Trying to Open Hearts

Tristan stood on the balcony of the apartment room, staring at the flickering lights in other tall buildings.

After being satisfied with crying, Kayla calmed down in her room. As she prepares to go to sleep, she stops him from feeling like he has to explain something to Tristan.

Kayla washed her face, her eyes looking terrible. "Tomorrow will get even more swollen."

Kayla searches for Tristan's whereabouts in the living room and kitchen but none. Kayla finally knocked on Tristan's door.

Tristan opened the door of his room, his face was visibly disheveled.

"Can we talk to Tris?"

Tristan looked at Kayla's reddened eyes, "Come, talk in the kitchen. Compress your eyes first so that tomorrow does not swell."

Kayla follows Tristan walking into the kitchen.

Tristan put the ice cubes into a cloth and gave it to Kayla.

Kayla took it, "Love," while alternately attaching it to her left and right eyes.

Kayla steals a glance at Tristan, seeing if it is indeed the right time to explain everything.

"Kay, speak. I'm not going to judge you. If you need to tell a story and open your heart, I'll listen." Tristan felt Kayla's hesitation.

Kayla lowered her hand from her eyes, putting a cloth filled with ice cubes on the table.

"I want to explain what Melvin said at the party. At first I mistakenly thought Melvin was Radit. Their faces were the same even the characteristics of his body. But after getting to know him, they are two very different people, their nature and behavior are not the same. Radit was so gentle and caring, he never wanted to hurt let alone treat me badly. Melvin's different, he's always even deliberately embarrassing me." Kayla begins to recount the beginning of the meeting until the last time Melvin promises never to see her again.

Tristan nipped her forehead, listened to Kayla's story but she didn't think the same as Kayla. There are some important points there are similarities about Melvin and Radit.

"Are you sure he's not Radit?"

Kayla shook her head, "No, Radit would never hurt me by the end of my hair."

Although Tristan has his own thoughts and some suspicions, but he does not know how Radit originally. He only knew her from Kayla's story to him. So he could only trust Kayla's judgment.

"You feel better?" Tristan looked at Kayla with pity.

"You're not disgusted with me? I even killed my fetus."

Tristan shook his head, he saw tears welling up in Kayla's eyes. Thinking of all the suffering Kayla had to endure continuously made her fall even more in love with him, where perhaps she felt disgusted.

Tristan pulled out Kayla's hands and held them.

Kayla felt moved, why couldn't her heart accept Tristan in the least? Why should Melvin enter his heart now? Why must that jerk be?!.

"Tris, can you give me more time? I'm not rejecting you, just giving me more time to think about it. I'll try to open my heart to you, then I'll give you an answer."

Tristan smiled broadly, "Yes, of course Kay. I'll wait for you, wait for your answer."

Tristan pressed her hand on Kayla, her heart feeling happy.

A week after the incident, almost 2 weeks more Melvin in Paris, he never tailed Kayla again. Bad enough that day, he didn't want to hurt Kayla.

His marriage to Renata stayed a week longer, he did not want to complicate matters.

Melvin's phone rang, he saw his mother calling. He took his phone pressing the answer. "Yes, Mah."

"Come home soon, we want to talk to you. Moreover, your marriage is soon, even though Mama and your future mother-in-law are preparing this marriage but you also have to take part in it."

"I still can't go home Mah, wait three more days." Melvin actually managed to get the tender of the project and beat his competitors including winning from the Tristan Company, but he still needs to establish himself to get married.

"Melvin, take a little responsibility as a man! Mama was forbidden to say it by Renata, but it seems like you have to say it. Renata is pregnant, so get home!"

The phone slid down from his hand, Melvin couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Tomorrow I'll go home, I'll book a ticket now."

"All right, Mama's closed. The whole family is waiting for you, we're all so happy."

After the connection was broken, Melvin could only guess what happened. Getting pregnant? Even when his memory is still lost and becomes Melvin, he never kisses Renata! Especially after his memory recovered, he could no longer touch Renata. How could Renata conceive her child?!
