The Line of Destiny for Us

The Line of Destiny for Us
Chapter 3 - Closing the Truth

In the spacious room, just celebrating the dimming of the lights, now Zeline is located. The woman's right hand moved gently giving a touch of color to the large canvas. The brush he pointed at the palette he held in the other hand, then re-channeled his feelings through the beautiful paintings he made.

The last touch, Zeline smiled with satisfaction when she felt the painting was perfect. This is the last painting he has done for his exhibition this year. Zeline was happy, she felt very happy even though there was a bit of pain in her heart from remembering something.

The sound of a cell phone ringing blew away everything in his mind. Zeline turned around, moving towards the table where she placed her phone.

All of his painting tools had been put down, while the woman was now opening the apron she was wearing. He reached the phone and directed it to the ear after he raised his phone call first.

"What's wrong?" ask, without talking. Because the person he was calling right now was Nala, his best friend.

"Are you busy right now?" ask Nala over there.

"Doesn't that include rhetorical questions, Miss Nala?" sahut Zeline, smiled faintly.

There was the sound of Nala's little laughter, and the woman answered again. "You're in an ordinary place, aren't you? I'll come see you. Busy or not I'll come there."

"Indeed ka-" Zeline wasn't done talking, Nala had already cut off the phone unilaterally just like that. Zeline sighed, looking at her phone.

As she said earlier, Nala actually came to where Zeline met her best friend. A woman with a cheerful personality, Zeline always sees Nala smiling at all times. Therefore also Zeline also felt happiness from him, if there is no Nala will somehow live the life that Zeline lived.

Take Zeline to a place where she was not told her destination. Zeline now stared down at the place she had visited after arriving there. Especially if he is not in the mall, he should also know that his best friend will take him there and he can refuse from the beginning.

"You should have told me I was going here" Zeline said, grumbling slightly.

Nala turned her head, her hand moving pulling the two corners of Zeline's lips that were not smiling at all.

"Smile, we have to have fun today" he explained, then pulled Zeline's hand to get inside.

Being on the escalator, Zeline was only speechless looking up. Nala who was aware of the look of the face was now clutching Zeline's cheek with her forefinger, making the master turn to her.

Moving one full step to end the escalator stairs, Zeline and Nala face each other.

"Don't you forget it's not for tomorrow? I have to find clothes for a date tomorrow, so keep a company until I get them, okay?" nala Pinta.

"You didn't forget our deal either, did you? The time comes after your date day, "replies Zeline, who finally smiles as well.

Walking side by side, Nala looked at Zeline who was slightly taller than her.

"Review, don't ask for anything! Let alone having me cook your food all day, wash your clothes, clean your house, or even shine your shoes!" his bluff, made Zeline laugh at it.

"I can set it up" joked Zeline.

Nala's main goal is to get new clothes for tomorrow's date, but see that she's now in the bag shop and forgot all about it.

Nala is typical of women like that, talking will buy an item, but after coming to the place of shopping he will buy a lot of goods until he actually does not need even though.

Zeline walked slowly inside the luxurious store, while Nala is now busy choosing a bag with the store employees.

"Zeline," called Nala, who Zeline turned to.

Lifting up the bright red branded bag, Nala again said. "Is this bag good?" ask for the opinion of his best friend.

Nodding Zeline's head answered that question. Nala smiled and immediately chose the item without thinking back.

Finished from that place, Nala did not go directly to the clothing store. The woman instead went to various stores that Zeline had suspected from the beginning.

Every time Zeline comes to the mall with Nala, believe me that it will be a long day for her.

Moving to a different place, Beryl sat in her chair and seemed busy with her work. Today he must finish all his work because his daily tomorrow will be taken by his best friend, Rayan.

For almost hours he sat in a chair with a pile of files that he had not finished. Beryl thought he had to rest for a while to enjoy a cup of coffee so that his body back stamina.

Both of the man's legs moved around the room, blowing hot coffee in his right hand before he finally gulped the sweetness of the drink. Beryl's body was facing a painting she had placed in her room.

His parents gave him two different paintings every year and for some reason Beryl loved them so much and was used as a medicine when she was tired.

The door of the room opened, Beryl turned her gaze toward the door. The man's pupils widened, he was confused when his gaze was met with his father's presence there.

"Dad, what's up here?" beryl asked, there was also a sense of pleasure when he met his father after a long time.

"la felicitas arrivera presto."

The man's forehead was wrinkled because he did not understand what the Father had just said. The old man came near his son whom he had longed for.

"Happiness is coming soon. That's the title of the painting" he explained, patting Beryl's shoulder.

"It looks like you really like the painting of our gift," suppose, then Beryl nodded while smiling at the man.

The two men looked at the painting with the theme of a view of a city in Italy with impressionism painted so beautifully. Beryl smiled, the man's lips opened to ask his father something.

"Is the painter a close friend of Dad's?"

Dad shook his head. "No, he's a relative of Dad's. Maybe he was almost the same age as you," he replied, so Beryl rounded her eyes unexpectedly.

"really? I guess the artists are about the same age as Dad," Beryl's reaction, still can't believe because it turns out her estimates have been wrong all along.

"How's Laras doing?" father asked, changing Beryl's expression in an instant.

Quickly Beryl smiled again despite having a flat face after hearing the name Laras, however he did not want his father to be suspicious.

