The Return of the Heir (Gleen Fernando)

The Return of the Heir (Gleen Fernando)
Chapter 22

Felicia entered the living room of Milea's house carefully, walking as she pointed the gun forward. However, he stopped stepping, his eyes breaking open when he saw what was in front of him, until his gun dropped to the floor.

"Oh my God, Milea!" Felicia suffocated in shock upon seeing Milea whose body had been hanging above, with a rope tied to an iron window in the living room.

Milea had died with the rope tied perfectly to her neck, and in the condition of her eyes that were still glaring, and her feet did not touch the floor at all. It was as if he had died by suicide.

The instant Felicia's body fell on the floor, her entire body went limp and she was powerless to stand. His body trembled, for the first time he saw that there was someone dead horribly in front of his eyes, moreover that person was so close to him.

Not long after, the sound of an ambulance was heard so loud, Milea's body will be taken to the hospital for an autopsy. Felicia called the ambulance.

Milea's parents soon flew from the Philippines, upon hearing the news of Milea's death.

...****************...

Apparently the autopsy results had confirmed Milea was pure suicide, there were no signs of violence or bruising on Milea's body, and Milea tested positive for drugs.

"drugs? There's no way my son's a drug addict." Milea's mother couldn't believe what she heard about her late daughter, he was furious with a policeman who had declared Milea dead by suicide.

"But the reality is like, Milea's sister is a drug user and it's been positive. She is also pregnant."

Felicia was surprised to hear that, "Milea's pregnant?"

"Yes, Miss Felicia. Your friend has been pregnant for a month." replied the policeman.

Felicia felt increasingly convinced that Milea died not by suicide, if Milea was pregnant, maybe the culprit was the man who impregnated Milea?

"I can't believe Milea killed herself. When I walked into her house, the condition of Milea's house was so messy. I'm sure Milea died of murder, not of suicide. If you don't believe me we check the CCTV footage that's in his house." Felicia looked insistent, she was very sure Milea died from being killed, not from suicide.

"Unfortunately the CCTV in sister Milea's house is broken, Miss." replied the police again, so that not a single piece of evidence led to Felicia's suspicions.

"As for the damaged belongings in sister Milea's house, we suspect that before sister Milea committed suicide, she was depressed by the influence of drugs and also did not accept her pregnancy, so that Milea's sister damaged the things in her house, then she committed suicide. That's why we only found Milea's sister's fingerprints in the house, including on the items she broke." What the police revealed was so reasonable, there was no sign that Milea had been killed by someone.

"Why is CCTV in our home broken? Though two months ago we last in Indonesia, the condition of CCTV in our house was not damaged at all" said his father Milea.

"But it's broken, sir. Please check your own CCTV in your home." replied the police so calmly.

Felicia showed the contents of the chatan between her and Milea to the police who were there, "Milea told me to come to her house, she said there was something important she wanted to talk about. Why did Milea commit suicide? This must have something to do with her lover. How can a depressed person work? Milea was still working."

"Maybe Milea's sister at that time had not been depressed, it could have been at the time of the incident she felt frustrated because of the condition of her pregnancy. Right now we're trying to figure out who Milea's sister's lover is to be questioned. Unfortunately, we had a hard time finding it. Because there are no photos or contents of Milea's sister's chatan with her lover."

Felicia could only sigh, as no one could prove her suspicion. Even Milea's parents choose to believe the police's description and the results of the autopsy, that her daughter actually committed suicide.
