I heard clearly that Mamah said she couldn't tell me. Explain honestly to me the reason mom and dad separated. Am I wrong to blame you for that?
Honestly, my heart was torn when I heard from Mbah uti that my father would not stay home with us anymore. I who was still Junior High thought, oh maybe because his father worked far away. But, there was a brother telling me clearly that they had made a divorce.
Just imagine this Junior High child at that time playing a role as if he did not know anything. Since then, I have always blamed my mother for separating from my father. Why so? Because mama never told me the reason for the separation.
Many told me that it was because my father was unemployed. It has long not given a living to mama and also me. But, for me, the money can be sought. Money cannot replace family. Didn't we?
Why did mama not survive? He chose to release his father. I just want a harmonious whole family. But mom broke that hope.
"Egoo friend! Why should I split with my father? I didn't buy expensive things, no problem. Why does Mom always make money with you?" My brother came out for holding back anger.
"What the hell, Gan? Mamah banged her bones alone, do you not pity? Why always defend your father? Did he ever give you what you asked for?" refute Mamah.
"He gave unfortunately sincerely to Gandi."
Mamah faced towards me, "What is that Mamah does not do? Sorry if I can't give a whole family to you. But please, take care of your feelings. At least don't ask anything about our breakup. Later, there comes a time when you will know. Not now, Nang. Mom just wants to keep our mental sanity."
Since then, I have not asked my mother why she divorced. I assume that Mamah asked to separate because of money matters.
But this evening made me wonder. What is my mother hiding from me? Wasn't I old enough to know the reason for my own parents' separation.
This is Aunt Shofi. Wearing the event invites mamah to the reunion event. I can fail later in my plan. I have to ask you not to come to the show.
After Aunt Shofi came home, I took the reunion invitation that my mother left me with. Okay, I'm gonna have Mom go with me.
"Sir, do you still have patients?" I asked Ma'am Banun.
"Still, Gan. Why?" This one assistant is always busy putting on her face.
"No, just ask. Where are you going, anyway?"
Mbak Banun immediately ran towards the big mirror. I'm telling you the truth, it's a lot of makeup. It makes me unable to comment.
I saw Mamah coming out of the examination room with her patient. "Tumben son of Mamah here. What's up?" ask Mamah.
"Gandi's friend is looking for a new laptop." Without expression I said it to Mamah.
"When?"
"The 18th is tomorrow on the red date" I replied.
"The money is not enough to buy a laptop as you wish, Gandi. Mom is still trying to collect it. You told Mamah yourself that the laptop wasn't urgent."
I racked my brain to let Mama go with me. "I asked the father."
Mamah sighed resignedly. "As far as you."
I immediately rushed to find my phone. Calling father's number. Once connected, I immediately said my wish.
"Mother doesn't have any money, son. Later huh?" said the Father from across. I swallowed the disappointment. It is true, my father never gave what I asked.
I immediately disconnected the phone. Anxiety hit me. Hurry to mama's room. At that moment the door opened a little. Mom is talking to someone on the phone.
"Please sell, yes, to buy a Gandi laptop. Soon huh?"
I paused my intention to whine. Without forcing me, the woman I always blame is constantly sacrificing for me. Makes me feel more guilty.
I went back to the room. Mom knew I had just heard it.
"Why sad?" tanyakanya.
"What else are you selling?"
"Sell gold. If for school purposes it must be purchased, if the money is not enough yes it means that there must be sacrificed."
"Laptop om said slow, if it is necessary to support the school you should buy." Mom still wants to buy me a new laptop.
"Your father has no money, right?" tanyakanya. I can only nod slowly. Shame to reveal the truth.
I looked into my mama's eyes, "Gandi doesn't need that laptop yet. Gandi just didn't want Mamah to go to the reunion."
It looks very clear mamah's face is confused about my words. "Why?"
"No, absolutely not," I replied. "If Mamah maksa stays, it means Gandi has to come."
Mom laughed at me. What's so funny?
"It's good if you want to come. Mumpung is still on school holidays. So Mamah's aide for a week seems fun, Gan."
I stared at the laughing man. "Gandi is going to sleep, Mah."
"Okay, good night, Nang." Mom got out of my room.
I checked my phone. I got a message from Rania. He's my classmate, rather a new kid. Moving from Sulawesi. I don't know why he used to talk to me.
Rania: "Gan, vacation only at home is not exciting."
Me : "Try out of the house, play the same bocil. Must be exciting."
Rania: "House of the police office area, where is there a leak this hour outside?"
Rania: "Take me to your house. Let me not get saturated."
This kid why suddenly ask to play at home? You weird Rania. But, fun also if cycling around several villages together.
Me: "Round the village on a bike, dare?"
Rania: "Don't get me wrong, boss! Tomorrow I'll take you with me. Sharelock now! Hurry along!"
I laughed reading it. Not very impatient with this girl. Immediately I sent the location of the house, if not for sure later tonight I terrorized it.
I sent a voice message, "I'm sleepy. Bye."
Rania: "Sleep, prepare your physique to fight me tomorrow!"
I don't reply to him anymore. Closing your eyes is better than replying to Rania's message. The next day, I looked for the whereabouts of mama no longer exist.
I read the message he left on the doorstep. It turned out that there was a birth last night, but it could not be handled. Therefore mamah has disappeared since morning, apparently went to the hospital to refer.
Rania: "I'm in front of your house."
I open the door immediately. There was a man I expected to be just as old as mamah, and a chatty girl who always terrorized me.
I cheered the man. He seemed curious about the midwife signpost.
"Let's go in, Om."
"Om doang's? Me?" protest the girl.
"Yes go in!" I replied a little bit upset. The man just laughed at our way of communication.
"I'll get ready first. Um, there's water and a little snack. Please enjoy. Mom is referring patients to the hospital. Sorry I can't say hello."
The man just smiled and nodded. I hurried to prepare.
"Assalamu'alaikum, Gan, make Mamah tea." Mama's voice sounded. Must have gone home.
"Astaghfirullah, sorry not to know if there is a tam.
I saw Mamah and om Rania both looking at each other.
