CHAPTER 1: THE RAID ON THE HEADQUARTERS

I'm Dayan. I am an Indonesian military officer from Sumatra. I was 15 years old and I chose to leave my family to fight alongside the soldiers and warriors of freedom. My family is a rich family. My father was a landlord in the village. Even so, my father preferred to be a Dutch follower and became an accomplice of Colonel Dam Brigjer. My father also forced me to submit to Dutch rule but I refused. That's why I left home and joined the fighters. My mother supported me but my father let me go and said "YOU'VE BEEN DAMN TO YOUR FATHER!!! FROM TODAY I SWEAR, IF I SEE YOU AGAIN THEN I MYSELF WILL DEFINITELY KILL YOU. FROM TODAY ON, YOU ARE NOT MY SON!!!

Pekanbaru, Thailand

That morning, as usual, I made my bed. This is not my home, but our hideout of the fighters. 3 days ago, the Dutch and Japanese forces fought it out in this city and left a former battle. House destroyed houses, streets, multi-storey buildings, vehicles, everything's a mess. Many of our troops also died because we also participated in the battle on the Japanese side. The reason we joined the Japanese forces was because they promised to free us from the Dutch atrocities by attacking their headquarters. That's why we joined them to expel Dutch troops from the city of Pekanbaru.

Suddenly there was the sound of a plane speeding towards the battlefield. And.really. A B5N bomber was seen flying at the battle site. However, it was a bomber aircraft belonging to the Japanese Air Force.

10 Trucks with the Japanese flag stopped just behind the fighters. And all the Japanese troops descended and marched in formation.

100 Of these fighters advanced in front of the Japanese army. The troops brought by the Japanese were about 130 regular infantry troops, 40 assault-style troops, 30 troops dared to die (suicide bombs), and 3 troops fighting.

Dayan who was still kneeling was gaping watching the battle that he had never witnessed in his life. Japanese troops are willing to kill themselves using bombs on the body, forward without fear of being bombed by bullets, and close-range war that he had never witnessed as long as he and his friends fought.

All this time, DAYAN and his comrades only use Guerrilla tactics which attack and surprise the enemy and then retreat without having time to let the enemy counterattack. But, what he saw this time was, an army that had a burning fighting spirit. Suicide in the battlefield. And the strange rifle that has a knife at the end of it is something that DAYAN has just seen in his life

Dayan also tried to stand up, with full confidence, he stabbed his left leg which is where the bullet lodged. He took out the bullet forcefully using his knife.
