Episode 9: Eryk and Katherine

Gaea was trying to digest what Rainer had just said.

Stay ....

Stay together ....

With Eryk and Rainer ....

Eryk and Rainer ....

"What!?" exclaims Gaea in shock. "You're kidding me!?"

"Do I look like I'm joking in your eyes?" ask Rainer back.

"Um," Gaea could clearly see the seriousness in Rainer's facial expression, but living together with the young man especially Eryk was so abstract. "I don't want to!"

"Don't be selfish, it's for your own good" Rainer said, "your safety is now far more important" he added before Gaea could return the favor.

"But" Gaea still couldn't take it.

"You know Ava and Lola are on holiday abroad" Rainer said. "Me and Eryk won't let you in the apartment alone. Too risky."

Gaea fell silent, not denying that she was touched by Rainer and Eryk's decision to just stay with them as a woman made her heart uncomfortable.

'I've even read interview magazines that Eryk likes to be bare-chested in his house.'

Gaea had seen Eryk bare-chested but that too in the magazine, she had no idea what he would look like when he saw him with his own eyes Eryk's body, and that was every day.

Eryk has a nice body because he likes to go to the gym too.

"You live here. Point," said Rainer, "if you want to protest, protest at Eryk not me."

"Really?" Gaea was hard to believe, she was sure Rainer was taking part too; the young man said: me and Eryk.

Rainer tried to hold himself back. "I don't know what you're saying" he said. "It has. Just follow," he ordered, without waiting for Gaea's answer, he went out of the house.

Gaea patted her forehead.

'Why did he become like Eryk?'

"I think that's a good idea, Miss Gaea" Sebastian said.

"Huh?" Gaea was a little surprised, he forgot if there was Sebastian, now he was a little disappointed the middle-aged man did not say a word to defend him, he said, or is Sebastian the kind of waitress who doesn't like to interfere with his employer's business? "Why do you think that?"

"This house may look lonely but here also has good security as in Mr. Eryk's penthouse .." said Sebastian.

"Wait," Gaea cut off the conversation. "You said penthouse?"

Sebastian nodded, "Mr Eryk often lives there because in the middle of the city, I guess you guys already live together?"

Gaea did not twitch, what should she say? He even found out that Eryk had a penthouse in the middle of the city. Lying to old man let alone this Sebastian, he felt bad, "Sorry, I didn't live alone with Eryk, even just found out he had a penthouse, I rented an apartment with Lola and Ava."

"Is that so?" Sebastian was a little surprised. "I'm sorry, Miss."

Gaea shook her head, "There's nothing to forgive."

"I thought you guys would stay together considering Mr. Eryk once allowed Miss Katherine to stay there" Sebastian said.

"Kathrine?" one more foreign name that Gaea had never heard of. "Who is he, Sebastian?"

"Sorry," Sebastian realized what he said was too deep, his black eyes glancing doubtfully at Gaea. "I shouldn't have brought him up."

Sebastian's evasive attitude about Katherine makes Gaea even more curious; if you think, Katherine's feminine name for men, she must be a woman, she's a woman, and that made her uncomfortable knowing that Katherine was living alone in the penthouse with Eryk.

Gaea was convinced by this hint that Katherine must be special in Eryk's eyes.

'Of course, a guy like Eryk must have a girlfriend.'

Gaea's feelings are mixed now.

If it was true what she thought that Katherine was Eryk's lover, she could not imagine how devastated Katherine felt when she found out that Eryk proposed to another woman in a crowded place.

But why is Gaea still not heard or visited by Katherine? He believes Katherine must have seen Eryk's proposal given that the proposal went viral on social media.

Unless something's stopping Katherine from meeting him or Eryk. Maybe they were having a big fight or something.

Gaea clenched her hands on her chest which began to feel tight.

Now that it all makes sense, Eryk's remarks during a fake application at the airport may not have been spontaneous remarks but were originally for Katherine.

