The Eternal In The Magic World

The Eternal In The Magic World
Chapter 13: Moving House

Harold thought of Saleen's notes, and a ‘rakus’ smile appeared on his face.

He had long been looking forward to mastering magic.

The next day, Harold pushed the door open and out of the room.

Today there are many pedestrians on the highway, mostly wearing linen clothes and pants. The air was fresh, but there was still a fishy smell. Sometimes, they could even see dirt on the street.

He had to admit that the environment in this world was not as good as it seemed.

Fortunately, the situation in the Urban area would be much better, and this was the problem that Harold would solve today.

Scholar Clement gives him a three-day vacation to take care of his own affairs, while Harold already makes an appointment with someone and is ready to find a new place to live.

“Master, what do you think of this place?”

In front of a secluded house, a man asked Harold respectfully.

“Not bad!” Harold looked at the house in front of him and nodded in satisfaction.

This was a house in the northern part of Jun Lin city. It was relatively far away and about three thousand meters away from the library.

The exterior adopts the more general Imperial architectural style, and the grounds are made of ordinary blue bricks, full of historical flavor, and a large number of greenery climbs on it.

“You are a student of scholar Clement. Don'worry. I will definitely give you a nice home.” The man replied with a smile.

If not for the scholar Clement, he would not have had such an attitude towards a young man.

Yesterday, when Harold and scholar Clement talked about where they would live, the scholar Clement said that he could help. Then, he asked Harold to look for the man in front of him. He has arranged everything.

Although he had only become his disciple, Harold could already feel the change.

“You can come in and see with me.” The man said with a smile.

Harold nodded and followed the man.

As he followed the man into the house, Harold realized that although it looked a little seedy from the outside, inside it was very clean. There was no strange smell, and the area was not small either.

The house is self-contained, with only one floor and a small courtyard.

There were four rooms inside, a large living room, a bathroom, and even a spacious basement. The interior decoration is nice, and some basic furniture is available. He could even bring his things to live in directly.

After taking a look, Harold was quite satisfied with his surroundings, but he did not know whether the price was acceptable or not.

As if he could see Harold's worry, the man smiled and said, “Don't worry, scholar Clement has made arrangements. The owner of this house belonged to the Vitaly family, and the scholar Clement was an advisor to the Vitaly family. Therefore, you can rent it with two silver coins a month.”

It is worth mentioning that after becoming a formal employee, his salary was also raised to five silver tarls, which can be considered a tremendous increase. This allowed him to have enough money to choose a house.

Actually, he wanted to see a larger villa, but after knowing the price, he was immediately advised to leave. It was not a villa that he was capable of staying in at the moment.

Moreover, if he stayed in the villa, he would have to hire maids, coachmen, and the like. It would be another expenditure, and his salary of five silver tarls would not be able to support him at all.

“True, the rent here is initially five silver tar a month, but you only need to pay two. This was also because this place was extremely remote. If it is near the city center, the price may be several times higher for such a large area.” The man replied with a smile, trying his best to sell it.

“Then I'll take it!” Harold nodded.

The surroundings here were deserted, and there were no busy streets around. It was far from the city center, and there was a basement where some magic science research could be done.

As for testing the incantation, the basement was enough for the weaker ones. As for the stronger spells, why should he test them at home? Wouldn't it be better to test it out of town, in a ditch, or somewhere else?

Moreover, powerful magic might attract the attention of some people. After all, even though the Empire seemed to have no idea about the existence of the Witch, Harold believed that if he were to be revealed, there would be a big problem, and it was not something he wanted to face.

“Did you bring the contract?” ask Harold.

“Ya.” The man said enthusiastically, then took out his contract.

After confirming that there was no problem with his contract, Harold took the quill pen the man had brought and wrote down his name, then handed him twelve silver tar for a total of half a year's rent. The rent here is paid in half-year intervals.

“Alright, are you sure you want to live alone?” The man recalled the previous conversation and asked.

In their previous conversation, Harold mentioned that he lived alone.

“Ya.” Harold nodded.

“If you need to clean the house or need other services, you can come to me. Don't worry, we are professional.” The man said with a smile and started promoting their additional business.

“No need,” said Harold, his mind thinking of some spell that could clear.

“Alright then.” The man was a little disappointed, but he immediately regained his spirit.

The two chatted for a while, then the man handed the key to Harold and left.

That night, Harold brought his only asset, a few strands of linen clothes and a few notes. After tidying up the place, he lit a candle in the empty study room and began to read.

During this time, Harold had also read part of the book and gathered many questions. He wanted to find someone to talk to, but unfortunately, he did not see a single Witch in this cursed place.

He could only rely on himself to think about the accumulated problems, repeatedly considering them. Thankfully, his record was quite detailed, predicting all sorts of problems he might face during his internship. It was as if the author had already considered this situation.

After thinking for a moment, Harold skimmed through the notebook and directly flipped over to the last part, where the spell was recorded.

A large number of zero circle spells, magician hands, poison spray, will power, light, switch, stun, fatigue touch, quick immunity, animal comfort, thorn protector, stealth shadow …

There were many of them, and they were all zero circle spells suitable for apprentices.

Of course, the notebook seemed to be exactly what Saleen Metatrin had said. It was an apprentice notebook, and what Harold wanted to do right now was to choose the most suitable spell to learn from him.

There are six main types of spells, namely The Conjuring system, divination system, deceptive system, evocation system, necromancy system, and transformation system.

Typically, interns will choose one or two types to study. Since their time and energy are limited, it is better to focus on a certain type.

Learning too much will only consume too much energy. Not only does it take time to meditate, but it may also not give him enough time to study. Mages do not agree with the idea of learning too much because it will take them too little time.

Instead, Harold felt he could master everything. After all, he had plenty of time in the world.
