A slightly dim atmosphere. Safa was awake for a third of the night. The girl yawned, she turned to look at Afin who did not let go of her hand hugging Safa.
"But! Bang Arif's..." The girl moved her husband's body to wake up. He just wanted to ask her to pray at night. All of you, as a sign of gratitude for having reached this point.
The cold that reaches minus fifteen degrees Celsius does make Safa lazy to wake up. However, not one of the highest palaha is when we take water wudu at unusual circumstances. Like in winter here.
"Bang—" Safa again moves Arif's body which is very difficult if awakened.
And sure enough the man moved just to change his position. A breath sounded on Safa's tiny lips. He won't give up because of this.
"Bang Arif let's get up. We take a shower, we pray the night together. Ever and again.... Bang's!"
"It's cold, Fa." His murmuring further immersed his face into the thick blanket. Apparently the man was awake.
"I know, but it's good. Come onl... Bang—"
The man opened his eyes. Although heavy he still tried to stay awake in a supine position. Then he turned to Safa.
The man smiled sweetly as he touched Safa's cheek. "Five more minutes." she asked before covering her entire face with a blanket.
"Astaghfirullah al 'azim. Let's wake. You said you wanted to pray at night, right? We also have to take a shower before dawn."
"Hava boyle sogukken du almayi sevmiyorum." He muttered in a heavy voice while hugging Safa's waist circumference. (I hate taking a shower in cold weather like this.)
"What the hell, Safa doesn't understand." The girl laughed as she ruffled Arifin's smiling hair.
"For speed. And want again. That means–" he replied of origin.
"Eh, Brother!" Safa patted her husband's arm. Because of what he said earlier, reminding them of their activities last night.
"No, no, not that! I'm kidding, honey." Afin rose only to kiss his wife who was always happy when he heard the word 'honey' coming out of Arifin's mouth.
That morning they were really feeling in love drunk. Even to get out of bed until it takes a few minutes. It was because Safa was already anxious and finally dragged her husband to stop playing around.
....
"Assalamualikum warahmatullah.." the man is now fluent in reading prayers. Even the memorization of short letters increased. They say hello after performing tahajud prayers together. "What is this?" He asked while laying his head on Safa's lap.
"Naji while waiting for the dawn adzan."
"The body here is old, Fa. Because until dawn will really rise." Afin kissed Safa's hand many times.
"What time?"
"Yes, they are all Hanafi majority. So the dawn prayer at the end of time."
Safa mangosteen she just found out about it.
"In that case, we continue to follow our School. Let's get up don't slog."
"I swear to be obedient this tired."
Safa smile. "Eagerness, Bang. Worship must be enforced. If you're used to it, it'll be comfortable afterwards."
Afin. They return to their next routine. Then perform dawn prayers by following the right time, according to the guidance of their School in Indonesia.
🍃🍃🍃
The sky outside was starting to light up. Safa could see the white snow along the sidewalk after getting off the taxi.
He was waiting for the man with the thick black winter jacket, along with the cream sweater inside was busy contacting someone from across.
While he focused on the others. This area is quite quiet even though there are still some people passing by on foot. But not as crowded as the area where he stayed.
A taxi stopped in front of him as well. Two men and a woman came out of the taxi. Afterwards, he spoke with laughter in Turkish. The woman who did not wear the hijab embraced the neck circumference of the man who was with her earlier.
And an unexpected sight for the gray-veiled woman. They kissed right in front of Safa's eyes. The girl froze in place. Until the man by his side immediately moved to face Safa in front, as if to be a shield, so that Safa's holy eyes did not see it longer.
"You must have been surprised, earlier?"
"Yes, Bang. Oh, my God, how could they do that in public?"
"That's normal here. And no one will rebuke him."
"Maybe they're husband and wife."
Afin chuckles. "They're High School kids. His uniform showed that."
"Well?!" The woman looked over while stopping her steps.
"That's normal. Don't be surprised. Here the majority of the people are adherents of Islam. Even 99 percent. But they all belong to secular Islam. There are obedient. But not much. Try it, you ask them if they know the names of prayers? The answer is mostly ignorant, Fajr, Dzuhur, Ashar, Magrib, Isya."
Safa's dumbfounded. All this time he knew Turkey is a country that is thick with its Islamic history. Especially the story of Muhammad Al Fatih who he greatly admired. It is famous for Muslims all over the world. What is happening to Turkey now?
Could this be the reason Bang Afin did not know Islam before, even though his religion is Muslim? –Safa murmured in his heart. Remembering Afin yesterday said he lived here for a year.
A horn breaks Safa's daydream. The man next to him smiled and waved his hand.
"Alhamdulillah, that's my uncle. Yuk.." he asked while holding Safa's hand.
The two of them got into the car immediately after rebuking first. Uncle Emir willfully pick up here. Because the distance to the tomb of Arifin's father is different directions if they have to pick them up at the hotel.
Arriving at a tomb whose location is like a lush hill with trees that most of the leaves have fallen.
The girl stood following the Uncle Emir who was also standing while reciting a prayer. Safa did not find much difference, until the woman could still follow. The man with the round peci kept chanting the prayer verses that were closed with Aamiin.
Afterwards, Afin placed a flower on his father's grave. While speaking Turkish. He also grabbed Safa's shoulders and said her name. Seen Uncle smiled looking at that while occasionally chiming in.
After the pilgrimage is over. They immediately visited the house of Uncle Emir and his wife Zaenab. The woman was veiled, like an Arab, at a glance.
"You got a lot of diem?" Afin asked while holding Safa's hand. The two are currently in a mini garden behind Uncle Emir's house.
"You know how else. Safa doesn't understand your language. Can't talk either" he replied with a soft laugh.
"Yes too."
"But what was Brother talking about at Baba's grave?"
"Emmm, just saying I came with my wife. His name is Safa" Afin replied as he was.
The girl smiled happily upon hearing Afin's confession. Because he seems honest.
"Keep said Amca Emir.I brought a beautiful wife with a heavenly aura."
"MashaAllah.." he murmured. "Wouldn't exaggerate, would you?"
"What am I exaggerating for. The fact is, Kok." Afin pulled Safa's flushed cheeks. "I was lucky, he said, when he saw you. Make no mistake, my uncle obeyed. So he could see the water on someone's face. Whether she was among the girls who often doused her face with water wudu or not."
"MashaAllah..." Safa. With that compliment he was afraid to even become ujub.
"Uncle also still has a lineage from the previous great scholars, in the heyday of the Ottomans."
"Well..means Baba too, including you?" Ask amazed.
Afin nodded, but then fell silent for a moment. "Unfortunately, I wasn't that long."
Safa smile. "No papa. May you still be blessed, with the light of faith in your heart. Because you're still good-natured."
"Aamiin..."
Soon the voice of Uncle called asking them to have lunch inside because Bibi Zaenab was ready with a typical Turkish dish.
