The Greedy Sister-in-law

The Greedy Sister-in-law
The Arrival of In-Law

"You haven't cooked yet, Dek?" Ask bang Jali to his wife.

"Not yet, don't know what to cook? I also do not hold money for shopping," said Lili with a sad look because he did not hold a penny.

Jali sighed deeply, she was so sad to see the condition of her family who were all in short supply. Not that he does not make money but living in the village is very difficult to find a job other than being a farmer.

"You wait here, Dek! Brother went to the garden first there may be nutmeg that can be harvested and sold," said bang Jali.

"Yes, bang? Careful," said Lili, jali just nodded then went to the garden not far from her house.

They have a garden planted in various varieties such as jengkol trees, nutmeg trees, banana pohong but once harvest is only enough for 5 days while Jali looking for another job.

It was late in the afternoon, but Lili had not yet cooked to break it. There was only rice in his house so he chose to cook rice first while Bang Jali brought home the fortune.

"Assalamualaikum.," There was a voice greeting someone, Lili rushed forward to see who came turned out to be her mother. He thought if bang Jali had gone home so he could cook this afternoon.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, why didn't you come and say something?" Ask Lili.

"So it just so happened that mom passed your house so just stop by, all of you" said my mom again.

"Where are you, Li?" Ask mommy.

"So tell me again to the garden, ma'am." Said Lili accompanying her mother.

"Have you cooked to break the fast?" Again the mother asked making Lili speechless.

"No, Ma. I'm waiting for bang Jali to come home, later we can cook together," said Lili smiling at her mother, who was, he did not want his mother to know if they did not have any money at all today to cook iftar.

"Oh so! Oh yes Li, the mother to the market seemed to buy a lot of kitchen spices for you only after all the mother just stay together the same father," said Bu Imah issued a chili, tomatoes and other kitchen ingredients.

"No need, Mom! Later I can buy the same bang Jali to the market anyways there is still kok in the kitchen," said Lili refused unkindly continue to accept the gift of her mother.

"Who are you like? I'm your mother Li, now take this to the kitchen and the fish. I just remembered there was still fish in the refrigerator," said Bu Imah took out half of what he bought for his son.

She knows very well how the condition of her child's household even though every question they always say if they are adequate but the name of the parents will still know.

"Li, mom came home first because it was late in the afternoon too. Later in the night do not forget to go to the mother's house," said Mother Imah brought her groceries after giving half to her son.

"Yes ma'am, what is the show at Ma'am's house?" Tanya Lili was curious.

"No show? I just told you to come with your husband" said the mother again and then went out of the house where her daughter was staying.

"Mother be careful on the road huh," Lili said.

After her mother left, Lili went back to the kitchen to see what her mother had given her. His tears flowed when like this his mother was still thinking about him, the fish that had just been bought was just given to him freely.

Lili clean the fish earlier, cooked to break the fast later. Some of the others will stay for tomorrow because they do not have children despite being married for two years.

Before long her husband came, she who was making spices turned briefly towards Jali who held a watermelon in her husband's hand.

"Where's this watermelon coming from, Bang?" Ask Lili.

"Given the same Mr. Yusuf, happened to meet Mr. Yusuf on the way home," said Jali smiling.

"Can you get his reinvention, bang?" Ask Lili.

"There is a Deck, but only this," Jali took out a blue one-sheet note and offered it to his wife.

"Alhamdulillah, Mother! This one can be saved for tomorrow," said Lili smiling, although a little he still felt happy and received sustenance with a spacious chest.

Despite the flaws, they never fought. They are silent if they have no money at all.

"What are you cooking, Dek?" Tanya Jali realized that his wife was cooking.

"I was cooking fish, and I stopped by" said Lili.

"Mom must have given the fish yes Dek, the mas so not tasty as the mother," said Jali was not pleased with her in-laws who often helped them.

"Here, don't think about it! the important thing is we can eat Bang and this money we can use for tomorrow" Lili said smiling.

The odd job of Bang Jali makes Lili have a lot of patience, life is not always below there must be a time above. Every rice harvest, Lili save little by little for the future of her children and thankfully if you can buy the land of the house but it has not been delivered.

A series of iftar sounds from the neighboring radio, a couple is now sitting down with the watermelon that was attacked to release their thirst. There are no fancy foods, only watermelon to quench thirst and cooked fish, no sweet foods to break the fast.

"Alhamdulillah, let's bang let's eat first," asked Lili, her stomach was very hungry. She immediately took the food in the prepared container and placed it on the plate owned by her husband.

They break their fast calmly, occasionally joking with their wives.

"Mas, I said tell him to come home tonight," said Lili finished breaking her pot, then sipped water to the toilet.

"What's the show, Dek?" Bang Jali's question was confused.

"I don't know also bang, we should just come first," said Lili.

"Yes, then my brother changed clothes first," said Bang Jali to the room while Lili cleaned the dirty dishes they ate earlier and brought the rest of the fish gulai for sahur later.

Now that they were in the yard of his parents' house, there were several motorcycles that were relaxed in front of his mother's house.

"It looks like at home a lot of people's mothers, bang," said Lili saw two motorcycles.

"It looks like so deck, we'd better just go inside" said bang Jali.

Lili and her husband entered the house but no one in the living room seemed to be in the tv room where the family used to gather.

Lili continued to step foot into the tv room with her husband.

"Sister Lili, bang Jali, how come you?" The voice of someone stopping Lili's steps, the most who came was not a guest but his sister money is now visiting his mother.

"Eh, you Don! When did you come down to deck?" Tanya Lili smiled seeing her sister had already succeeded.

"So late afternoon, let's sit down" said Doni.

"Eh, you've come Li. Here sitting near mom," said mother, Lili just nodded while Jali just kept quiet without speaking a word.

"How are you, Mel?" Tanya Lili opened the conversation with her sister-in-law, Doni's wife came from a family to be so that Doni's life was lifted. She works at her in-laws so her life is better than her sister Lili's.

"Thank God be good, brother. Brother how are you, have not filled yet," asked Meli to Lili her brother-in-law.

"No, Deck! Maybe it's not time yet" said Lili smiling.

"Oh yeah, which twins?"

"Sleeping in the room" said Meli smiling.

Lili simply nodded, no longer talking to her sister-in-law. He only kept quiet occasionally hearing the husband's chat with his father.

"So what did I tell Lili to come here for?" Tanya Lili to her mother.

"Emmm... That was mom buying clothes for you two because the father had more fortune, so I bought you clothes. Moments later, I picked it up" said the mother rising up to her room.

Mother came back and held a bag of black crackles in her hand and sat down near the two of us.

"It's for both of you, I hope you like it" said Mother, giving us one shirt each.

"I can't take it, Mom." Said Lili.

"But why son?" Ask Mom again.

"It's not good to see the same bang Jali, as if she can't support me and I don't want to hurt her Mom," Lili said occasionally turning to her husband.

"But son, mother gave this to you not expecting anything," said the mother again staring sadly at her daughter.

"I know, Mom but I don't want to hurt my husband Mom. She had been trying to make me happy, not to give her mother hurt her," said Lili again, she did not refuse but she did not want to hurt her husband's feelings.

"Sister Lili's right, ma'am. Let this shirt be stored first let my brother lili talk about it first bang Jali." Timpal Meli's.

"But Mel...,"
