It was getting dark, but we were still in the hospital where Marie-Jake's mother was being treated. Almost 2 hours we talked a lot with Jake's mother, she started to know me as Axel's girlfriend, not Jake. When Jake asks about her mother's longing for him, Marie screams hysterically and berates Jake. Now, I understand my life is much luckier than Jake's. He had to swallow the bitterness of being left behind by his father and lost temporarily from his mother's memory. I should be more grateful because God still has the best father for me.
We were sitting in the hospital park, a frappucino in Jake's hand, which he had sipped until half was left. And a cigarette narrowed between his index and middle fingers, "I'm sorry Stella" he said.
"For what?" answer me with a flat look.
"My words yesterday,"
"No need, Jake.I'm overreacting.aha.ha.." I chimped in with a forced laugh.
"...All these years I've forgotten that word, and only yesterday I heard it again"
Jake looked at my face for a moment, before looking straight back. He smoked his last cigarette and stepped on it.
"You want to eat before we go home?" askinya.
"I want to go home, right away,"
"Alright, then tonight I'll cook for you" Jake said, rising from his seat.
We left the hospital when the sky was dark, Jake stopped at a supermarket in the middle of town to buy some ingredients I didn't know, knowing I wasn't good at cooking. No, actually I'm not good at everything.
On the way to the dormitory, the atmosphere in the car was a little more fluid, we sang and told each other a lot. Apparently behind Jake's annoying attitude, he is someone who has a high sense of humor. If only he wasn't a bitch, maybe I'd fall in love with him.
"Oh my God, what are you talking about Stella!" I scream in my heart.
***
"Uhh.." I laid my body on the dorm couch. stared at the ceiling of the flat, then closed my eyes for a moment.
While Jake has been busy preparing for dinner at the mini bar in our flat. I'm not so sure what he's doing right now. A guy like Jake? Can cook?
"Stella. Come here" Jake's voice sounded quite loud from the middle room.
"Are you sure about your cooking?" I asked him hesitantly, making the look on his face that was previously beaming sour.
"I always do things very well, compared to you," he replied.
I just grunted in annoyance while cutting out a small piece of Jake's cooked beef, then stuffed it in my mouth.
It tastes.
"Jake, you should be cooking for me every day"
I devoured the steak in less than ten minutes. So did Jake, who also finished the meat and salad with nothing left.
Jake brought the beer bottle to the living room, I caught up with him and sat down on the couch near him.
"Will there be a conjuring movie, will you watch it?" ask Jake.
"Of course. please turn off the lights," I'm among those who like horror movies with the sensation of wanting to watch them in the dark or the lights go out, but after that I was always afraid to do anything alone. I am weird and bad.
Jake rushes to turn off the light in the living room, we're just shone from the television. I pitched a beer to each of the glasses while waiting for the commercial before the movie started.
I covered half of my face with a hand pillow, while Jake remained in his braiding style only folding his hands under his chest.
as the door scene opened itself, we shouted compactly...
"Ohhh..."
my reflexes and Jake's close to each other, the distance of his face was only a few centimeters from me. Our eyes met each other, Jake's warm gaze made my heart rustle fast.
Then...
Seriate..
