It had been almost a week for Alea to shut herself up in the room since the heartbreaking incident. No screams, hurtful rantings and rejection came out of Alea's mouth. Alea became a different figure, a lot of motionless silence like having a boneless body.
Bayu sighed deeply, again he saw Alea (nya) sitting on the side of the bed with an out-of-place view. Bayu approached the wife with a tray of food and a glass of water for her. This is one of the new routines undertaken by a Bayu Anggara.
Bayu sat beside Alea who was about 30 cm away from his seat. "Lea, I brought you breakfast. Let's eat."
Not getting a reply, Bayu did not give up just like that. He placed the tray he held onto the nightstand that was not far from his seat. Bayu crouched down to take a position in front of his wife.
"Alea? Listen to me, until when are you going to be like this? Come back like you used to be, be the cheerful beautiful Alea. Who likes to scold me and say rude to me. Ah, naw. That's not what I meant. You should come back cheerful, not just because of a jerk you hurt yourself and also the one who loves you. You know, Grandpa is so sad to see you like this. You can be sad, but at least think about Grandpa. Grandfather is so worried about you that he also does not appetite even reluctant to take his medicine." Bayu lowered his head given that these few days grandfather's health had deteriorated due to being too worried about Alea.
Unexpectedly, Alea responded as soon as she heard the word grandfather coming out of Bayu's mouth.
"Grandfather?"
"Yes, my grandfather is not well."
"I want to see Grandpa."
"Later, yeah. You should eat first. Then take a shower and change this nightgown with a beautiful dress. So that grandpa would be happy to see you cheerful again. Now eat first, yeah." Bayu stood up and took a tray of food that he brought earlier from the top of the nightstand. Bayu painstakingly fed Alea. And miraculously, there was no rejection from Alea.
"Already,"
"A little more, yeah."
"A little more, half of it." Bayu did not give up on making Alea eat more.
Alea complied and accepted the bribes Bayu gave him again. After a few mouthfuls, Alea glanced at the plate in Bayu's hand.
"Already," Alea said feeling she had spent at least half the rice on the plate.
"Emm, okay. Now take a shower, we'll meet Grandpa together."
Alea stood up leaving Bayu who was still sitting beside the bed towards the bathroom.
Inside the bathroom, Alea looked at her face in the mirror. Dull face, sunken eyes, even chubby cheeks were almost gone. Alea turned around unable to bear to look at her own face in the mirror. When his hand was about to take off the nightgown he was wearing, he also remembered if he had not brought a change of clothes. Although in a state that is still chaotic, at least he still remembers his new habits after marriage. Bringing a change of clothes into the bathroom.
Bayu glanced at the rice left on the plate he was holding. Without hesitation he ate it greedily. For him, leaving food is a very bad thing. Given how childhood to adolescence, food became something quite luxurious for him and several other orphanage children. And besides this is the rest of his wife's food, so it's not wrong if he spends it. That's what Bayu thinks.
Alea came out of the bathroom and saw what her husband was doing in the place where he was sitting while feeding her earlier. Something tickled his chest. Alea could only be silent.
After finishing his meal, Bayu stood up to bring back the tray with the empty plates and glasses of his and Alea's food.
"Why not take a shower?" Bayu asked as soon as he saw Alea just standing in front of the bathroom.
"I'm gonna go get a change of clothes." Alea made a small run towards the walk in closet. While Bayu continued his goal earlier, which was to bring back the tray and its contents to the kitchen.
