My Dandellion's
Chapter 10

“Families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter”

~ Brad Henry

Happy reading...

After the helpers came out, Ara was left alone with Ina's mbok in Adam's room. Ara sat by the bed wiping Adam's face with a towel that Ina had brought. Both of them were still silent with various thoughts filling their minds.

Mbok Ina is still wondering what happened to the young master and how Ara got to know and know the condition of the young master who was in pain earlier. Ara is worried about Adam and Adam's parents. Ara's mind was full of ways of conveying Adam's state to her parents. There must have been a reason why Adam would not be honest about his circumstances and chose to endure everything himself.

As the two were daydreaming, Adam opened his eyes and looked around. He found Ara and her maid looking at him with worried faces. He did not expect that Ara would actually come to see him. Instantly her heart warmed with the attention Ara gave. As he was about to open his mouth to speak, his parents were already standing at the door staring at them with puzzled gazes.

“What is this?” ask Hendrawan.

Adam who heard her father's question looked at Ara who was replied with a soothing smile from Ara.  Adam knew it was time he had to tell his parents the truth. They must have been confused by his current state and why Ara was in this house.

“Goodnight ladies and gentlemen, can we talk in private? There are important things that I have to say regarding the condition of Mr. Adam,” said Ara politely as she stood up and approached Adam's parents who were still

stand at Adam's door.

Hendrawan nodded as he passed to his study followed by Ami, Adam's mother. Ara glances at Adam with a smile indicating that everything will be fine. He's the one who's gonna talk to Adam's parents.

Ara immediately followed Adam's parents towards the study. Once there he was immediately welcome to sit by them. It turned out that they were not as frightened as Ara's shadow earlier.

“Goodnight ladies and gentlemen, my name is Ara. I was Adam's friend from the final semester medical school. There are important things that you both should know about Adam's condition,” said Ara straightforwardly introduce yourself.

“I knew Adam last month on the roof. At that time I saw he was experiencing sakau and trying to inject a type of putaw drugs into his body.”.

“What do you mean? My son will not wear that illicit item,”cut Ami in an angry tone.

“If you do not believe you can directly ask this to Mr. Adam directly,” said Ara suggested.

“Continue your explanation miss Ara,” said Hendrawan let Ara speak.

“After seeing him on drugs that day I didn't talk to him directly. But the next day I got him acquainted and asked him the obvious. He admitted that he was a drug addict.

I offered help that was not encouraged by him. But this afternoon he came to me for help,” explained Ara at length.

Ara looked at the faces of shock and disbelief in both of Adam's parents. They were obviously sad about their child's condition. Ara can see clearly that this family still loves each other despite being hindered by their respective activities.

“So afternoon I advised Mr. Adam to be honest with the ladies and gentlemen and to choose a rehabilitation center as a place of treatment. But Mr. Adam rejected my proposal and chose to do his own treatment,”

said Ara.

Ara paused her sentence for a moment as Hendrawan's master raised his hand asking Ara to stop talking.

“Can you call Adam here? We must hear the explanation,” said Mr. Hendrawan who was replied with a nod of Ara.

Ara walked out of the study and into Adam's room. Once there he found Adam alone sitting on the bed with a restless face.

“Lo say what's the same to my parents?” adam asked when he saw Ara enter his room.

“I told you the truth I know about your condition. Now they're waiting for you in the study to hear your story. You still dizzy?” said Ara while smiling to calm Adam. He saw that Adam's face was still pale even though it wasn't as pale as before.

“Hey, now go and meet your parents. Tell them the truth. Tell me you want to get well now. In addition, there are internal family problems that you must solve on your own. All of them

it's gonna be fine. Believe me,” said Ara reassured Adam who looks still doubtful.

Ara helped Adam walk because Adam's body was still a little weak. His strength was completely drained to endure the pain. When alone with mbok Ina earlier, he was offered a meal. But Adam refused because Adam still felt nauseous.

When he arrived at the door of the study Adam hesitated to enter.

“Lo don't come in with me?” adam asked, looking at Ara. Adam's gaze was exactly like a child asking for a defense when caught making a mistake.

“Nothing to be afraid of Adam. They are your parents. Tell me the truth and everything will be fine,”

adam's conversation with his parents will last a long time.

@@@@@

Adam walked into the study room was greeted with a hard-to-read look from his parents. He sat down in front of his parents and just kept his head down without speaking anything. He realized he had done

grave mistake.

“The girl said you were a drug user. Is that right?” asked Hendrawan to break the silence. His tone sounded cold and held back anger.

“Ya papa's. What Ara said was true. He saw right away when I was injecting a putaw into my body,” Adam said.

Plakkk

Plakkk

A slap was heard in the room. Ami who had been silent, slapped his son's cheek twice because he was so disappointed with the reality. He did not expect his son to use such illicit goods. Unfeeling, tears had already flowed down his face.

Adam who received the slap was silent. He didn't feel any pain. He knew he deserved it even more.

“Do you know that you did something wrong? What made you use that illegal item?” sue Hendrawan with a higher tone of voice.

Adam just kept quiet to hear his father's question. He didn't have to start from where to explain his circumstances. But for sure this situation stems from his guilt about the death of his sister Liona.

“Adam Jawab. Don't you know how to talk anymore?” snapped Hendrawan upset with Adam who was just silent.

“I just need a distraction from the inner pressure that I experience reward. Until now I still feel guilty about the death of Liona. After Liona's death our family changed. I feel guilty for everything,” explained Adam as he looked at his parents with teary eyes.

“Liona's death left a wound for all of us. But you're just busy yourself without caring anymore. It's like saying clearly that it's all my fault. And it was all my fault.

You know what I got out of that shit? I can forget for a moment the heavy burden that has existed since 8 years ago,” continued Adam who can no longer hold back his tears. He cried like a child. It was obvious that he had endured the pain for too long.

Ami hugged her son and cried. He also regretted his actions to the point of making his son blame himself. She spent too long wallowing in pain as a mother

losing son. In reality, there is also a child who needs his attention and affection.

Hendrawan just rubbed his face in frustration. He failed to become the head of the family. He felt he could not protect and protect his wife and children. He walked slowly towards his wife and son and hugged

they are with deep sadness.

That's exactly what Ara said. The first step for Adam was to be honest with his parents. Ara realized that there was another pain that had to be cured first before healing Adam's dependence on drugs. In this way, whatever steps will be taken next, Adam is not alone anymore but there is the main and important support from both parents.
