"*Prove!"

"Prove if the river exists and I won't kill you*."

The general's words made Gem's father take the opportunity, though trembling in fear he complied with the general's wishes. The breeze was so cold, the sky began to darken covered with a cloudy sky that the moon would not appear.

"Well ... well I'll show you the place," he said resignedly.

They walked all the way in the middle of the dark forest. Every second their lives could be lost. They stopped at a place so steep, several tributaries flowed in that place. The large stones made them walk with distress.

After a few small rivers that passed finally they found a river that was quite large, the flow of water was also tight, and the, Gem's father stopped right on top of a large rock and pointed to a small river paved by some bamboo.

"This river ... kyusu river," said Gem's father timidly. Lady Lee and brother Kang were standing not far away from her. The general looked around the river.

"Drink!" her word.

Lee Ming Kyung flinched, though afraid that he would resign and obey the General's words.

Wh...what?" his knees suddenly went limp he fell to his knees on the rock.

"Drink that damned water." The General's orders.

Madam Lee, Gem and Kang looked at her in fear, they shook their heads as slowly as possible. But it seems that Gem's father has made up his mind.

"good. I ... I'll drink water from that river."

"This is one way to protect them, there is no other way" he whispered. While bracing and braving himself Lee Ming Kyung looked at the general.

"Please promise me one thing, don't kill them."

The general nodded his head, making Gem's father a little relieved.

Lee Ming Kyung slightly descended among the rocks, rushing the river water as the rainwater made the stones in the place start to be covered with water.

He turned to look at the general who was looking at him.

"I-I will drink it," he said timidly as he looked at the general.

He then looked at his son and wife, his determination was already unanimous for the sake of his family. Gem's father jumped over one large rock and lowered both his hands to fetch water from the river, he gulped it down while closing his eyes, waiting for something to happen.

A few minutes passed, he waited for what would happen. Lee Ming Kyung opened his eyes, touching his face and both his hands.

"N-nothing happened" he whispered.

He took the water again and gulped it back down, waiting again but nothing happened with him. He did not know how the general reacted, as his face was nowhere to be seen.

Gem's father examined himself, then looked at his hands.

"I-I didn't become a foam, what has happened? It seemed like the story was just a mere fairy tale," he murmured.

"Did my father lie to me not to play by the river?" lee Ming Kyung recalled his father's advice.

Then he remembered the general who was standing on a rock. Lee Ming Kyung twisted his body, but the general was no longer there, he had left and kept his promise not to kill his family.

"Uncle what happened? Did my uncle drink it?" ask Kang. Gem's father nodded, he sat down on the rock, taking a deep breath.

"The story is a mere fairy tale, nothing happens." But Lee Ming Kyung replied Gem so easily.

"Are you a cruel father or a bad man?"

Lee Ming Kyung flinched, he stood back up then looked at his son, he then smiled his question was now answered. He then knelt to look up at the sky, then thanked Gem's grandfather, thanks to his upbringing that taught about life to always do good, they all survived.
