My soul mate is my parents' choice

One years.

Three days of time had passed, Claudia was back to living her usual days. But there is a clear picture is different, where there was always Alvaro who was waiting for his return but let alone the person, the trunk of his nose was clearly never seen again by him.

Perhaps the last time Claudia revealed the truth, Alvaro was reluctant to meet her.

As if time helped Claudia not to think about it, she was currently being busy by her busy work.

When Claudia was welcoming invited guests, she was surprised by the presence of Surya Saputra and Mariam as her parents who attended the event. Of course, they will be one of the important guests today. Claudia then did her job as usual, trying not to attract the attention of colleagues around her. It is inconceivable how it would be if they found out a subsidiary of the largest company owner in the country became a worker at the hospital, they would interview him as if a journalist who was looking for information for his news.

Looking back at his parents who had been looking at him, Claudia could not interpret the gaze that was directed at him. Of course Claudia misses them because this is the longest time she has never seen her parents but circumstances that must force her to separate temporarily.

Surya and Mariam go inside smiling at Claudia, when they can no longer be seen there is just a message coming into the phone.

“After the event is over, papah hope you want to meet us both at restaurant x. We missed you dear”

Claudia just seemed to be looking at the message and then she continued her work.

Claudia while occasionally looking towards Amelia wanted to confirm something, why did Amelia not tell if her parents were one of the invited guests. However, the intention was immediately paused because Amelia was busy accompanying invited guests to just greet and talk to each other.

After the event was over, Claudia finally decided to meet her parents at the designated place, when she arrived there immediately saw Surya and Mariam who had been sitting waiting for her arrival. Claudia walked over slowly, as if she knew what she was going to talk about.

“Pah, mah.” Claudia greets Surya and Mariam who are not yet aware of her existence.

“Claudia dear, mamah miss you” replied Mariam as she woke up from her seat and hugged her beloved daughter.

Claudia sees Mariam crying in front of her, making her feel guilty for running away from home. Claudia hugged her mother back.

Now he approached Surya who just hugged his daughter.

Surya was only silent but could see his gaze had a deep meaning.

Caludia sat beside the mama while wrapping her hands between her mama's hands and her head leaning against her shoulders.

While saying “Maafin Claudia ya mah” and in reply nod by the mamah and kissed on his head with love.

After that Claudia asked, why they did not immediately look for her whereabouts or contact to ask her back.

It turned out that Claudia's parents had known the existence and actions she did, it was all because Mr. Tono had been watching and reporting it to the two of them.

With that explanation Claudia was upset by what they were doing.

“Mamah same papah does not seem to matter yes if I go from home, the proof after knowing it mamah same papah no one asked me to go home” replied Claudia while shedding tears.

“At first mamah was very sad after reading the letter you left, mamah felt guilty” continued Mariam while holding both hands Claudia.

“But after we think back, we want to try to respect your decision to leave the house temporarily, maybe this is what you do while recovering your heartache on both of us” Surya replied 

“And fortunately you did not vent it on bad things and you became more mature and firm with your stance. The proof is that you work at your friend Amelia” continued Surya.

“Not mature nor firm reward, mah. But honestly I was forced because the money I brought was up.” Claudia replied as she lowered her gaze.

“You are an adult baby, you prefer to work and be firm with your stance not to go home. We are proud of you” Mariam replied as she hugged him back.

“Then what about the match?” claudia asked, hoping that her actions by running away from home could melt the hearts of her parents and undo it immediately.

“Sorry dear, your matchmaking must continue.” Answer Surya.

“But..” is not finished Claudia spoke, Surya immediately cut it.

“But, it's time for us to step down. We give you freedom for a whole year, after which you will still marry by our choice.” Answer Surya.

“Of course we will keep an eye out, not want you to do bad things behind our back even when you meet the guy you like. You should know that after one year you should leave it” Surya added.

Hearing Surya's explanation, Claudia remained silent while considering the offer given by her parents.

“Mamah suggest you accept this offer dear, in this one year you can do what you want. Trying to be close to other men for example” said the mama while giving a meaningful look.

“But we are sure, our choice is the best of the men who have or maybe you will meet later” replied Surya ensure.

Finally, after Claudia thought, she agreed to what Surya and Mariam offered on condition that she would stay outside the house and would go home once a week.

Hearing the answer Mariam asked

“So you still don't want to go home baby?” while showing a sad face.

“Iya mah, because at this time I have worked. So I better stay out of the house so that I'm more independent.” Claudia replied.

“Good, if you want. You can no longer stay in a hotel. You have to move to the apartment we have prepared. It's not far from where you work right now. Every day there will be assistants who come to prepare food or help you clean the house. So you won't be exhausted. As well as all your facilities we will restore back” Surya replied affirming.

Finally Caludia can reuse all the cards she has, after all the cards were blocked by her parents.

“Betul dear, because actually although we are proud because you have grown up but we are still sad to see you work. You come home every day or go to use a taxi, therefore your car will be asked by Mr. Tono to be escorted to the hotel.” Added Mariam

“Yes well, but I'll stay at the hotel until the deadline is up. Sunday tomorrow I will move to an apartment that is already Mamah and Papah prepared.” pinta Claudia.

After that they talked again, while Claudia told her about her experience working so far. The treatment of her coworkers and the kindness Amelia gave her when she was in trouble, Surya and Mariam occasionally smiled with the story her daughter told.

Until their time apart, Surya and Mariam return home and Claudia returns to her hotel.
