Aurora felt her heart thump as the phoenix man clasped his hand and introduced himself as Alaric. He felt like there was a magnet pulling him towards the man, and he could not avoid that feeling. They talk long and Aurora learns about Alaric's life as a phoenix and about the larger world they live in.

However, as the night wore on, Alaric suddenly said that he had to leave and leave Aurora alone. "Wait, Alaric, don't go" he said.

"No, I have to go" Alaric replied quickly. "There's something I have to do. And I don't want to harm you."

Aurora felt tightness in her chest. "What's going on, Alaric? What made you so rushed?"

Alaric looked at him with an expression filled with guilt. "I can't tell you now, Aurora. But I'll be back, I promise."

Aurora looked at Aiden confusedly, "What do you mean?"

Aiden replied, "You have a very strong power, Aurora. Very rare power. A power that could unite the phoenix race and the human race."
