I've been at the halfway house for a week. A very large house with many rooms in it. The complete facilities are very comfortable. Other than myself and the street children, there were also servants employed in this house as well as a pair of grandparents living in the pavilion.
When I first entered the house, I saw that there were grandparents sitting on the porch. They smiled at me and I replied. I was curious about the whereabouts of the grandparents.
"Who are those grandparents?"
"O. they were the owners of this house before."
"Why are they here? What happened to them?"
"You're so smart, aren't you!? Can guess that something happened to them." The great-grandchild just kept quiet. His face slightly blushed. Joseph took a deep breath before telling a story. He invited Cicit to sit down before telling a story.
"They were the owners of this house before. I bought this house because I was interested in the number of rooms. I was also surprised that the house had so many rooms. Ahmad's grandfather explained that initially they deliberately made many rooms for their children later. But in reality, they had only one child."
Joseph leaned his back on the chair and looked up at the sky, remembering the events of that day.
That afternoon, after the transaction was successful, the pair of parents were already preparing to go to their son's house in City A. They just carry a bag of clothes. They plan to take the train. Out of empathy, Yusuf asks Joni and her driver to drive them. At first, grandparents refused, after being persuaded finally they wanted to also be delivered.
"After dropping off don't go right away, wait, and see what happens! My feeling was suddenly bad." asked Yusuf while whispering to Joni.
Joseph took off his coat and took some money from his wallet. His coat and wallet were kept in the car. The big boss will be coming home by public transport. The car is traveling at a speed towards City A.
Meanwhile, the man commonly called Ucup was trying various foods sold by sellers in front of the house. The man also asked for food to take home. Joseph used to buy food for papa, mama, and also the servants who worked at home. The plan, for a while the foster children will eat there before finding a chef to cook at the halfway house. Joseph also had plans to rejuvenate the food stalls along the way to the halfway house to make it more tidy and clean.
Joseph came home in a taxi. The food he bought was placed in the trunk. The taxi driver helped her put food in the trunk. Then let Joseph into the car.
"Sorry, sir! I wonder why the father looks so shabby when the father is if seen like a boss. You see, the father to borrow the shoes of a bad meatballs, while the shoes of the father are entrusted to the meatballs. Continue to give money also for day care services. Why did you do that?" The taxi driver asked, astonished to see Joseph's behavior.
Joseph smiled at the old man before answering his question. He also extended his hand to the taxi driver with the intention of getting acquainted. The confused taxi driver shook his hand as well.
"Include me Yusuf Mahardika Winata! This is my business card! I was lucky to meet a good driver like my father. In the past, I was almost robbed by a taxi driver for looking like a parlente. Thank God I am still safe. Finally I decided if taking a taxi or other public transportation is better to look ordinary, if necessary look like a gembel, hahaha....! Sometimes there are also those who ask you to live in luxury housing? I'll just answer, no! I was told to buy food and take a taxi home. Usually after that they will be quiet. This father is different so I dare to introduce myself."
"O.. That's right sir! There are a lot of criminals, sir! I did not take a taxi until last night. Afraid scuttle. After you take me home, I'll go home."
"Yes sir, right! That's my phone number on the card if you need help you can call me."
"Thank you sir!
The journey that took half an hour was over. Two servants and a security guard helped remove food from the trunk. Yusuf pays the taxi fare according to argo. As he was about to close the trunk, the driver saw two packs of food left behind. Then he called Joseph.
" Sir, wait! There's still food left!"
Yusuf approached the driver. "That's for dad! Hurry home and eat with your son and wife!"
"Thank you sir!"
There were tears coming from the taxi driver. Then a smile was seen on the father's face. When arriving home, the taxi driver used to check the car before getting off. Check if any passengers are left behind. How surprised the man was when he saw the envelope on the passenger bench. On top of the envelope it says "This is for the driver's father". The father cried feeling overwhelmed and grateful for the fortune he received. The driver got down and found his wife and son.
" Thank God, mom, you get windfall! There is food and money. I was given the same passenger. Try to open the envelope!"
Both of his wife's mats glared when they found so much money in the envelope. The wife counted the amount of money.
"Sir, this is not wrong sir? Five million sir! Five million! Oh Allah is holy! Hatur nohun! Alhamdulillah! Sir, this can pay for our poor rent, as well as Hendra's tuition. More is many sir! You can sell again! Oh Allah is holy! I hope that passenger gets more money." The wife was crying so happy. Their burdens of these few months disappeared with the help of Joseph.
Joseph sent a message to Aiu's mother to prepare the money in an envelope. When the driver was busy dropping food, Joseph put the money on the bench.
On the other side in City A, a car stopped in front of the gate of a mansion. Joni and the driver got out of the car. They opened the door for grandparents. Joni rang the bell. A young man was a little older than Joseph. The man ran and opened the door. After seeing who had come, the man immediately kissed the hands of his grandfather and grandmother.
"Lho, sir, he said to take the train? Who is this?"
"It should be, son! Only the one who bought the house insisted on taking the father to get here. This is Mas Joni, his assistant, Mr. Yusuf, who bought my father's house."
