This afternoon was exhausting for Nita. He worked as a teacher at First High School, he sometimes added 2 hours of teaching for tutoring. That he did to increase his income considering he costs a lot.
Her husband also works, but she has a sister in the village who is still in school, making her have to work extra hard. His mother is a widow, Nita did not have the heart to see her mother who had aged slamming bones, let alone often sick. He was willing to split half his salary to transfer to his hometown.
Arriving at home, he was presented with a messy house. Smelled an unpleasant aroma that disturbed his sense of smell, but because he was used to it, Nita did not close her nose at all.
"Astagfirullah..," said Nita then entered the house that is not locked, inside there must have been two children who have returned to school.
"Assalamu'alaikum..," said Nita, hoping her children would come to greet her.
"Wa'alaikumsalam Mah, mamah ko long back home, that grandmother was angry," said Riki.
Riki is Nita's first child, she is already in 1st grade High School. After school Nita assigns Riki and Nabila to look after her ailing mother-in-law. Food is always provided Nita before going to teach at the table. There are fruits also in the refrigerator, and there is warm water in the thermos.
Her mother-in-law named Maryati was old, walking with a cane, Maryati was sick with stroke and now things are better, but sometimes senile, childish and irritable. Making no nurse who can last long, because Nita's finances are also mediocre so she began to take care of her own mother-in-law for almost a year.
Nita approached her mother who was in the room, "mother why? What do you want, Mom?" Ask Nita quietly. He's still trying to be patient. In the room already smelled bad, it looks like Maryati peed in the room, whether it was on the mattress or on the carpet. Maryati was reluctant to wear diapers because she complained of itching and discomfort. It certainly makes Nita dizzy instead of playing, feels all wrong and troublesome.
"Mother wants to eat, but she wants to be bribed with Arman" said Maryati, frowning as a child.
"Mas Arman hasn't come home yet, ma'am, let Nita do the bribe, what do you want to eat?" Ask Nita.
"No, I want to eat with Arman," he protested, then threw the pillow next to him in any direction.
"Yaudah, Nita calls Mas Arman yes let me spit it home, but now mom change her clothes yes, let it smell like Mom." persuaded Nita.
"Despite the smell? I don't want to, I don't want to change clothes" Maryati refused, her eyes glaring at Nita.
"Mom, grandma serem?" Nabila said, he stood hiding behind Nita the mother.
Nita who was tired after work, she could not hold back her emotions anymore when she saw her mother-in-law who was stubborn and always angry.
"Well, if you don't want to, I'll wait until Arman comes, but I'm already good nawarin mom, don't know if the mother's clothes smell foul," nita said as she walked away from the mother-in-law's room.
Nabila followed her mother. Nabila who is not close to the grandmother, making her reluctant to be close especially when her grandmother likes to be angry unclear. Maryati is more proud of her other grandchildren, grandchildren of her firstborn who are out of town. Nabila who was a child still felt the scars of his heart, he already understood if the grandmother chose love and did not love him.
Flashbacks
Maryati prepared a birthday cake for Keysa, her grandson from the Word of her firstborn, the 7th birthday of the time. There is a large doll gift there too, it just so happens that Kesya will visit Maryati's house because they live outside the city.
Nabila was present, Kesya was the same age as him. The boy stared at the two-story cake. Cakes that look good, lots of balloons that adorn her grandmother's house today. She was there, but her grandmother didn't think she existed. Maryati prides herself on being first in her class, praising the beautiful Kesya with her shirt.
"Why do grandmothers love Kesya more sister? I have never received a gift from grandma," he said softly, even Nabila now began to cry.
"Dek, if you want to be loved, will you talk to your mother? You don't have to be sad anymore..! Let's congratulate Kesya first, then we go home..!" Take Riki. He also could not bear to see his brother grieving.
They came to the happy grandmother, congratulating Kesya who was hugging a large teddy bear.
"Happy birthday to Kesya" said Nabila. Every now and then she glanced at the doll, Nabila wanted it too.
"Yes, if you want the cake?" Ask Kesya.
"No need, Nabila just ask for Aunt Nita. Nabila also did not bring gifts, right? Just yesterday!" Maryati whispered in Kesya's ear but could be heard by the two children.
Riki who was powerless to see his sister grieving, he immediately invited his sister home. Nabila cried at home all day, locked himself in the room.
Nabila felt that the grandmother did not love him, since the incident that continues to hurt him, he did not want to consider Maryati was his grandmother. He only considers having one grandmother, grandmother from his mother only.

Arman comes, he is angry to see his mother is not noticed and not taken care of by his wife.
"Why did your mother leave it like this? This hour hasn't taken a shower yet, Mah?" Ask Arman.
"Mom wants you, Mas, what can I do" replied Nita.
"You can persuade him!" Reply Arman.
"Susah Mas, you are rich who do not know your mother, stubborn and angry" said Nita defending himself.
"Why don't you want to, mama? It's my mother, your mother too, your grandmother and children, you're old so it's natural that her attitude is so," asked Arman angrily.
Getting old? from the first also mother is so, inner Nita.
Nita sighed slowly, she felt fed up with everything. Nita did mind taking care of her stubborn in-laws long ago. Nita was often hurt by her in-laws, but when she was sick she had to take care of her mother-in-law, while her biological child was like hands off, not even willing to give money for the mother's treatment when Nita is short of money.
"I'm tired, I work too, right? You just find a nurse for mom, and you pay from your pay!" Nita said passed away.
