The Martial Peak PT.1
Chapter 15 – Searching for Medicine In The Mountain

After his daily training was completed, he started sweeping, which since absorbed the golden skeleton he could only finish in an hour. After he finished sweeping, he dashed into the Contribution Hall.

Although Kai Yang had decided to go to the mountains to find herbs, he had no knowledge of herbology. He had only heard of the Three Chaos Leafed Spirit Flower and the Dead Jedi Tree Grass, and had no idea what they were like.

Most of his preparatory work for his trip to Black Wind Mountain was done. To avoid an embarrassing situation, Kai Yang rushed to the Contribution Hall to write down the appearance of the herbs.

Originally he was planning to have Treasurer Meng teach him, he did not expect Treasurer Meng to give him a book on herbs instead.

Looking at the book, Kai Yang discovers that he has an introduction to herbs and their medical properties, habitats and illustrations. It will be a disappointment to those who read it. Because it only contained information about ordinary grade potions and there were no potions about higher grade, but it was quite suitable for Kai Yang's current needs.

Just as practitioners were classified into different ranks, so were medicinal herbs, weapons, and medicinal pellets. They were divided into, Ordinary Class, Earth Class, Heaven Class, Mystery Class, Spirit Class, and Saint Class. Each Class is then divided into lower, middle and peak levels.

Luckily the herbs Kai Yang needed were Ordinary Grade, lower grade herbs so they were in books. And since they were low class, their grades were not high.

After leaving the Contribution Hall, Kai Yang went to the General Affairs Office. After all he was still the sweeper of the Sky Tower and this roundabout trip to the Black Wind Mountain would take over a day. He had to ask permission from his job.

The Office of General Affairs did not make it difficult. They gave Kai Yang a three-day leave, with his obligations taken care of he departed …

Black Wind Mountain was only twenty miles away from the Sky Tower on foot. Since it was not far away, Kai Yang often went there to forage, making him quite familiar with the terrain.

On this mountain there are many different plants. But since this was his first time collecting herbs, Kai Yang made sure to be fully prepared. Carrying water, food supplies, a shovel, and his bag, he set off.

Rushing over, Kai Yang came to the Black Wind Mountain and observed the area. The mountain was like a prehistoric monster, lying between heaven and earth. Forcing, with no end in sight, a mountain with its lush forest, jagged ledges proudly stood on the horizon. Standing there, Kai Yang felt a cold gust of wind pierce through his hair.

Within the Black Wind Mountain lived many ferocious beasts. Some high-level ferocious beasts could even make martial practitioners flee without a chance of victory. So generally when people travel to the mountains, they will not go too deep. The first thirty miles are classified as safe zones, the next ten miles are dangerous zones. And the area beyond that, is a life-threatening zone. Basically the deeper you go, the more dangerous it is.

Since Kai Yang was only looking for ordinary low-tier herbs, he didn't need to go too far. So of course he did not have to worry about his safety as he would only search within the safe zone.

It was currently still in the early hours of the morning and Kai Yang was trying to recall whether he had found the potion on his previous trip to the mountain. But it didn't matter whether he had it or not, as he was prepared this time to find they were equipped with knowledge from books.

Thinking back, Kai Yang remembered that there were many potential vegetation spots. In the current situation, he did not even know the location of the medicinal plant he wanted to find.

But filled with anticipation, Kai Yang followed a familiar path to Black Wind Mountain.

After half an hour, Kai Yang saw his first harvest hidden in the bushes next to his path, was a group of Li Chi/Sharp medicinal plants. Harvesting them, Kai Yang put them in his bag and continued his search, thinking to himself this was a good start. Walking down the street, Kai Yang saw various vegetation scattered about, and the memories of the forest came back, informing him of its location. With his knowledge of the Mountain, obtained from hunting, he could accurately create a mental map of where he was in relation to the Sky Tower, preventing him from getting lost. By nightfall, Kai Yang had gathered four types of herbs.

When looking for herbs naturally is very difficult, not to mention that many people like to come here to collect herbs, making it harder to find them. Although Kai Yang had only found four herbs, he was still quite satisfied.

The sun is now starting to set. Rushing over, Kai Yang finally arrived at an area suitable for the growth of many herbs.

This area was very strange, because all of its abundant vegetation had no living existence. Especially for an area of about thirty feet around the medicinal plant area, the soil was completely dead and nothing was growing, not even weeds.

Although in the middle of this desert, there were three bunches of grass. They fluttered in the wind, Kai Yang saw that they were brown, and thought it was just necrosis. But this is just the natural color of the grass.

After looking at it in more detail, Kai Yang recognized them as a kind of potion and with a sigh of relief, rushed over. With a wide smile, he quickly dug it all up.

A short while later, these three herbs were gathered.

As he held onto this potion, Kai Yang took out the herbology book Treasurer Meng had given him before and examined it to see where he had seen it. They are indeed Dead Jedi Tree Grass. Illustration, growth, and the environment all fit together.

The grass of the Dead Jedi Tree grows from dead trees, which makes it easy to find. Basically in the mountains, any place that has dead soil, you can find it growing nearby.

Carefully, Kai Yang put the grass in his bag and took the water and food, then took the water and his food and looked for a place to eat and rest.

This time when he entered the mountain range, his main goal was to find the Three Chaos Leafy Spirit Flower and the Dead Jedi Tree Grass, now that he had found the Dead Jedi Tree Grass, he needed to shift his focus to the Three Leaves Leafy Spirit Flower. Not only did he need to find the Three Leaves Leafy Spirit Flower but he also needed it in large quantities. . Kai Yang decided he had to double his efforts.

Although now, it was already night and the sun had set. This was of course an uncomfortable time to search for potions so Kai Yang decided to find a place to rest and continue tomorrow.

Earlier when he entered / entered the mountains, he never stayed overnight, but as the saying goes “Even. On that note, he naturally knew the dangers of mountains at night.

After he found a nearby tree, Kai Yang climbed up and looked for a suitable place to sleep, after finding a place he immediately put down and closed his eyes.

At one thirty in the morning, Kai Yang had not slept, so he took out the black book and opened page three. With the mind, incense burners float.

This was also a bit of a mystery that Kai Yang had solved about the black book. Anything stored inside could be summoned and returned at will. It was all a storage book, and the burner had obviously been put there before so this function was not surprising.

What Kai Yang did not understand was that aside from incense burners, other things could not be stored in books. This made him wonder, was the black book a soul stone? Do soul stones usually have a limit on what to accept and reject?

After playing with the black book for a while, Kai Yang fell asleep. He had just spent the entire day walking around the mountain.

After a peaceful night, Kai Yang woke up early the next day and practiced angry body records for half an hour. In order to gather a good harvest, he had to work very hard for the next two days. He also felt that he was on the verge of a breakthrough, not only did he feel that his atmosphere was at the maximum limit, he also felt his body as well. Kai Yang only needed a final push to make a breakthrough.
