Chapter 6 The Arrival of Applicants

The waiter dressed me very pretty, because I was the head of the family. Because I'm not a handicapped girl. Previously they did not have to bother dressing me up because I never went out of the residence. In addition, they sided more with Trevor who at that time held power in this family. Trevor must have asked them to ignore me.

Why am I dressed today? I'll meet an important guest. It doesn't really matter either, but I have to look beautiful to impress her. Men are only interested in beautiful and perfect girls. I'm gonna make Keith fall in love at first sight with me. 

The sound of knocking on the door sounded.

The butler came to whisper to me, "Miss, there's a guest waiting in the living room."

He's come, it's time to launch my action. I grinned, asking the butler to prepare a dish for her. The butler lowered his head and immediately carried out his duty.

I walked towards the living room with graceful steps. I opened the door of the living room excitedly, but she was not the person I wanted to meet. My seringaiku disappeared. I stared at him intently as I entered and sat down before him.

"What are you here for? I should have made an appointment with me first" I said.

"Do I need to make an appointment with you first? I can come here at any time because I'm your brother's friend" he replied.

Trevor's not here. Rumors about him have spread. I knew he was in the residence of the person in front of me. It must have been Trevor who asked him to come here to persuade me.

"Trevor is not here. I'm sure you know where he is, Derek," I said.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Derek elak smiled.

Derek Rockyard, Trevor's best friend. They have been friends since childhood. I've often seen him play here with Trevor. Often Trevor also visited him at the Rockyard residence. Trevor introduced me to Derek. I don't like it. It's as if someone warned me something bad would happen if it got close to Derek. It was like he was keeping a very big secret.

Derek is the current head of the Rockyard family. Even so his strength was weakest after Trevor. However, he was able to master complicated magic unlike Trevor who could only use basic magic.

"Just tell me what you need, I don't have time." I turned my face away from Derek.

He's wasting my time. My days are getting grim because of this guy. At first I wanted to have fun, but it immediately turned to annoyance.

"I want to propose to you, Diana."

I widened my eyes for a moment, then turned towards him. Among the cover letters I received was Derek's name. I didn't expect him to be this persistent to propose to me. I'm guessing this is Trevor's plan. Because he didn't beat me, Trevor asked Derek to help me. Then I will be sacrificed like the previous life. Trevor will be the head of the family again. Good plan, but I'll derail it 

"I rejected my proposal. Your business is done, isn't it? You can go." I stood up and kicked him out.

"I won't be home until you agree." Derek stays strong. He was still sitting out of his place.

"I didn't return your cover letter, you should have known that I rejected you. No need to come here. Your actions are in vain" I replied, raising my voice.

They both managed to upset me.  I'm gonna kick Derek out of here, then make the calculations with Trevor.

"What's your reason for rejecting me Diana?" ask Derek.

"Originally you know, I already have a fiancee."

"Lying, you've known me longer than any of your other suitors. Surely you will choose me" Derek replied confidently.

Where did his confidence come from. Getting to know you longer doesn't mean I'm going to pick you. I know there are people out there who are much better than you Derek.

"I told you already. If you don't believe me, please. Get out of here." I kicked him out once again.

I didn't know he could sassy this. I took out a magic ball to attack him, but it was stopped by someone else.

"He already has a fiancee, Mr. Rockyard," said a black-blue-haired person who was suddenly among us.

He clutched Derek's hand back, releasing Derek's contemptuous hand from mine. I know this guy, Keith. Keith threw Derek's hand until his body took a few steps back.

Derek grimaced and looked annoyed.

"Who is his fiancee, Mr Skyrise?" ask Derek.

"I'm Diana's fiancee."

Keith grabbed me and took my hand and raised it. He showed it to Derek.

"Stop pretending, you've never met before. Why get engaged?" ask Derek.

"I sent Diana a cover letter and she accepted my proposal" Keith replied as he looked at me. He looked away, looking at Derek as if he wanted to kick him from here.

Very good acting. It'll make it easier for me to get Derek out of here 

"really. I told you, but you don't believe it. I don't care if we ever meet or not. In fact we were engaged. Keith is so much better than you," I looked at Derek and turned to Keith with a fake smile.

I looked into his blue eyes for a moment. Not daring for long for fear of drowning in the blue sea.

"I still don't accept it. You're engaged to me Diana!" Derek raised his voice.

I don't know what made Derek insist on marrying me. What did Trevor promise him until he kept pushing like this? I don't know I don't care.

Derek came to separate us. Keith pushed him hard until he fell. 

"Stop bothering people's fiancees, Mr. Rockyard," said Keith cynically.

Derek casts his magic as well as Keith. I don't want them to destroy the living room. I have a lot of money but I cannot waste it on something I can prevent.

"Don't fight here. If you're not going to leave, I'll have you battered like your friend, Mr. Rockyard. You know the difference in our strength. You're not as dumb as your friend" I threatened.

Derek clucking. "Sure, you will regret it."

Derek walked out of this room grumbling, leaving us both. I took Keith's hand off. Then, stay away from him. I looked at him coldly. My plan seems to have failed. It might be harder to make himself fall in love with me, but yes. It's all because of Trevor and Derek.

I sat in the guest chair. Keith immediately followed sitting before me.

"It turns out you're cool too, Diana."

I didn't answer, just looked at him. When he had only met for the first time, why could he behave this familiar? As I recall when I first met in his previous life he wasn't like this. Maybe he's interested in me. Or it is smart to pretend to carry out his role.

"May I ask why you accepted my proposal?" ask Keith while holding his neck.

I just kept quiet, handed him the paper. It's called "Contract Engagement Letter".
