William was the first of two children. He has a sister. We lived very hard, I had to work hard to support both of them. A traveling washerman, making serabi in the afternoon, the evening sewing. Morning until morning again spent to make money for us to eat and go to school.
William grew up to be a quiet boy. She was often insulted by her friends for having beautiful blue eyes, they said that William was an illegitimate child because I was raped. William's eyes were a disorder. A beautiful disorder, isn't it?
He never approached women because of inferiority. Although he had finally become the figure he was now, he had never been close to a woman.
I was so happy that night that he came into the room and said your name. He said he couldn't sleep since meeting you. Honestly, I cried happily because I finally felt relieved, my son turned out to be normal.
Chana kept remembering every word that came out of William's mother's mouth.
Bastard son? I even know how painful it is to hear that name attached to us.
"Aren't there any women William approached?" ask Chana to Elizer.
"Since I've worked almost 15 years, it doesn't seem to exist. I was astonished and also happy when asked to keep Non from afar. Non means a lot to her. But, Non ...."
"Say, don't be afraid. What's up?"
"The boss is close to someone right now. Right after she found out that Non was back at Ze."
Chana was not surprised even though her heart felt.
Naturally if William did that, Chana already made him very disappointed.
"May the woman please William."
"Non't get angry?"
Chana shook her head. "I'm happy if he finally has someone. I can only pray that he's happy."
Elizer nodded awkwardly.
"Chana, why are you wearing this shirt? Didn't William give you a new dress?" ask Iksia when they will go to William's mother's invitation.
"I prefer this dress. Simple but beautiful."
"William is upset with you, aren't you afraid he's even more angry? Why aren't you wearing a dress from her?"
"No," Chana replied casually.
"Yes, Mom. Dad likes it, the dress is covered. It's also on dipake with you."
"Daddy is the best anyway."
"Dad ...." Sakya ran over.
"What's running?" ask Iksia who is in Chana's room. Arzhan and his wife are monitoring their son and fearing that he might not be happy.
"The pick has arrived. Also start."
"What is William's men?"
"See, but it's not what I usually see. I've never seen them before."
Chana and her parents were so excited. After Chana was done, they immediately got off, and went to the hotel where the event was held.
The fragrant flower bushes burst out as soon as they enter the party area. Not too many who come but it is certain that those who are there are not random people.
Many of them are elderly, just like William's mother. Of course because it's her party isn't it? surely what came were his friends.
William's mother was sitting with several people. They look cool chatting, until they are unaware of Chana's arrival.
"Which William's mom, huh?" ask Sakya who is being held by Chana.
"That's it" whispered Chana as she pointed with her chin.
William's mother who was chatting looked directly at Chana as a woman in a suit whispered to him.
Chana smiled as William's mother waved her hand.
The old woman immediately said goodbye to the person she was talking to. His steps were a little quick as he approached Chana.
"You've finally come too. Mom's been waiting since. Are they late to pick you up?"
"It's so nice to meet Mom." William's mother clasped Iksia's hands warmly.
"Thank God, we can meet. All this time I've only heard from others."
"Well, what's that about my vices?" Willem's mother teases.
"Ah, no. Of course it's not about that. What I hear is the opposite."
"We've been at the same ultimatum as Chana, ma'am. If we can't believe the rumors. So, whatever the news is, about whoever it is, we're not just gonna believe it." Sakya.
William's mother glanced in admiration at Chana who was in a daze looking for someone. William's mother smiled faintly, she knew who he was looking for.
"Sorry, my son William is late. She was here but she left again out of nowhere."
Chana immediately turned her head, she pretended to be calm and as if looking for no one.
"Let's sit down first. Icing the food here. Whether it's pleasing or not, but monggo is enjoyed."
"Alhamdulillah, this is already so much more than luxurious, ma'am." Iksia tried to praise.
Iksia, Arzhan and Sakya go to fetch food, while Chana is pulled by her mother William in the other direction.
Iksia was confused to see her son look familiar with his mother William.
"Come here, I'll introduce you to Mom's friends."
Chana and her mother William walk to the table full of mothers. They look like they are talking about whether to discuss what the problem is.
"Hey, hey, look here first. Look who I brought."
The laughter is gone. They all looked at Chana.
"Who is that, Ri? It's beautiful ...."
Chana smiled kindly.
"That's a pretty cute dimple."
"Yes. Why is she so beautiful? Ri, who is this? Willi's wife?"
"She's called Chana. She ...."
Not yet William's mother continued his words, William called.
"Well, that's it coming."
That woman again? Chana whispers in the heart.
William came with a woman holding his hand. Tall, white and pretty. At first glance, they do look very harmonious.
Chana tries to calm down as William and the woman walk closer to them.
"Son, why did you just come? Guests have been waiting a long time."
"I'll pick up Tata first, Mom."
"Hello, Aunt. How are you doing? Happy birthday, yes. May Aunt always be healthy so she can see Willi getting married and having children."
"Thank you, Tata. You're so pretty tonight."
"Who is this, Auntie?" Tanya tata pointed at Chana.
"Oh, here. He's Chana, he--"
"Hello, I'm Chana." Chana cuts off William's unfinished mother's speech.
Ever since William came, his eyes had never escaped from Chana. From the tip of her hair to the tip of her foot she scanned.
"I'm sorry, but the dress you gave me was too revealing. I'm more comfortable wearing this dress." Chana tries to explain before William misunderstands again.
William was silent, now his eyes were on his mother. Looked at it full of question marks.
