Nehan POVs
This morning I came home, after a two-night stay at my mother's house in the village. Well, it feels great, being together with my son and his mother. I hope a lot of things will improve our relationship.
"I'm going home, Rum" my wife nodded and smiled. My heart is amazingly peaceful. It seems like she was trying to mend our relationship, although she still refused when I tried to talk about Lala.
"Be careful on the road, after this live well and happy, do not have bad thoughts about anything or anyone," hmm, I consider it a form of attention.
So I also responded casually, "heem, don't worry, I'll take good care of myself, you're also here with Ken, until you're ready to go home," he didn't reply, but his smile showed that one day he would come home, I was sure of that.
During the trip home, it was quiet to ambush me. The shadow of Rumi sitting next to me holding Ken made me miss. It was only a few minutes before I left them.
I just want to go back to my mom's house. But unfortunately I promised Lala to visit him this week.
I had to prepare a lot of things before leaving because Lala ordered some food that can only be obtained in Indonesia and I promised to prepare it.
At home, my mother greeted me, "where did you come from, two days did not come home?!" mom saw me full of probes.
"Visiting Rumi Bu."
"You still visit that woman. She's an irresponsible wife, Han. He left the house, he doesn't care about you, why did you come there?" as usual, I talked about Rumi.
I didn't comment on anything Mom said, but I also had no desire to argue, so I went into the room and I closed the door.
"You should pay more attention to Sekar. Spend more time with that child. Let her get pregnant soon, Sekar deserves to be your wife," why the hell mother, is not tired of screaming continuously like that.
"When you left, Sekar had already contacted mom, he said you couldn't be contacted these few days."
I lay myself down on the bed, letting mom talk to herself in front of the room. I must be sitting on the wooden chair I put next to my door.
"Everything that I ordered you to take with you."
I miss my mother-in-law's house in the village, it's much quieter, my mother never interfered with our affairs except in urgent circumstances. I miss Rumi, Mbok Nah, and Ken. What is my son doing now.
"When you leave Han, it's better soon so you can be a bit long there."
I let out a sigh, I turned my gaze to the door, how could mother talk non-stop like that. I raised my hand and made my head. Who I came home to. This room feels dead.
"Mom can't wait to have another grandson Han."
I already have a granddaughter. She's a cute baby named Keandra Nisham, but I'm sure you don't want to see her because of her vanity and selfishness. Now if I think about it, mother is the cause of the destruction of my household.
"Don't you go to that poor woman Han again, I never thought of her as a daughter-in-law."
I got out of bed and took a quick step towards the door. I opened the door wide and stood in front of my mother.
"If you say one more word about Rumi, don't talk to Nehan. Rumi is my wife, Mom. He also gave me a child. I don't like you talking like that about Rumi," every time you talk is outrageous, but now it's different, I don't want Ken to be insulted, he's my son, my flesh and blood. I slammed the door in front of my mom's face.
"Barthy you Han, you son of no self-knowledge, no idea of being lucky, raised from childhood now dare to defy me, if not for me you have__."
I opened the door again, "what's it?" mom stopped her line, looking surprised at the way she looked at me and shut her mouth.
Mother took her bag, put on an annoyed face and left me grumbling, "mom mulih, you brat, ora duwe manners, ora ngerti bales Budi, volunteer wong tuwo."
[Mother comes home, basic children, has no manners, does not know the return, against parents]
After my mother's departure I went back into the room, the fall again continued my daydream that had been cut off. Because the miss is amazing, I took out my HP. I opened the photos I took yesterday.
O.. What a funny thing my son is. My fingers touched the picture of my son's face that made me smile on my own, then I turned to Rumi's face, beautiful, more beautiful than when she lived here. His face looked young, fresh and laughed a lot. He used to be sad here and looked withered.
I touched the video call app. I'd better call Rumi, if Ken's at this hour will be up and ready to take an afternoon shower.
"Assalamualaik."
"Waalaikumsalam Rum, where's Ken?"
"Get ready to take a bath."
Rumi brought her phone closer to Ken.
"Hahaha.have been naked son of father."
"Yes, isn't he going to take a shower, his father has taken a bath yet?"
"Not yet, his father just got home, it's still a break."
"Hi dad, look at this I took a bath with the mbok."
Rumi pointed her video camera at my son. Her cute chirp is similar to a cat's voice, her distinctive laughter filling my heart.
"Father's son, his pinter."
"you.au..au."
Again I laughed, "hahaha, later if it's handsome to call father again father son father."
"Yes, dad, assalamualaikum."
Rumi turned off the camera. For a few seconds I was silent, how could I hurt Rumi with all my past lies. Is it worth what I have now with the loss I will receive?
I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. The shadows of Rumi and Ken filled my head. I have to go to Lala tomorrow. Am I ready to lose Rumi and Ken?
After I spent a few days with my wife's child, I wanted to rethink my decision to keep Lala.
If Rumi had asked me to choose again, I was sure I would have chosen Rumi and her son. Is it too late for me? I hope Rumi will change her mind after these few days we spent together.
...***...
This morning I delayed my departure. I worked with a feeling of confidence to rethink about my relationship with Lala.
Just as I was about to get into the car, the security guard at my house confronted me with an envelope.
"Sorry Ndoro Kakung, this yesterday came a letter."
"Well, when did I not know?" the feeling yesterday I came was still noon, why did I not know there was a letter coming.
"Yesterday was a little afternoon Ndoro, sorry I did not directly convey, I think Ndoro needs a break after leaving the city for two days."
I received the letter and I threw it in the car seat, "it's okay, accept it."
Later I see if I can, I just put the letter on the dashboard of the car. I glanced at it a few times, about who it was, about what, someone sent a letter to the home address. Usually all correspondence is directed to the office.
During the trip to Lala's office contacted me several times, but I ignored her phone. This time I want to think calmly without anyone's influence.
When I got to the office, I almost left the letter I received in the car, so I had to walk back to pick it up.
After sitting at my desk and putting down my bag, I opened the letter. I cradled the envelope several times, flipping through it until I finally pulled out the letter inside.
At the top of the letter was a large headscarf that read Religious Court. Religious court? Why did the court send me a letter?
I saw the bottom, quickly my eyes read up on the part, expected the presence of brother Nehan Nawang Nugroho to attend the hearing and so on, over the divorce suit by the wife of the brother...
My eyes were dark, I stopped reading. Kuremas this damn letter in my fist. I don't want to go back to my mother's village just to attend a divorce hearing. I slammed the piece of paper onto the table with my grasp. The glass lining the table was shattered into pieces. I snatched the car keys and then ran towards the parking lot.
I barely heard when my secretary yelled, "sir, his hands are bleeding.pak," I left him running after me and reminded me of my bleeding hands. Caring for the devil, I have to go back to see Rumi. You can't do this to me Rum, I won't allow you to do this!!
