The end of the second holy war made Valdia the richest noble family in the world. The news of Leo being able to awaken the ice element was heard by the ears of the ice emperor that was lord Haru. he was the only person who could evolve the magic element. Mr. Haru himself sailed straight to Taiyoria which happened to be not too far from Hanaria to meet Leo. Lord Haru offered to become Leo's personal teacher and obviously the ice emperor's offer was accepted immediately. Mr. Haru is willing to become Leo's teacher to pass on his magic because he who is in old age will not live long anymore.
Sure enough, after 1 year of teaching, the ice emperor died and after that, the world assumed that no more humans could evolve the magic element. While the evolution that Leo had done was kept secret for fear of Leo who was still removed from the Valdius family into the seizure of other kingdoms. Leo himself almost mastered all the magic of the teacher. However, after the teacher died, Leo focused more on studying politics, economics, architecture, and other sciences.

Shortly after the death of the ice emperor, an earthquake struck the Taiyoria kingdom. The earthquake destroyed buildings and one of them was the research building where Yukari and the scientists examined the poison fire. Many scientists and alchemists were buried in ruins and one of them was Yukari. Yukari's death was like a payment for Leo's recovery and a heartbreaking destiny for marquis Aiden.
After being recovered from the wreckage, Yukari's body was taken to Valdia without Leo accompanying her. Leo felt lost and his days seemed dark after his mother died. He spent his days in the Edo city library shutting himself in the library for months. Leo spent his time reading Valdius' books. All he did was to escape his mother's death. But the shadow of his mother kept him looking and I don't know how many times he cried.
In Valdia itself, it is almost not much different from Leo. Marquis Aiden also expressed his sadness by shutting himself up and reading the books in his room. He was very sad and wondered about his destiny. He wept shouting at the goddesses Grecia and Cilia about his destiny. In the midst of grief, he concluded that this was all karma for the killing of thousands of people he had committed during the holy war. Slowly the marquis accepted that fate.
While Thalia though in a state of sadness, she can toughen up and accept the departure of the mother. Thalia also misses Leo dearly and wishes him a quick return home before he returns to his education in the capital Gerelia.
