Soul Land II: Unrivaled Tang Sect
Chapter 1.3 – Youth With Spirit Eyes

Although Huo Yuhao had a map guide, this was still the first time he left around the Duke’s Mansion. Because of this, he was unable to avoid the road several times, and he had to keep asking others for help to find the correct route to his destination.

This is what is called ‘reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling ten thousand mil’. He felt like he had learned a lot after just a few days. His mood also increased a lot without the suppression and restrictions that were usually imposed inside the Duke’s Mansion. The interesting things he had seen so far during his journey had him endlessly excited. He's still young. After his body recovered, he did not feel tired while traveling. Instead, it could be said that he was a bird that left his cage. This was the first time he had fun after his mother died.

“I've been walking for six days, I have to get there immediately,” Huo Yuhao carefully checked the paper map in his hand, he said, and then look in the direction indicated by the trees on the roadside. He decided that he was already very close to the Great Star Dou Forest.

Huo Yuhao wiped off the sweat on his forehead as he walked into the forest by the roadside. As soon as he sat in the shade of the tree, intending to meditate and recover his spirit power, the sound of flowing water suddenly began to echo in the air. This voice immediately caused Huo Yuhao to jump in excitement.

The presence of water signifies that he can improve his lifestyle!

Huo Yuhao quickly closed his eyes, and quietly listened to the water source. As someone who possessed a spiritual-type martial spirit, his six senses were much stronger than ordinary people. This was especially true when he closed his eyes. When he closed his eyes, his other five senses would increase in strength by a margin.

He quickly identified where the sound of water was coming from, and carefully advanced through the forest. The reason why he was so careful was not because the forest ground was uneven, but because he was afraid that his clothes would be torn by the bushes in the forest. These are the clothes her mother made for her.

He found his target without walking more than two hundred meters, which turned out to be a small three-meter-wide river. The cold water inside was so clear that you could see straight down, and it created a relaxed and refreshing feeling.

Huo Yuhao cheered happily, quickly took off his clothes, and then directly jumped into the river, which was not even two feet deep. The last time he took a shower was two days ago. The journey of the past two days had covered his body with sweat, and bathing in this cold and clear water was simply a pleasure that could not be more relaxed.

After completely bathing, a brilliant feeling encompassed his entire body as he walked out of the river. He thought to himself, Since I have already arrived at the Great Star Dou Forest, I will rest in peace here.

He changed into clean clothes, went on to wash his dirty clothes in the river as well, and then hung them on a tree branch nearby. He then took out a tree branch that was about three feet long.

He used his right hand to pull a dagger from his scabbard at his waist. The dagger was about forty centimeters long, and the scabbard was dark green. The scabbard was made of hard leather, although he did not know if it was the skin of an animal, or of a spirit beast. He only knew that it was a gift his father had given his mother. It was always appreciated by her mother, so much so that her mother only gave it to her shortly before she died.

The handle of the dagger was about seventeen centimeters in length, and had absolutely no beautiful decoration — it gave people a simple and unadorned feeling. Not only does it feel natural to hold, but it also feels very comfortable.

It also did not make a sound when unsheathed. The twenty-three centimeter long blade was like clear autumn water, and it seemed to be transparent. Huo Yuhao could not help but shiver due to the dense cold air around his knife, although he was somewhat used to it.

‘White Tiger Dagger’. This is the name of the dagger, which his mother said.

As Huo Yuhao looked at the White Tiger Dagger, the excitement in his eyes instantly turned into a deep sorrowful look. He seemed to see his mother's figure on the reflection of the sword.

While holding the branch that had just broken off in one hand, Huo Yuhao used the White Tiger Dagger to shave his front. When the blade, which gave off a dim blue light, cut through the tree branch, it was like cutting tofu. After two or three pieces, the front of the tree branch has been sharpened.

He sheathed the White Tiger Dagger at his waist, and walked back to the river with a sharpened twig.

Suddenly, Huo Yuhao made a lightning quick movement, and stabbed the sharp branch he was holding into the river.

“Pu—” When he raised his hand back, and turned the tree branch up, a half-foot-long mackerel appeared at the end.

For a layman, stabbing a fish is definitely something that requires technique. However, this was something that was very easy for Huo Yuhao, who had the help of the Spirit Eye to help him accurately determine the position of the fish.

A small fish alone was naturally not enough for him. After a while of part-time work, he pierced ten mackerels that varied in length from seventeen centimeters, to thirty-three centimeters.

“It's good, at least I can last for two days. It wouldn't rot very easily if I roasted it too. “

Huo Yuhao happily crouched down next to the river, and used the White Tiger Dagger to spill the mackerel fish. The sharp White Tiger Dagger easily managed to cut through the fish, no matter if it was its scales, chest, or stomach. This was absolutely no problem for Huo Yuhao, who had been doing menial work with his mother since he was young. The ten fish were all exterminated after fifteen minutes.

He looked for some large leaves in the forest, and rinsed them in the river. Then, he placed the heartbroken fish on the wet leaves. Afterwards, he found some dried twigs to use as firewood, and lit a fire next to the river after a while of work.

Huo Yuhao only had salt available as a seasoning, but that was enough for something like grilled fish. He attached the clean mackerel fish to thin branches, and rubbed salt into their stomachs. Then he took out some leaves known as Purple Basil from his bag, which he had obtained in the forest a few days ago. He washed and separated the Purple Basil before pushing it into the belly of the fish. Only after this did he start grilling the fish on the grill that he made using some thick branches.

It didn't take long for an unusual scent to spread from the flames he made. It smelled very heavy, and contained a certain attraction that only he had. As Huo Yuhao slowly turned the mackerel fish, they slowly turned into gold. This, accompanied by that heavy scent, was extremely alluring.

Originally, he had only grilled two fish, and set aside the others. If he roasted too many fish in one go, it would be very easy for trouble to occur when he controlled the fire.

“How fragrant!”

A happy and gentle cry echoed in that moment. The shout sounded clear and pure, but it still shocked Huo Yuhao.

He looked towards the source of the sound, and saw two people walking along the side of the river. The person walking in front was a girl who looked to be around fifteen or sixteen years old, and had long black hair tied into a ponytail behind her. He was wearing a set of well-fitting light blue warrior robes, which seemed to decipher his young and delicate body that was filled with youth.

He had phoenix-like eyes, which were large and bright. She also had a raised nose, an almost perfect oval face, and a beautiful and gentle face that was a little pleased as she fixed her gaze on the grilled fish Huo Yuhao.

The one who followed behind him was a young man who was the same age as him. His slender body was tall and straight, while his short, blue hair shone with a jade-like luster in the sunlight. Even though he wasn't old, he gave people some sort of scientific feeling. His handsome face had a lazy yet warm smile on it, and his hands were placed on the back of his head. He also looked towards Huo Yuhao with an interested look. However, he did not see the grilled fish, but at Huo Yuhao himself.