"My head hurts." lamented Gaea.

"I'm sorry Miss Gaea" Sebastian said. "Sometimes I do talk without thinking."

"No" sergeant Gaea. "It's not your fault Sebastian. I'm just sorry once ...."

Sebastian is confused, "Why? Miss don't think too much about the past, the most important thing now is the feelings of the two of you."

That's what's worrying, there's nothing to fight for because he and Eryk don't have feelings, at least from Eryk.

And again he is not a person who likes to destroy the relationship of others.

No matter how sick her heart was right now, she was sure this was nothing compared to Katherine.

"I have to catch up with Rainer" Gaea said.

Sebastian nodded, "Be careful, Miss Gaea."

"Yes." after answering, Gaea immediately rushed out of the house with a small run; the conversation had taken quite a long time, he was sure Rainer would be angry.

'I'm not in the mood to hear her cold words.'

Gaea slowed down her footsteps, until she finally stopped when she saw Rainer standing next to the car still busy with her phone.

Rainer noticed Gaea's arrival, and put his phone in his pants pocket, "Finally you came, I'm cold here."

Rainer was a little angry.

"Hm ..." Gaea responded soberly, really not in the mood talking.

Rainer could see something strange on Gaea, "What's wrong, ha?" ask her while opening the door for her.

Gaea would rather get in the car than answer.

Rainer enters the car, starts the engine, and runs the car out of the house; he appreciates Gaea refusing to answer questions from him.

Gaea glanced out the window, outside in the snow, covered the road and the trees around it, normally he was always happy when it snowed because the scenery was much more beautiful for him.

Gaea thought of Lola and Ava; if it were not for this diamond ring around her finger, she would have joked with her friends on the plane, thinking of nothing but happiness.

Rainer stopped his car when he saw a red traffic light.

Gaea took advantage of this opportunity, "Hey, Rainer." he called out slowly.

"Hm?"

"Did Eryk have a lover?" ask Gaea.

Rainer exhaled, which made Gaea bow to look at her gloomy fingers.

"It's too late" Rainer said. "Eryk does have a lover but to me, I never liked him."

"Why?" ask Gaea wonder.

"Katherine is indeed a good woman but I can't find her background." Rainer explained.

Gaea rolled her eyeballs "Really Rainer? You judge someone just from that?" tanyanya did not believe. He does find Rainer sometimes cold but this time on a different level.

Judging someone deserved or not just through self-identity is unacceptable especially Rainer also assess if Katherine is a good woman.

Gaea has no idea how Eryk and Rainer think.

"I told you, me and Eryk aren't good men" Rainer defended himself. "I'm entitled to know that, but Eryk is just Eryk being blinded by his love for Katherine being stubborn if she's a good woman."

Hearing Rainer describe Eryk's feelings to Katherine made his heart feel pierced by something sharp. He knew Eryk had a lover but heard how selfish the young man was maintaining a woman who was not himself made him short of breath.

Now Gaea has to stay with Eryk which makes her likely to see Katherine often and watch Eryk show his love for her in front of her.

As if the wound in nature is not enough to add salt on it.

Rainer looked at Gaea who turned moody, then said slowly, "You like Eryk?" tanyanya flat.

Gaea was stunned to hear it; her facial expression must have been too heartbroken until Rainer asked like that, "I .." she stopped answering. "No."

"You're not a smart liar" Rainer said, "denying with such a sad face is not a good choice."

Gaea patted her forehead slowly.

How could he put on a flat face when his heart was hurt like this? Why would he choose to lie?

Gaea needs something that can distract her, and she knows where it is, "Can you turn left?"

"But it's the opposite of the road to the apartment." Rainer protested.

"I know, I want to take something important for me" Gaea said.

Rainer thought for a moment, and finally obeyed the young woman's will.

"Where are we going?" ask Rainer curiously.

With a big smile, Gaea replied, "Pet shop."
