If at an early stage, ascites can be treated with diuretic tablets. But when the fluid deposits are more and more, the fluid must be removed by installing a long hose under the skin to remove the fluid (function ascites or paracentesis). The emergence of ascites in cirrhosis sufferers is at risk of causing peritonitis or infection in the abdominal cavity is dangerous.

In patients with alcohol-related liver disease, especially hepatitis or alcoholic cirrhosis, the liver cannot function to remove toxins from the blood. As a result, the level of ammonia toxins in the blood is getting higher. This condition is called hepatic encephalopathy.
