The After 7 Years

The After 7 Years
Troublemaker

As soon as the elevator door opened I stepped out. Walk towards apartment number 217 with a slightly dull white front door. This 25 square meter apartment is dominated by gray and white with several ornamental plants that I put in several locations. I really like ornamental plants. Some of my collections even include rare at prices that are arguably quite expensive. For a hobby, I did not hesitate to spend more money even though I eventually had to save money in terms of food.

I put the box with the stuff I brought from the office onto the glass table. Sit on the sofa, then lean back on the soft sofa backrest. My first day as an official unemployed worker started today. I closed my eyes, trying to devise plans that I would likely make during this vacancy. The only thing I've thought about since I decided to resign is writing. A hobby that I had once been in college and managed to produce a finished manuscript.

Inside my laptop folder, there were dozens of raw ideas waiting to be executed. Working as a webtoon editor didn't give me time to complete my own projects. Every day, I am preoccupied with the works of others, helping them pin down ideas during a standoff, encouraging them, giving advice and advice, and helping them build big names.

Working behind the scenes is fun and gives me a valuable experience, but it really takes up my time. Even just developing a hobby cannot. Even so, there were many things I learned during these five years and after giving up all of them, within a few days I was sure that the thing called loneliness and loss of direction would come to me. Before experiencing it, there must be activities to occupy yourself.

I got up from the couch. Take a journal neatly tucked away on the table then start filling it up. I also made a list of activities for the next twenty-one days. And who would have thought that putting together a plan in that amount of time was such a difficult thing? I only wrote until the seventh day. The rest, I think about it later.

All the lists I made were dominated by activities in the house. Read, write, cook, find inspiration by going to the city library, as well as exercising. I can't ignore that activity. During this time, I was too lazy to exercise so the fat in my body started to stand out and interfere.

In my old folder, there was a script that I just wrote about five chapters and stuck. About the unique relationship between a employee and the financial manager of a company. While trying to read again, I found a strange pleasure instead. Even a big idea broke my mind.

I hurriedly opened the word processing software, the blank pages that were ready to be filled with words gave me encouragement. Ideas that appeared a few seconds later I slowly poured in the form of writing. Word-by-word form sentences, and once sentences are collected, a long series of paragraphs are formed.

As my middle energy focused on writing, my phone suddenly rang. My imagination instantly evaporated replaced by resentment because I had never felt that feeling for a long time. A name bearing Ko Hae Soo appears on the phone screen. I lazily fetched the call and then stuck the phone to my ear.

“Halo?” pissed me.

“You really have heart, Kyung Hee. You left without saying goodbye to me? All this time, what do you think of me, huh?” Is he drunk?

“You drunk?” many ensure.

“No. I've never been drunk. You ... you know for yourself that I have a problem with alcohol.”

“You where?”

“You want to see me?” She smiles. I can tell by just hearing his voice. “Didn't you go back to Namhae? You want to come all the way from Namhae to see me?” Who is the fool who gave him information?

“You where?” ask me one more time.

“Ordinary place,” he said reminds me of a tent stall where we used to both eat and chat after work. “And remember! I ... no .. drunk. I'm fine, Kyung Hee.”

Reluctant to continuously listen to him babbling, I immediately turned off the phone connection. Save the file I just wrote and then close the laptop.

The tent stall where we used to spend time is located not far from the apartment area. It only took me about ten minutes to walk there with normal steps, but because I was a little worried about Hae Soo I sped up to get there faster.

Hae Soo is my best friend. Sometimes it sucks but he's a good guy. Our friendship has been going on for about five years, precisely since I was accepted to work at BlueToon. At that time, we met during a job interview. Chatting while waiting for my interview turn and somehow I found a match with the man. As a result, we exchanged numbers and from there our friendship began.

Our apartment is close together, just a few units apart. That's what made me feel like God meant us to be friends. Who would have thought that the person you accidentally met during a job interview was your own neighbor?

A crowd was seen from a distance. The location is right in front of the tent stall where I and Hae Soo used to meet. Intrigued by what made the crowd swarm, I walked quickly closer. Breaking through some people who look fun watching, then found the figure of Hae Soo who was fighting with a man with a white sweater.

He beat him several times on the ground, but because his opponent was strong enough the position instead turned around. Now Hae Soo is beaten and the punch is really very hard until his nose and lips bleed. Feeling worried, I screamed.

“It's enough!”

Hearing my screams they stopped hurting each other. Looking at me and at that moment I immediately recognized the figure who was looking down on Hae Soo. Now I'm sure he's really Kim Young Bum, the guy I knew when I was in college.

Hae Soo releases his grip from Young Bum's neck, and Young Bum lowers the fist ready to be cast onto Hae Soo's face.

“What are you doing here, huh?” my shout approached the two then pushed Young Bum away from Hae Soo's body.

My eyes focused on Hae Soo, but even so I also faintly noticed that Young Bum was watching me. Does he recognize me? Ah .. of course. How could he forget the figure of the woman he hated the most. I'm sure that's exactly the reason why Young Bum dodged it this afternoon.

I helped Hae Soo wake up. Checking the wound on his face was quite severe. There are bruises in some areas and nosebleeds.

“You stupid? Why are you fighting, huh?” my question is still filled with frustration.

Hae Soo uses her black sleeves to wipe the blood off her nose. His sharp gaze pointed at Young Bum. “He's really brash at me!” Hae Soo points at Young Bum who is now standing while wiping the blood on her lips –I just realized that she was also injured. “He who started the problem and ...”

“That guy started,” said a woman suddenly pointed at Hae Soo. “He who first hit the man,” he continued to blame. I don't know who is right and who is wrong, I can't decide. What is clear is that Hae Soo's condition is really bad. I should have defended him as a friend.

“What really happened?” I turned towards Young Bum while looking at him fixedly.

“I'll get compensated. Just write the nominal and account number.” Is he really Young Bum? How could Young Bum say such a thing? “This is my name card. And you can call me for damages. I won't run away,” he said giving a sack of names then passed past me.

“Wait!” I shouted, but not at all disturbed. He kept walking away until I finally walked quickly towards him then pulled his sweater arm. “Do you think all problems can only be solved with money? Don't you know what an apology is?”

“Sorry?” He grins. “Are you sure I'm wrong?” continued.

“However you beat him,” reply me.

“Didn't he beat me?” Arrgh ... This guy really .... “I don't have much time. If you want, you can ask me for damages and I'll take this matter for granted. If you do not want and want to bring this matter to the legal path, I also do not mind because there are many witnesses here,” he said in a really annoying tone. “Think of it!” he said while pointing at my face and then passed away.

“Sunbae!” my yelling.