"She's fine" he replied, smiling, though somewhat imposing.

"Take him to dinner. Your father and mother have reserved a place for tonight, your mother also said she misses her son and daughter-in-law very much" he said, taking a walk in the room.

Beryl just kept quiet and didn't answer.

"It looks like Laras can't come."

Dad's body turned quickly when he heard Beryl's words. It is true that Laras certainly could not come even if Beryl asked or forced him anyway. Because the woman is now on vacation outside the city with Jerome. Beryl didn't ban him and let him leave just like that, because there was one deal they made together.

There is no prohibition even though meeting even dating the opposite sex.

The agreement is still ongoing to this day.

"Why?" ask Dad, a little disappointed.

"Dad must have known clearly that Laras was a model who had a busy schedule. I'll ask her, but there's no guarantee she'll come along because she's busy" Beryl said, lying at the end of the sentence.

Dad nodded trying to understand his situation. "Hm, okay. I understand he must be very busy, but you can come, right? Your mother will be disappointed because Laras did not come especially if you also did not attend," Pinta Dad.

"I understand. Take it easy, I'll finish early and come to dinner together" replied Beryl, accepting the invitation.

...****************...

A promise is a promise.

Beryl now arrives at a restaurant that her father has addressed. Entering the spacious place, Beryl was greeted friendly by restaurant employees.

The man's hand was carrying a paper bag containing an item that was known to be a vitamin drink for both parents. There was no way he had come empty-handed, even though he hadn't seen the two of them in a long time.

No need to see the receptionist to find his parents there, because Beryl's views were immediately met with them. Coming with a warm smile, Beryl joined them there.

"How's Mom doing?" Beryl hugged the old woman and kissed the tip of her head, releasing a longing feeling in her mother's figure.

"Good mother, how about you?" ask her back, with a look.

"Always good," he answered, landing his butt on the chair.

The woman's gaze circulated, as if looking for someone she could not find her whereabouts. Beryl who understood immediately said to him, "The barrel can't come because it's busy. Sorry.." slowly, while Mom just smiled.

"Mom understands, the most important thing is that you come and I'm very happy" he said.

Beryl smiled, clasping her mother's already wrinkled hands. Only one thing the man wanted right now, he wanted his mother to quickly recover from her illness. The woman was aged and now ended up sitting in a wheelchair because of her illness.

The world is so unfair to him. Why happiness always approaches many people, excluded himself. Sometimes Beryl thinks like that, but she also thinks there might be a time when she can feel the sweetness of life after so long only she feels the bitterness.

It's gonna come. Beryl sure.

The food that was available in front of them. Beryl cut the steak with a knife and ate it, as did her Mom and Dad. Chewing her food, Mother Beryl looked at her son who was just quietly enjoying his food.

"How's Laras doing? He's fine, isn't he?" ask Mom, who already considers her daughter-in-law like her own child.

Beryl raised her gaze, she answered the question after swallowing the food in her mouth. "Don't worry, Laras is fine because there is me who always take care of him" he responded, reassuring.

"Thank God" Mother replied, briefly.

Shut up again, they enjoyed each other's food until finally Dad opened his voice.

"Is there no sign of pregnancy on the barrel yet? Your father and mother are looking forward to a grandchild."

Almost choking on his father's question, Beryl now gulps down his drink and tries not to show the truth.

"With a model, we have agreed and I agree if Laras postpones her pregnancy for now" Beryl said.

"Mom knows, it's just.. Mom always worried about Laras' health. Is there no disease that is widespread? You can get offspring, right?" mother asked with a worried face that Beryl could catch.

The man grabbed the hand of his mother who was on the table, rubbed the hand gently. "Just be in good health, when the time comes, I will give you beautiful and handsome grandchildren."

It feels like Beryl feels guilty for saying things that are just lies.

Looking at the expression of Father and Mother who looked calm mixed happy to hear the words of Beryl who was just a joke for him, making his chest feel tight. They were very much expecting offspring from him and Laras, without knowing what their lives were like.

That night, Beryl was lonely again after returning home from the restaurant. The large house looks dark because it is only illuminated by a few lights with dim lighting. She lay her fragile body on a soft sofa in the living room.

Beryl raised one arm and pointed it at her face, covering her eyes that she could only see in the darkness. Breathing that sounds so heavy shows that he is not okay.

After a while, Beryl got back up on the couch. His attention was now on a large shopping bag that had been on the table for some time, so tired that he did not realize the existence of the bag when he arrived there.

"Who is this from?" he muttered, slightly forward to grab the shopping bag and see what was inside.

Satin shirt blue sky and dark brown jeans he can see after opening the shopping bag, Beryl took a letter contained in it and he was open to read.

Wear these clothes for tomorrow! I'm very grateful to you even though we haven't done it. Let's have fun tomorrow and forget about the busyness as well as the problems that exist.

Rayan_

Unexpectedly, Beryl smiled faintly after reading the letter from Rayan.

There is always Rayan when he feels lonely, even though his best friend is not present directly but Beryl can feel his existence. Rayan always encouraged him and made himself survive until now, all the babble that looks like a Mother Beryl really liked because it can make her laugh.

It seems true what Rayan said. Beryl had to forget about all her problems tomorrow and try to have fun. After all, there is no ban from Laras if he wants to play and even meet women, Beryl hopes that tomorrow will be different and luck will soon come and side with him.
