The Foreign Taste

The Foreign Taste
Titan's Memories

Flashback 6 years ago.

My name is Titan. Short for Titanium. Yep. My father deliberately gave me a name like the chemical element atomic number 22 in the Periodic Table of Elements.

According to the Father, Titanium is the most beneficial metal, as well as being rust-resistant, and strong as some steels (in its pure state) but lighter.

My father was actually just a building clerk. But his love of science made me have to have a name that smells of science anyway.

So was my only sister, Hafsah. Hafsah has the long name Hafsah Selenium.

According to the mother, the name Hafsah was only Selenium. But because my mother insisted on adding another normal name, finally added the name Hafsah in front of my sister's name.

Selenium itself is the atomic number 34 element whose name is actually derived from the Greek, Selene. Selene means the moon. This element is generally in the form of minerals found in legume plants.

I often mengedeki Hafsah with his last name. From Selenium to 'Sweet fragrance'. And I was almost always scolded by my mother for my plunder whenever Hafsah complained to her.

I am fifteen years old now. Hafsah is only six years old. At my current age, I grew up as a supple, slangy and a bit ignorant teenager.

You could say I was a connoisseur of ignorant children in the city where I currently live, in the city of X. Almost all the kids knew me and always avoided me. Because they don't want to be the object of my ignorance.

Actually I'm not too ignorant either. Sometimes I just like to ask for snacks some children who are richer in status than me, or even corner the little ones who are too quiet.

One of the frequent victims of my pranks is a ten-year-old girl named Ranum.

She is the most beautiful girl in the city where I live. Although beautiful, Ranum is a child who is not arrogant. Tends to be quiet, even. I often cornered her to the walls of my neighbor's house and pulled her adorable rabbit pigtail hair.

And I'm getting more and more anxious because that kid doesn't like to complain and just runs away in silence. He reminds me of my neighbor's rabbit I used to play with when I was younger.

The rabbit was dead a long time ago.

One day, as usual, I was sitting by the side of the road with my gangmates.

Suga, one of my friends just bought a pack of cigarettes. The plan was we want a race sucking the roko. Who is the most powerful and spends a lot of roko, then he is the winner.

The prize of this ridiculous race is to be treated to play PS 5 as much as possible. PS 5 was a computer game in rental that was popular at the time. His rental money was collected from people who lost the cigarette smoking race.

After the race, it turns out that the winner is Suga. Indeed, the boy's basis ngik has often smoked his father's cigarette. It is only natural that he wins.

But, after all, a promise is a promise. Because of her me and my three other friends who also lost, had to raise money together for Suga's prize went to the rental and played PS 5.

I do grieve. I thought I could be the winner. I am finally confused now. Because among my other friends, I am the wealthiest status of his parents.

So I had to rack my brains to get Suga's prize money. And I thought about just using my skills. It's about other little kids. Haha.

Actually, I've never been so reckless with people anyway. I have my own rules for doing this.

First, he is the son of a rich or capable man. And secondly, I'm not gonna cut all that kid's money. Well.. Let's just say I'm charging alms that they should give to incapable people like me, right?

That afternoon, I was selecting the children who passed the road in front of me. Until then I finally found also the target of the child who will be the object of my actions.

He is Ranum. The eldest son of a married couple of convection workers in my village.

In my hometown, convection workers have a fairly large income. Second largest after the night job.

I also often find Ranum and his sister buying ice cream at the Yati Tea shop. A rather luxurious snack for the children who live in my slum .

So Ranum and his sister named Kania became one of the objects of the activities of my brain.

That afternoon, little Ranum walked alone. Though usually I often see him walking alone with his sister while holding hands.

I was often made to laugh every time I saw the duo passing by on the front street where I used to hang out. Because Kania's behavior is very similar to my sister Hafsah. So spoiled and clinging to his Big Brother.

Sometimes I see Ranum struggling to hold Kania who sings so cheerfully in his sling. While Ranum just smiled thin even though the sweat on his face was already layered.

This afternoon little Ranum walked alone while carrying a package. Looks like he just bought ice cream from the Yati Tea shop.

And my mischievous intentions immediately appeared and chose that boy as my next target.

I just stood up and left my friends chatting about PS 5. I approached little Ranum who seemed to be humming slowly.

'Hmm. beautiful boy. If she grows up, she will grow up to be a beautiful woman too!' thought I was imagining.

Quickly, I immediately intercepted the boy's move. When he saw me, little Ranum immediately put on a worried expression. And I was satisfied that I had succeeded in making the little boy in front of me feel afraid of me.

Without any more ba bi bu, I immediately asked him for money.

"For money!" Pinta I forced.

"No, Brother. This is Mother's money. If ice cream is allowed. But one yes. The one had Kania, you see." said the boy with a fearful expression.

"Here's the ice cream!" I'm gonna take ice cream on her.

Then little Ranum opened his crackle bag to take the ice cream he was going to give me.

Because I can't wait, I was about to take it myself, because I just pulled the crackle package in the hand of the boy Ranum.

"That's too long! Here I take!"

"Shortly, Brother! Let Ranum be, uh. Don't be that brother. It's Nia's!" And I was fighting over ice cream with little Ranum.

I hear my friends hanging out laughing at me in the back.

"You know, Tan! A kid playing robbed!" Suga shouted behind me.

I'm not talking about Suga. Because I was addicted to making this boy in front of me cry. I rarely saw this girl cry.

Ranum is more often silent and smiles thinly. A typical shy kid.

"No, Brother! It's got Kania! This one is Kak!"

Little Ranum tried to take his sister's ice cream out of my hand. But obviously I won. Because my body is so much taller than her.

Our five-year age difference makes our body height difference as well. The boy's height didn't even reach my chest.

"Go whatever! I can buy again! Sana kun tet home!" My eyes without mercy.

Tali little Ranum still trying to take the ice cream in my hand. Until the scramble for ice cream makes our position unconsciously shifted to the middle of the road.

One day a motorbike came fast towards us.

I who turned my back on the motorbike did not know the existence of this motorcycle. But little Ranum saw it.

The next second I knew the little girl was pushing me to the side with all her might. And I also reflexes to pull it too until finally we fell to the roadside with the position of his body that hit me.

The gasket that surprised me was when the little lips of the Ranum boy landed right above my lips.

For a moment I was glued. I didn't realize what was really going on for the next few minutes.

It wasn't until Suga and my other friends came up to us and helped me wake up that I realized what had happened just now.

That little Ranum has helped me from getting hit by a motorbike. And that boy also stole my first kiss.

Flash back done.
