As usual, every time Mike went home from work to his room. He heard laughter interspersed with jokes from inside Gaby's room. Out of curiosity, Mike approached his only daughter.
"Dad!" pekik Gaby was surprised when she saw the father was already standing in front of the door of her room. "It's not usually dad's to my room" Gaby's inner wonder.
"Master!" Ananda who was sitting on the bed spontaneously stood up with a pias face.
"What are you doing?" ask Mike curiously.
"We're playing this well" Gaby showed Mike a board game.
"Ohhhh" Mike nodded.
"Do you want to come play with us?" ask Gaby enthusiastically.
"Didn't you not take a shower yet, you guys go on!" Mike gave the code.
"Ummmmm, okay!" Gaby was disappointed to be able to only harbor her feelings. This is not the first time the father has refused to play with him, so despite his sadness Gaby has become quite used to his solitude.
After Mike came out of the room, they continued playing.
"Let's continue!" Gaby made Ananda aware of her surprise because this was the first time she had interacted directly with her master. There was a mixed rumble in his heart, between fear, nervousness, shame and also awe that was difficult to describe clearly.
..........
"How's Gaby today?" the question Mike always asks Maya when the house manager gives a daily report.
Despite looking cold and indifferent, Mike is a father who is quite attentive to the needs of his son, but because of the labor time is quite solid and his attitude is not flexible towards small children, but because of the, it made it seem to be at a distance with her daughter.
"Then what about the waiter?" Mike was curious about Ananda.
"Ananda is doing a very good job, as I said yesterday, her presence is quite positive for Miss Gaby!" Maya explained again.
"Good, then let it be like this!" said Mike.
"Okay sir" Maya nodded.
"You can rest now!" Mike allows Maya to go home.
"I'm sorry sir!" Maya looks down respectfully and exits the study.
After Maya's departure, Mike opened his desk drawer and took a picture frame of her and his late wife's wedding.
"Darling, you know, the last few days Gaby's been looking so cheerful, she's been laughing more and more cheerful, you've seen her too, haven't you?" Mike felt a picture of his wife's face.
Tears fell from the corner of Mike's eye. Men who look so cold and indifferent on the outside, are in fact very fragile. Mike is very good at keeping his wounds as his wife left him. He never poured out his heart to anyone about his inner wounds when his wife died in an accident when Gaby was five years old.
"Do you think that girl's good enough to help our son get out of his loneliness after you go, baby?" Mike asked his wife for a picture, though he knew he would not find the answer.
"To be honest I was very curious about the girl, why would she easily make our Gaby laugh and forget all her sadness? while so far many nannies have given up serving him!" Mike curious.
"I miss you baby, if you were here right now, maybe me and Gaby wouldn't be like this!" Mike shed his tears.
He hugged the picture frame tightly in his chest long enough for drowsiness to come attacking and he finally fell asleep at work until the morning.
