Chapter 24, The day that everything changes.

"Yes. I'll be there as soon as the field trip is over. Whahuh? She wants to talk?. Ah, hello. Brother will come visit you in a few days. What are some days?. Mmhm-intinya soon Brother will be there. Don't be naughty. Uh."

Phone turned off. There was a sense of happiness when he had time to talk to his little sister. Now, he should be able to travel well and then go home to visit his sister.

His footsteps were light, really. The girl had many stories for her sister. The field trip, which will last for the next three days, should not be long. She really misses her little sister. I think he wants to meet once. I don't know, the feeling of being afraid of losing his family suddenly appeared and made him afraid.

The girl stood hesitantly at the door. Inside, there are his parents. He was not afraid of being scolded for making a mistake, but he felt another fear. The fear he could not describe in detail. The point is, he's afraid to go inside.

"When do you want to stand here?."

The sound surprised him. Over there, a man (maybe in his 50s or so) looked at him with a gaze he could not understand.

"Sorry. I'm just scared."

"Fear why?. Afraid of not seeing you again?. Do you feel that you are going to a faraway place and will never come back?."

The man's words were not wrong and completely jolted the girl from within his mind. The shoes he wore today. The shoes his parents gave him a few months ago. Still he vividly remembered that moment, when his mother with a cheerful face gave the shoes to him, witnessed by his father and little brother.

His birthday was celebrated at his Grandpa and Grandma's house for one reason or another. The girl didn't bother him. He was very happy because he would spend some time even though he was not with his sister for long.

"Go, come in and look at your parents' faces. Maybe there's something important in there."

No time the girl asked, the man who said with full maturity was no longer in his place. The man seemed to disappear.

"They?."

"Aah?."

Without him noticing, his hands had already moved first to open the door. His parents stared questionnaires, and even the man who was feeding his wife stood up to check on the situation outside because his daughter did not come in.

"Why Rea?. What are you staring at?."

Rea's name, shook his head slowly and went straight inside. The thing he did as soon as his foot stepped on the floor of the room was to hug his mother.

"Mother, Rea misses."

In response to her daughter's embrace, the woman called mother rubbed Rea's mane gently. "Is this a request for extra pocket money?."

No, it was not a woman called mother who spoke, but rather a man who walked up to the two of them.

Rea stares at her father with glaring eyes and perfectly inflated cheeks. "not really. Dad once predicted must be all wrong,"sungnya while pursing his lips.

"Mother, look at me. Masa Rea said miss even spelled out the form of additional snack requests ..."

"Thomas," he reprimanded, then looked at the girl who still lingered in his arms.

"The play is not good. Directly to mom. Not exciting."

Rea stuck out her tongue. "Mother, I'm going on a tour" he said, as if forgetting a discussion between himself and his father.

Alesha, the woman who was still in her daughter's arms nodded. "But, isn't it eight now?. Rea leaves at what time?."

The girl did not answer her mother's question. He seemed to be weighing something, then answering Alesha's question. "Rea leaves at ten o'clock, there's still two hours before Rea goes on tour."

"Two hours must be a hug on the bed with mom. Change cake."

Rea stared dislikefully at Thomas. "Dad, what age is dad really?. It's like a child's behavior. It's also Rea hugging mom hasn't been up to an hour. You've been here from yesterday, time no hug mom?. There must be, right?. Very cheated."

"When you are told to come, don't refuse."

"Sorry, that's not the permission for Rea to come to the hospital for fear that Rea's school is disturbed when he originally wanted a monopoly on who's mother?."

If only this was in the world of cartoons, it could be ascertained that now there is a very burning fire of both. Alesha could only smile looking at Rea and Thomas.

"You two ..."

Both Rea and Thomas understood very well that the tone issued by Alesha was now really dangerous, and both had to quit the debate session or the war would start.

"Unfortunately Thomas, this is drinking water if you're thirsty."

Rea and Thomas stared at each other for a few seconds. Both should end the debate session or the woman sitting on the bed will throw them into the streets.

...(☆▽☆)...

"Thomas, can you call Rea now?."

The man who was peeling the apple looked at his wife. "Aren't we calling Rea?" he asked. It's not that she didn't want to call her daughter, but they just talked to Rea.

Alesha shook her head then held onto Thomas's arm while looking at him expectantly. "Please Thomas, just this once" he asked.

Yes, Thomas could not refuse Alesha's request, especially if the woman had looked at him with a look of hope. He could turn and say no.

"alright. I'm gonna call Rea. Just a minute."

The woman smiled. Wanting to hear his own daughter's voice isn't a problem, is it?.

***

"Rea, your phone's ringing."

A girl who was walking towards the bus looked shocked.

"O-oh, thank you."

His phone rang, but he didn't hear a sound until his friend spoke.  I don't know, his soul is like it's not in the body.

The girl was still staring at her phone screen. "Dad why the hell?. Hobby calls busy people."

"Hello-"

"Rea?!. Where is rea?!."

"Mother ... Rea hasn't even boarded the bus ..."

"oh-oh ... Yep. Go home soon, right?."

The girl nodded. He will go straight home.

"They?."

"Yes mother?."

Silent. There was no sound from across there. The girl stared at her phone screen to see if the phone was still going on or not.

"Mom will be home soon today. To the house."

Steps ceased. Alesha called her name several times, but her brain was still busy processing the woman's words.

"When? ... Where to?."

"Mom will go home. Our house."

"..."

"They?."

"WAIT HUH?!. REA TOOK THE BUS. WAIT, MOM."

The phone is turned off unilaterally. Alesha looked at Thomas with pleasure. Now, the two of them are just waiting for Rea's return and to pick up Ryan tomorrow morning.

"I can't wait."

Thomas smiles. The results of yesterday's examination were truly satisfactory, at least. Soon, Alesha can go home and her little family will be reunited again.
