The Casino School

The Casino School
Episode 24

The afternoon has arrived. The last day of the exam was greeted with a holiday. Many children who choose to go home, not a few also live in dormitories. The school building has been closed, school staff are preparing for the year-end event and will reopen on December 1.

Yuuji was one of the students who chose to go home to meet the family. Kenji and Hiro live in a dormitory because his parents are in another town and quite far away. Yuuji's departure was accompanied by his five friends. After Yuuji leaves the dorm, Fuji and Tama come home. Kuro himself is lazy to go home because at home no one is waiting for his return.

The Kuga family residence.

The return of the youngest child brings happiness. After almost half a year without the figure of Yuuji made his mother sad and thoughtful. Yuuji only found out that his mother had always refrained from calling Yuuji for fear of interrupting his study time. If you remember the previous days, Yuuji felt guilty because what his parents imagined was very different from reality.

"Yuuji, I've cooked your favorite food" said his mother, Kuga Miwa. Ms Miwa brought Yuuji's backpack upstairs, in Yuuji's room. His father invites Yuuji to enter the dining room.

At 10 a.m., his mother had prepared various dishes. Yuuji's favorite butter fried chicken is perched on a side dish, ready to eat.

"How's school?" asked Yuuji's sister from the tv room. Kuga Ryuuji is her name. "Mmm, that's fine," replied Yuuji. His mind was unfocused, now he just wanted to eat his mente fried chicken.

Ms. Miwa got down and immediately prepared rice for each member of the family, as well as the last one for her own plate. The four of them spent the cooking this morning together on the dining table. While chatting, Yuuji barely spared his fried chicken.

"Yuuji's. What lessons did you learn?" mister Yuuma asked casually, enjoying the remaining half of his meal.

Although a little nervous, Yuuji was clear enough to remember the material he learned in preparation for yesterday's test. Luckily his memory can still hold some of it. This could be the alibi of her parents. During his 5 months in school, Yuuji spent his school days gambling.

Both the old man and the mangosteen-bearded Ryuuji heard Yuuji's explanation. The material is enough for a 1st grade child. Although they actually do not understand the amount of political material for Yuuji's age to get to where. The reason is only this time there is a High School that carries majors such as universities.

After finishing his meal, Yuuji rushed back to the bedroom he had been left in for months. Still neat and fragrant. Her mother always cleaned her room even though Yuuji didn't come home.

Laying down on the bed and grabbing the phone in the pants pocket, Yuuji checked it, getting some messages from Kenji and Hiro, asking Yuuji and the family. Not long there's an incoming call, from Kenji. Without wondering, Yuuji pressed the green button to receive the call.

"Hey. I just finished eating together," Yuuji said casually. There was a crisp laugh inside the phone. They talked briefly to let go of the longing for a moment, then hung up the phone when the door was knocked on. Yuuji opened it immediately.

Ms. Miwa stood up with a glass of warm milk. "Hi, Mum. Come in," said Yuuji. Miwa approached Yuuji's study table and placed the milk on the table. He looked gently at his son.

"You've grown up, yes, Yuuji," muttered Bu Miwa as she stroked Yuuji's cheek slowly. It seems that his mother still could not believe that his second child was this big.

"But yesterday you were a baby" he continued, making Yuuji laugh with anxiety. Her mother is not as ordinary as this, but she will be nostalgic when she sees her child grow up. Just like when Bu Miwa treated Ryuuji back then—even until now.

A spoiled mother with her two sons is at once worried. How not, his work makes Bu Miwa confused in the busyness and stripped almost all the memories of his children's youth. Regret comes at the end. Yuuji's departure to the dormitory made him come to his senses and decided to stop working. After all, the salary from Mr. Kuga is enough to meet basic needs, Yuuji school, and old age savings.

"Mom wants to hear your story at school" said Ms Miwa as she sat on the lip of Yuuji's single bed. Yuuji was aghast, confused as well. How should he explain? School is not like school in general.

She is afraid that if her mother finds out that the school is a bit distorted, her mother will force Yuuji to leave the school. Yuuji is already comfortable with the system there. Especially if you remember, Ms. Miwa actually really hates gambling. Miwa started to worry after Yuuji went to school for 2 months there.

"Mom knows. It's a gambling school, right?" ask Ms. Miwa slowly. "Mom's not angry, really. Your face says you're happy to go to school there, so I won't protest as long as you're happy" she continued.

A feeling of relief gushed into Yuuji's heart. The young man smiled with satisfaction, then sat down next to his mother holding a glass of milk made. He sipped a little at a time. While telling stories and his mother seemed enthusiastic listening to Yuuji's fairy tale.

Until it did not feel like 1pm, Yuuji's long story was over. His mother moved out of the bed with a radiant look. If heard from Yuuji's story, his son looks fine at school. Although many passed through the commotion, Yuuji was not burdened. Ma Miwa was pleased.

"Oh, yeah. Yuuji's. Do you remember Yoneya?" ma'am Miwa asked as she picked up the milk glass in Yuuji's hand.

Yuuji frowned. Yoneya's name was no stranger to her ears, but somehow she forgot who Yoneya was.

"Kyousuke Yoneya, the son of your father's friend who lives in Haha-jima. Bad boy and noisy. I used to go to school in the same kind of kindergarten as you," explained Bu Miwa trying to help Yuuji dig up his memories.

The young man was silent for a moment. Recalling who her TK friends were. Until hap! Landing on a face that once filled his lonely days in his childhood.

"Ah. Kyou, yes, I remember. He moved when I was in Elementary School, yes," Yuuji replied with a small nod to Ms. Miwa. "Why Kyou?" yuuji continued while looking fixedly at his mother.

His mother smiled softly. "Kyousuke will attend Casino School" replied Ms Miwa.

As if struck by Atta's lightning, Yuuji's heart slipped in shock. That childhood friend got into a gloomy school like Casino School? Just be right!

"He went in there at the beginning of the year. So please be guided, yes." Without feeling sinful, Miwa stroked Yuuji's head for a while and then went out, leaving Yuuji who was still sculpted from shock and confusion.
