The False Bride of the Mafia

The False Bride of the Mafia
Chapter 23: New York

Today Zian and Nara will fly to America to meet the girl's family. Zian wanted to ask Nara's parents for permission to marry their daughter.

Maybe Nara only considers if the two of them are just fake brides because the marriage will take place without the slightest love, but not for Zian, because he is serious about the marriage.

The plane they were on finally landed at the airport. The sky was already dark when Nara and Zian got off the plane that brought them to the country.

Even though the night had arrived, New York still did not lose its sparkle of spirit. As Frank Sinatra said in his legendary New York song, New York, the city never sleeps.

The city, known as the symbol of the Statue of Liberty, promises an incredible experience for 24 hours. Exploring New York non-stop will bring a unique experience for tourists.

"I'm hungry, we'll have dinner first." Said Nara while rubbing her rumbling stomach.

Zian nodded. Not only was Nara hungry, but she was too. While on the plane, Nara's stomach is still filled with two pieces of her favorite tuna sandwich, while Zian is not at all.

And after filling her belly up at the airport restaurant. They continued on their way to Nara's parents' residence. Before they left, Nara had already told her mother and father that she would come with their future daughter-in-law. And of course they welcomed him with joy.

Arriving at the William family's luxurious mansion. The arrival of Nara and Zian was welcomed by Mrs and Mrs William. Both are waiting on the front porch. Nara got out of the car and ran to her mother.

"Mama, I miss you." Nara said as she hugged her mother tightly.

"Mama misses you too" replied Lady William.

"Hey, bad girl. All you miss is your mother, didn't you just meet a few weeks ago. And what about Papa?" Sir William exclaimed that he was jealous of his wife because their daughter preferred to embrace him.

Nara let go of her mother's embrace and then moved on to embrace her father. "I miss you too, Papa." He hugged his father tightly.

Seeing Nara's closeness and familiarity with her parents made Zian feel a bit envious. How not, since childhood he never get affection let alone attention from them. And Zian could only hold it in his heart whenever he saw another person so close and familiar with his family.

Zian was shocked as he felt a soft pat on his shoulder. He turned his head and Lady William was smiling widely at him. A warm smile and full of sincerity, and that smile managed to make Zian's cold heart touched.

"Son, come on in. You two must be tired, Auntie has prepared a room for rest." Mrs William asked Zian to come in.

The young man nodded while carving a thin smile on his lips. "Good, Auntie."

The four then walked together into the luxurious Mansion which had three floors. Zian and Nara walked behind William's mistress and master.

They will discuss Nara and Zian's wedding plans tomorrow. It was already late at night plus Nara and Zian who had just traveled a long journey that was very tiring. And Zian's arrival there was welcomed and warmed by Nara's parents.

Two days Nara didn't go to work. The girl took a few days off for personal gain. And as long as Nara doesn't go to work, Devan feels that something is empty and missing. Maybe because he was used to his presence.

But he tries to get used to his absence, because sooner or later Nara will also go as far as possible from her life.

The handsome young doctor had just finished examining his patient. He was about to return to his study, but his steps stopped when he accidentally passed a friend during his first lecture.

The summoned contact turned his head and stopped his steps. The girl with beautiful eyes approached Devan. "You're Devan, right?" Ara said doubtfully. Devan nodded. "God, I never thought we'd see each other again. How are you?" Ask Ara to make sure.

"As you can see, I'm very kind. How about we find a comfortable place to talk?" Devan's Proposal.

"How about lunchtime. We had lunch together. I'm still there need to be with this hospital chief." Ara. Devan nodded, agreeing with Ara's proposal.

"All right then." Devan. Ara smiled and sauntered away.

Then the two split up and walked in opposite directions. Devan returns to his room, while Ara goes to the hospital headroom. Ara is going to join this hospital.

Zian approached Nara in her room. Their rooms were next to each other, so Zian could freely meet the girl at any time. Nara was standing on the balcony of her room when Zian walked inside.

Nara turned her head, glancing at Zian from the tail of her eyes. The young man walked up to him. "You haven't slept?" Tegur Nara arrived at Zian's place.

"I'm not used to sleeping at this hour. Then why haven't you slept yourself?" Zian asked back.

"Star, I remember enjoying it. Just look at the sky tonight, isn't it a very bright and friendly night." Nara said, her gaze rolling on the young man beside her.

Zian nodded. "Yes" he answered briefly.

After that short talk. No more talking between them, Zian and Nara both remained silent.

Zian turned his head, Nara leaning her head on her right shoulder.

Since childhood, Nara likes to see the stars. Almost every night Nara looked at the star-filled night sky. He would open the window of his room, looking up at the sky without getting bored.

"What makes you so fond of the stars and the night sky?" Zian asked breaking the silence.

Nara closed her eyes. "The star is full of hope. You must know the rumors about shooting stars, right? A shooting star that he said could grant one wish. If I'd rather make the parable 'one star for one hope.' Put one of our hopes on the stars, while we strive to realize that hope. Letting the star keep our hope, until one day we take that hope back." Answer Nara at length.

He turned to face the sky above, looking at the brightest glowing star. Nara was waiting for a shooting star, but she never got lucky and found it. Though he often waited until past midnight, unfortunately the luck never came to him. Until finally...

"Zian, there are shooting stars!!" nara exclaimed with excitement.

The girl clasped her hands together in front of her chest while tightly closing her eyes. Nara wanted to prove herself if the star could indeed grant her wish.
