Rain still falls in Aramend at 7pm, though it is much lighter than before. Shirl continued to wait at the entrance of a hotel in the city center but fatigue began to show on her small face. The sky outside is dark. Vivian had tried to persuade her to leave many times but the little girl insisted on waiting there, staring at the dark and rainy night in a daze, hoping that her father would appear in the next second.
"Shirl, it's 7 p.m. Let's have dinner, okay?"
Vivian took a deep breath inside. How Shirl must have missed her father so much. His heart twisted in pain as he looked at the hopeful gaze in Shirl's eyes.
Shirl was always wise, especially after she was three years old. When she lived in the restaurant where Vivian worked, she sometimes saw children with their father. He would stare at them calmly, his eyes filled with envy and longing. He never told Vivian about it. It was because Vivian once said that her father worked tirelessly in a distant place, so she should not bother him.
"Mom, you can have your own dinner. I'll wait a little longer. I have a feeling that Dad will be back soon. I'll have dinner with him when he gets back..." Shirl shook her head. He turned to smile at Vivian before looking out the door again
"Shirl, didn't I tell you that you're not coming back today? He'll be back the day after tomorrow. Come have dinner with me..." Vivian continued to persuade her daughter.
Shirl continued to shake her head and said stubbornly, "No, I have a hunch that Dad will be back today. I can feel it... I'll wait for Dad to come back and then we'll cook instant noodles together. I'll be back tonight. I'll give him the eggs in my noodles so he'll be full and won't leave again. Isn't that right, Mom?"
Vivian's body trembled, and tears welled up in her eyes. He bit his lower lip as he trembled. He immediately turned around, not wanting his daughter to see his tears.
"Did you hear that, Tyler? Your daughter's greatest wish is to have you by her side. She was so wise that she hid her little wish from me until you finally showed up last night. So, please, you need to be safe!
You must return safely!" Think Vivian.
Vivian no longer knew how to persuade Shirl.
No matter what he said, Shirl refused to go and chose to wait at the door. Shirl is afraid to leave for fear that Tyler will return and will not be able to find him. The little girl has developed a stubborn obsession to wait for her father's return.
But, it was not a good idea to let Shirl wait like this. Shirl is always weak and prone to disease. It was raining outside, but he was wearing very thin clothes. If this continued, he would definitely catch a cold. It takes days for a child of his age to recover from the flu.
Although Vivian could barely force herself to do this, she still scolded Shirl. "Galen Shirley! Can't you understand what I'm saying? Huh huh? I told you your father wouldn't be back today! What's the point of you waiting here? Should you force yourself until you catch a cold? Are you going or not?"
Shirl's body shook. He raised his head in shock and looked at his angry mother. There was a trace of fear in his eyes, and tears began to fall on his face. Even so, he continued to shake his head stubbornly. "Dad will be back... She's gonna...
Huu hu..."
Vivian was shaking and she was crying too.
Unbeknownst to him, life is sometimes very mysterious. Shirl has a premonition that her father will be back today, and Wilson has done his last battle against Tyler earlier this afternoon. This allowed Tyler to return to Shirl's side today. This is a mysterious fate at work. Shirl doesn't know anything but she's pretty sure her father will be back today. Maybe it was because they were connected by blood
"Mom, I'm not leaving! I'm not leaving! I want to wait for Dad! I will definitely be back today!
Mother, I beg you! Let me wait for him here, okay? Mommy, help! I want to wait for Dad..."
Shirl tries to rebel when she finds herself dragged into the hotel with her arm. He won't come in.
"It made me very clear! Your father will not return! He's not coming back, not at all!"
Vivian was really angry this time, and she did not manage to control her tone. He could not help but yell at Shirl.
Vivian's loud rebuke surprised Shirl. Perhaps, it could be said that Vivian managed to scare Shirl away. Shirl started shaking. He had never seen his mother so angry with him.
Shirl was so frightened that she cried, partly out of fear and partly out of worry over Vivian's anger. He said while crying, "Sorry, Mom. Don't yell at me, okay? I'm scared, I'm scared ..."
Shirl's body trembled as she cried. This left Vivian dumbfounded, so she wanted to slap herself. He crouched down, pulled Shirl into a hug, and began to cry.
"I'm sorry, Shirl, I'm sorry. It's Mom's fault. I shouldn't have yelled at you. Sorry, Shirl..."
Vivian apologized to Shirl while crying.
Vivian needs time to calm down. He let go of Shirl and looked straight at her. "Shirl, Daddy really can't go back today. Be a good girl. Come back with Mommy. We'll have dinner and rest. We'll wait for Daddy again tomorrow, okay?"
Shirl lowered her head and played the faded end of her dress due to being washed too much. He's too young. He did not know how to describe his premonition to Vivian. But she knew that her mother was angry and sad, so she had no choice but to be reasonable.
Just as she was about to raise her head and tell Vivian that she was going back with him, Tyler appeared in the rain. Moreover, he took quick steps towards them.
Looking at him from the corner of her eyes, Shirl came out of Vivian's embrace full of joy and happiness. He ran to Tyler, who quickly grabbed him, yelling happily, "Dad, Dad..."
"Shirls... Ye... Whahuh? But how... How did this happen?" Vivian was about to stop Shirl from running out when she heard Shirl's excited voice.
He looked at the man walking towards him and Shirl through the rain and felt a deep shock. How is this possible?
