Before long, Emak and Halimah came with three cups of tea and some snacks with trays.
"Please have tea and snacks." Halimah carefully placed the tea and snacks on the table.
"Hampura, Mom can only treat ieu hungkul." (Translated: Sorry, Mom can only offer this).
"Teu nanaon Mak, sakieu ge' geus nohun." (Translated: Nothing Mak, so thank you). Yayah who slowly sipped tea served by Mother and Halimah.
"Geuning enteh na ngar mawa opat glass hungkul, ari nu Abah where?" (Translated: Why did the tea only bring four glasses, which Abah?) Ask Abah who re-rolled the sheath on her waist that was almost sagging.
"Ih Abah, piraku nginum coffee bari nginum tea ogkoh." (Translated: Ih Abah, coffee time while drinking tea as well). Abah was aghast because Mom pinched her waist.
Jayah and Halima were only shaking their heads at the behavior of their Mother and Abah. "Era atuh in my residence nu se'je'n.'' (Translated: Shy dong at see each other).
"Yourselves now rest in the room. But the same Kin Jajang teu nanaon if you sleep together? And here the bedroom is taking off." Obviously Mother.
"It's okay, ma'am, I'm so grateful." Kin said politely.
"Everything calls 'Mistress'.... This is not your mother, Madam." Patting Kin's shoulder like Mother did to her son Rian, the second brother of Jayah.
They also headed to the room that had been prepared, the day had begun to afternoon. Kin and Jajang seemed to have fallen asleep from exhaustion after a long trip.
Meanwhile, Jayah looks to be putting Arsalan to sleep like a child. Arsalan seemed to enjoy sleeping in his wife's arms. Jayah kissed her husband gently on the forehead, then he went out of the room.
Seen outside the house Mother and Abah were sitting relaxed while chatting. "Mom, Abah. Yaah te'h bade' walks her heula," (Translated: Mak, Abah. Yaah wants to go for a walk first yes,) while greeting Mother and Abah.
"Nyaentos, kade' Neng on na street. Abah's motorbike is in the hareupeun gate." (Translated: Yaudah, be careful on the road. Abah's motorcycle is in front of the gate). Show Abah on his bodong motorbike which he always carries when he sees the fields.
"Gadag Abah mah, motor te'h snobs at teundeun at hareupeun gate, kumaha mun aya nu nyokot." (Translated: Abah mah habits, motorcycles like to be stored in front of the gate, what if someone takes). Mother said as she poured the tea into Abah's aluminum cup.
"Kajeun lah ceubang motor.'' (Translated: It's nothing but a motorbike). Abah answered while sipping tea.
Meanwhile, Yamah went around the village with his Abahya motorbike. It feels that the longing in the heart of Yamah has not been fully treated even though it has traveled around the village.
Jayah stopped his motorbike, he looked around. Everything looks different, not the same anymore. Even the rice fields that once lay wide the road he used to go through when going to school have turned into elite housing.
In the inner Yayah, he asks where was his former village? A cool village, a village that has a clear river where the mothers wash clothes. The village is decorated by a wide expanse of rice fields, a village that has a large grass field where livestock eat, and a playground for village children. Where the hell is all that?
Yayah saw the river that had become thin. He and his village friends used to bathe in the river, but now just look at it Yayah was disgusted, I don't know what those people did until the river that used to be clear water now turned pitch black.
Hayah felt sorry for the village children now who could not see how beautiful this village used to be, who could not feel how clear and fresh the river water in this village used to be. But the village children are now also lucky. Lucky because the access road to the school is not difficult like it used to be. In the past when leaving and returning to school, Yaah had to pass through a muddy and slippery path in the rice fields.
He got off the bike, then walked around looking at the elite housing that had been built sometime. Jayah also found where the location of the saung (hub) which used to be the place where he and his friends gathered.
Jayah stopped his steps in front of a green house, he was very sure that the location of the saung (hub) there, before the green house was built.
"Miss Yayah?" Jayah was aghast when someone mentioned her name. "ieu te'h actually Neng Yaah?" (Translated: This is actually Neng Yayah?) The question that was none other than Mang Otong.
"Mang Otong."
"Yes Allah. Neng meuni tos lila karak amprok deui." (Translated: Oh God. Neng had met again a long time ago).
Hayah immediately kissed the middle-aged man's hand.
" Mang, kumaha kabarna?" (Translated: Mang, how are you?)
"Alhamdulillah, healthy Neng. Ngar ieu we'h buuk pisan meuni ngabodasan." (Translated: Alhamdulillah, healthy Neng. But this hair style really wear white). Brushing her gray hair.
"Kateumpo na Mang." (Translated: Cool looks Mang). While holding both thumbs up.
"Can wae si Eneng mah." (Translated: Could be Eneng).
Jayah and Mang Otong also chatted about many things, ranging from trivial things to things that are somewhat serious like telling about his marriage with Arsalan.
"Teu thought Mamang te'h was still interested in 'ne'h ka Jayah, even though geus lila teu amprok." (Translated: I don't think Mamah still remembers Yamah, but has not seen him for a long time).
"Mamang mah moal poho ka jalmi nu unggal isuk me're' Mamang breakfast, anu smile Jeung seuri na so encouragement jeung Mamang. Kumaha Mamang can poho ka jalmi nu bageur pisan kos Eneng." (Translated: Mamang will not forget to the person who every morning gives Mamang breakfast, whose smile and laughter become an encouragement for Mamang. How can you forget a good person like Eneng).
Jayah was moved to hear the words of Mang Otong. It is true that the goodness of a person can never be forgotten and will always be remembered, no matter how small the goodness.
Although the good done was far away for many years, but can never be forgotten.
