Abian smiled bitterly. She stopped her crying and wiped the tears that were pouring down her cheeks. It felt useless if he cried blood though, it would have no effect for him to be able to return with Aruna. But he was very grateful because today he was given the opportunity to be alone with his daughter.
Abian thought, if the one who managed to help Elona was himself. Maybe what Elona hugs at the moment, and Aruna accompanies in the hospital is not the man, but him. It was a chance to get together with his little family.
"Unfortunately I lost quickly to him. I'm sure, he must have taken this opportunity to get Aruna's attention."
Abian clenched his hand and hit the steering wheel hard enough.
"I'm not willing to lose Aruna, especially if I have to lose Elona from my arms. I can't afford it."
Abian was holding both sides of his head, his head was very sore. Looks like he has to go home soon to rest, because tomorrow morning he has to start working. Who knows tomorrow he meets Gavin, chatting with the man so that his heart can be a little more relieved.
Return to the room where Haikal and Elona are. The boy was still expressing his happiness seeing the man before him already able to smile.
"Haikal's uncle is really okay?" ask the boy while sitting on the edge of the patient's bed.
"Uncle Haikal is fine, beautiful. Elona didn't have to worry, yes" replied the man.
"I'm very worried about uncle. Uncle got hurt for having to help me. Thank you, uncle. Get well soon, yes, uncle."
"Yes, thank you for the do'a."
"Together, uncle."
The two stared at each other with happy twinkle. Haikal thought, if only his hope to be a part of their small family materialized, his life would feel more complete. He will no longer feel empty even though he has a treasure.
"Sorry mother lam-" Aruna's words came to a halt as she saw her daughter joking with the man lying on the bed.
And jokingly the two stopped once Aruna came. Elona's face tensed up instantly.
"Elona, baby. Why did Elona wake Haikal's uncle, son? Elona had promised her mother not to disturb Haikal's uncle" said Aruna as she walked up to Elona who was now lowered.
"I'm sorry, mother" said the boy, not daring to look at his mother.
"Don't get mad at Elona, Aruna. Elona didn't wake me, I woke up myself" Haikal said.
Elona glanced at her mother, before she looked down again.
Aruna held both sides of her daughter's shoulders. He looked at Elona's face.
"I'm sorry, baby. I'm not mad at Elona, I just want Elona to keep her promise. Look at me, son."
Elona slowly looked up at her face and ventured back to her mother's gaze.
"Yes. But next time, Elona must be able to keep her promise. Ok!?" Aruna gave her little finger, and Elona fused her little finger with her mother.
"Yes, mother."
Aruna kissed her daughter. What an incredible sight for Haikal.
Aruna stood up again. His view turned to Haikal.
"Haikal, it's too late for Elona. Tomorrow Elona has to go back to school, and I also have to go back to work. I'll go home first, yeah. Tomorrow if I have time, I'll come back here. It's okay, right?"
Haikal nodded in understanding. "Yes, Aruna. Its alright. Thank you for accompanying me here."
"I should be thanking you, Haikal. Thank you for saving Elona to the point of sacrificing yourself."
"Yes, you're welcome."
"I'm saying goodbye, yeah."
"What's okay?"
"Let's book a cab online."
"Yes, be careful, yeah."
"Yes" answered Aruna.
"Uncle, I go home first, yes," said Elona.
"Yes, pretty. Be careful on the road, yeah."
"Good, uncle. Come on, mom."
"Yes, come on."
Aruna and her daughter rushed out of the room. After all, the time has run out to visit Haikal in his break time.
Haikal looked towards their departure, a smile rising from both corners of his lips.
