Papa's Arrival
The Martadinata Family Home.
That night in Andrew's living room just got home from work. I met my dad who had just come from abroad. Indeed, all this time both parents live in Singapore and take care of the company that is there.
"Pa's Night" said Andrew who only got a nod of his head from Surya.
Andrew was sitting on a long sofa, right next to Surya. That night his papa looked cold, unlike the usual Surya. The tall and slightly filled middle-aged man was just silent with a straight look towards the flaming television. It made Andrew awkward to open the conversation.
"Pa ..." Andrew finally tried to open the chat that night.
A few minutes after Andrew's call. The situation remained silent, only the sound was heard from the television. Shortly after that, Surya turned off the television.
"Are you really married?" ask Surya cold.
Andrew was shocked to hear a question from his father that was never expected. Indeed, since this afternoon, Surya has been angry over the phone. But Andrew did not know the cause of his papa speaking that way.
"Why didn't you know you were married?" said Surya with a rising voice.
"Why did you get married secretly? You don't consider your parents papa? Huh uh?" Continue with a still high voice. "Where did you marry Andrew? Papa didn't expect papa's son to secretly marry rich gini!"
Andrew digested word by word that came out of Surya's mouth.
"Where did papa know? Andrew can explain all Pa!" reply Andrew.
"Andrew papa's shy, really shy!" said Surya again.
"Papa's parents know that your son is married to someone else!" continued.
The two men are now looking at each other. The gaze of the two was met with disappointment that emanated strongly from Surya's eyes.
"Well, what do you mean?" ask Andrew.
Surya took his phone from the table in front of him. Fiddled with the phone for a while, opening a photo. He showed the photo to Andrew. The photo left Andrew wide open.
"This is proof!" said Surya ketus with a bitter smile.
The photo shows Andrew dancing with Stella a few days ago on a business trip to Bali. It also shows clearly when Andrew kissed Stella's lips and forehead while on the dance floor.
"Could$ turned out that the photo reached papa," inner Andrew riled. Somehow he told the beginning of the incident to his father.
"The father is all misunderstanding. Andrew can explain everything. It's a long and complicated story Pa." Andrew tried to explain.
The middle-aged man took a rough breath, then exhaled while leaning his back against the sofa. Throwing his phone on the couch with a still-exposed photo.
"What else needs to be explained? It's all clear, Andrew! Emang really is a bad boy. Marriage doesn't tell parents!"
"Papa. Everyone just misunderstood. Actually Andrew is not married to the woman in the photo," said Andrew quickly so as not to be cut by the speech of the father.
Surya's two eyes immediately glared and stared at Andrew sharply. He seemed to be shocked by Andrew's last words.
"What's? You're not married to that woman? And then make out like that in public? Absolutely disgraceful!" Surya is growing angry.
