw clearly the people sitting there and I recognized them all. 

There were 5 people sitting on the sofa in front of which there was a small table with a row of cakes on it. Princess Mona Rafeld and her husband Prince Alberto Raul and their son Prince Expelo Raul. Besides, I saw my stepmother along with my half-sister. The five of them seemed to be talking as I approached them. My aunt immediately memorized and hugged me, I was confused by my aunt's attitude at that time. My feeling became uneasy to see the gazes of everyone who looked at me with a sad look. 

"Yes, your father passed out this morning and is now being treated," replied my aunt as she let go of her embrace. I was surprised by my aunt's reply, but I hurried to the door where my father was being cared for. It was as if my grandmother was talking to some doctors and nurses, after I looked around, I finally saw my father lying on the treatment bed. Seeing my arrival, my father immediately told me to come closer and we embraced. Seeing my arrival, the doctors and nurses rushed to leave me, my father and my grandmother. My grandmother could only watch the activity between her son and father from a distance. He then sat in the corner of the room.

"I'm fine, son, you don't have to worry" he said in an extremely weak voice. I can't answer it, I don't know what to say. Even though my father and I were not very close, I loved him as much as I loved my mother. After all he was still your father and I could not bear to see my father lying weakly on the treatment bed.

"You've come" the voice of my grandmother, Isabel Risel, broke the silence. I tried to find the direction of the voice and it turned out that my grandmother was sitting in the corner of the treatment room. "Come son, I want to talk to you, let your father rest," I let go of my arms and walked over to my grandmother. "I know you must be surprised to see your father's condition, you must be strong!" He stretched out his hand so that I could sit beside him. "I'm just sad why no one told me that dad was sick,""If we tell you first what happened, I'm sure you won't calm down during your trip here."

"Dad's okay, isn't she?"

"Eemm, actually I don't want to tell you, but it seems like the time is right for you to know the truth" I fell silent not knowing what my grandmother wanted to say.

"Your father had stage 4 lung cancer. He is reluctant to tell you because he does not want to interfere with your activities. Then, lately your father's condition is unstable until it must be treated. The public is not yet aware of the true condition of the King." My grandmother's voice sounded soft, holding back tears as she told me what had really happened. I was so surprised to hear my grandmother's explanation, how could I not know something like this. "What's? That's not true, is it?"

"That's right Sweet Heart. I know it's hard, but I want you to prepare yourself for the worst that could happen," 

I could only be silent, I could not cry because I did not want to wake my resting father. I held my grandmother's hand and hugged her. "Dad must be healthy again right, I'm sure the palace has many great doctors who can help my father."

That was the only answer that came out of my mouth. My grandmother didn't answer, she just stroked my hair. After that, my grandmother again said, "I know this is disrespectful, but I would like to ask you to be prepared if at any time we will introduce you as Crown Prince." I immediately let go of my embrace after hearing that.

"I'm sure you're surprised to hear what I'm saying, I just want you to be prepared because once your identity is revealed, your old life will not be the same as it is today. It's for the good of you, your mother, your present life and also for the royal family." I'm not ready to answer anything right now. I could only look at my father and could not imagine the worst thing that would happen in the future. I know that no matter how much I refuse it, no matter how far I avoid it, everything will happen whether it is now, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or some years to come. I just need to prepare it so that when it happens, everything I can get through.