Joni shakes hands with grandfather's son-in-law. Suddenly a woman came and spoke in a loud voice.
"Same mother why did you come here?"
"I asked them to come and live with us."
"Died here? Same us?"
"Yes! Why why anyway? My mom and dad are old, let them stay here. The kids are happy when their grandparents are here."
"Why didn't you have the same discussion as me?"
"Why should the discussion be, are they your parents, when you're not happy they're here?"
"Yes, I'm not happy they're here! Bother it!"
The young woman's words cut my grandmother's heart. Tears dripped on those already wrinkled cheeks. A fight broke out between the son and his son-in-law. Because it was night and not good with the neighbors, finally grandfather decided to leave.
"Already son! No need to fight anymore! Mom and Dad will leave here. Assalamualaikum!"
"Sir! Waitaminute! Don't go, sir!"
Grandpa and Grandma walked away from the young couple. Tears flowed from both of their eyes. Their hearts ached remembering the words of their daughter. When they arrived at the gate, Joni immediately led them into the car.
When the daughter-in-law brought Grandma into the yard, Joni asked the driver to shift her car through the gate. Then Joni called Joseph when the quarrel started. Joseph ordered Joni to take them to Winata's house that night.
"Whose house is this, son?" Grandfather was confused because it was not a hotel that was in front of his eyes.
"This is Mr. Joseph's house!"
"Why did we come here, did I ask to be escorted to the hotel?"
"This is the command of Joseph! Tonight, it's not for a while you're staying here!"
Before long Joseph, Papa Andre and Mama Aiu came out. They kissed Grandpa's hands and greeted warmly.
The next day, the son-in-law arrived at his father-in-law's house. The man was confused because he did not find his father and mother-in-law. A fryman who had been watching the man asked, "Who are you looking for?"
"Owner of this house, Mr. Ahmad! Why they don't exist. The gate is locked."
"Oh, Mr. Ahmad! I knew this house was sold yesterday. I heard that Mr. Ahmad wanted to live with his son in the city of A, so this house was sold. I also saw yesterday that Mr. Ahmad was delivered by the driver who bought this house."
"Well you know who bought this house?"
"This sir, happened to be yesterday Mr. Yusuf gave me a business card. Mr. Joseph asked me to guard the house. I happen to be selling it at my own home. He asked if there was anything, I was told to report."
The son-in-law named Rian called Joseph.
"Assalamualaikum! I am Rian, son-in-law of Mr Ahmad! I got the father's number from the fryer in front of the house. Are my mom and dad with me?"
"Waalaikumsalam, Mr. Rian! Yeah, they're with me."
"I asked for your address. I want to meet my father and mother. I want to talk!"
"All right! This is my address, Jl. Beautiful memories number 10. Sakinah Mawaddah Housing."
"Thank you".
Rian immediately left after his two in-laws left. He did not bring a car because of his poor eyesight when night fell. The man asked to take the driver to the station and take a train to the city of J. Despite having a driver, Rian was not escorted because the driver had to take his son to school.
After a 30-minute journey, he finally arrived at Joseph's house. The security guard who had been told before immediately drove Rian into the house. The waiter escorted Rian to the dining room.
"Mr! Mama!"
Mr. Ahmad and Mr. Ahmad were shocked to see his son-in-law. The two of them stood up and approached his daughter-in-law. Rian immediately calmed down in front of the two. Apologizing for his wife's treatment.
"I'm sorry Rian, sir! Rian could not educate Sinta well!"
"Wake son! It wasn't your fault! It was our fault that did not properly educate him! It's already! Don't blame yourself!"
"But, mom...!"
"Already... already! You guys eat first and talk about it again!" Andre interrupted Rian's words.
They went back to the table and continued to eat breakfast. After breakfast Joseph took them to the living room to speak. Yusuf asked Joni to resign if there was a meeting this morning. Luckily, there is no schedule until noon.
"Sir why not tell me that the house has been sold? Where will father live? Did I buy my dad's house again?"
"We deliberately do not want to tell you, so be a surprise. But we were surprised."
"Sir Joseph, how about I buy the house back?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Rian, I can't! I bought the house for a halfway house for street children. I told the foster kids that they no longer need to sleep on the streets. From tomorrow they will stay there. Today I have ordered cleaning services and have asked the waiter to tidy up the place."
"That's it, Mr. Rian. What if Pak Ahmad and Bu Ahmad lived in the pavilion. Isn't there a pavilion in that house?" Joseph gave me an idea.
"Sir Ahmad and mother also do not need to pay any rent. I want you two to be grandparents to foster children. How's it?"
haggard Joseph again.
"really? Can we stay there again?"
"Really, sir! Didn't you build a lot of rooms because you want to have a lot of children? Now you have many grandchildren. Nice right?!"
"Yes right, sir!" Ahmad was very enthusiastic.
"Well, if that's your wish!" answer Rian.
"Pak Rian can also bring the children of the father if you want to visit. The house will always be open to Mr. Rian's family!"
"Thank you, Joseph!"
