Pocong Terror in Rejo Pakis Village

Pocong Terror in Rejo Pakis Village
The End of Terror in the Village

"Who is possessed?" suddenly Mr. Atun entered after being followed by his son.

"That." Atun pointed at a woman who was raging like a fidelity. From earlier the woman just shouted and asked to be returned the rope no matter what was meant.

"What rope, Mom?" manya curious.

"Mother doesn't know either, Nduk. You don't come near. We're here." ask Mom. But I was very curious about my mother's request. Until I unknowingly let go of Mom's handrails and walked closer to Atun and his Father.

Meanwhile, Atun and his Father help each other wake the woman from possession. A request for help and pain at all times sounded out from his mouth. Worried, apparently the figure of the pocong has possessed the body of the mother and asked for help to be released and return to nature.

"Why don't you go to your realm and just wander around in our world?" ask Mr. Atun to the woman.

"I am bound by the covenant of Satan. I follow black magic. And my body was not received by the earth."the woman replied with a sinister tone and a blank look that reddened like holding back anger.

"What can we do to help you?"

"Give me back my pocong rope. I can't just walk away."

"Then, which rope are you looking for?"Atun answered the woman's request. Without answering, the woman pointed at the top of her head. We all know what that person is asking for.

"Who took your head strap?" Mr. Atun asked again. But the figure was silent and no longer answered what Mr. Atun asked.

No one dared to speak. All those inside the house chose to shut up and cling to the wall near the exit. While Mr. Kyai still looks busy outside the house. Some santri followed in and helped Mr. Atun to treat possessed mothers. A boisterous atmosphere was heard. The cries, the horrible laughs and the screams for the sake of Mom's screams were spewed out.

"I want to go home. Toollooonngg ..." again the woman shouted. His body squirmed and thrashed. Some of the santri tried to hold and calm down. While some others recite prayers for meruqiah.

News of the trance and the appearance of the figure pocong last night has spread throughout the village. Even the neighbors of the village also heard news about the chaos last night.

"Looks like. They perform the pranks and ally with the devil." another timpal.

"And from that, it is better to live as is. Than to suffer later." another chimpanzee.

"Yes, I'm ashamed of being a disgrace. Bodies not received by the earth, not to mention later in the afterlife get a reply from the Gusti of God." one of them chimed again. Others agreed and nodded their heads.

"Don't keep talking. Pity that no longer exists." suddenly appeared Mr. Soleh carrying a sack containing grass.

"But, Sir. Isn't that the truth?" one of the people defended themselves.

"True, therefore we who are still alive at least try to be better. Do not lose the wealth of the world. Especially to justify all means." he replied with a nod of the head by the others.

"Are we not going to get any more terror tonight, ma'am?" ask me Mom.

"Hopefully, Nduk. I hope it's over." replied the gentle mother.

After last night, I wanted to teach more. At least I have the knowledge and supplies for later life. I do not want to be poor in faith so that it will cause me later to do things that are contrary to the teachings of religion and are clearly forbidden by God the giver of life.

Even that night, Mr. Kyai found a piece of long rope that had been stored in a small box and stored in a small room in the house of Mr. Dayat. Apparently, this family has been doing the wedding all along. Even in the room was stored some chunks of gold and money neatly stored in an iron box. But from everyday life they seem ordinary. Nothing looks flashy. Only they are always closed to the outside community. Not only that, they ally with demons to gain immunity. I don't know what for. But Mr. Kyai said, usually they make the pocong rope as a condition in carrying out black magic rituals. They were determined to dig and steal a pocong rope from a corpse that had just been buried. Certainly not from just any corpse. There are conditions that must be met before the rope is taken. Because of the actions of the family of Mr. Dayat, a village was stirred by the endless terror of the pocong. Even the family of Mr. Dayat himself is also a figure of terror because his body is not accepted by the earth, so wandering around here and there disturbing the residents to ask for help in order to get the right place.

Terror doesn't just end. Pocong whose rope was restored was now calm and never roamed again. However, pocongs from the Pak Dayat family sometimes still like to appear around the village. They still often disturb the peace of the villagers by knocking one by one the houses of the residents. Sometimes, they come to disturb the patrons who have started to return to perform their night duties. It's just, the citizens are not as good as before. They just need to avoid and be on guard so as not to meet directly with their figure. If they come around the house, the residents only need to hide inside the house without making a sound so as not to provoke the figure any closer. However, they are different from us humans. So meeting them is really a bad luck that should be avoided.

For the loyal readers of this piece of work, I say a lot of thanks for following the storyline that is still a lot of shortcomings. I finished this story here. The author forgot the continuation of the story that used to be often told by grandmothers about the state of the village in her childhood 🤭 Once again thank you to all of you. Greetings from the author to all.
