Meaning of Love
06. A Responsibility

POV prastika

The man was so happy with the news I brought. He wanted me to work in that restaurant. Though I want to get a place in the Kuta area that is more crowded with tourists. But his request cornered me and was forced to comply.

"I don't understand why my brother told me to work there. Can you say it?" ask her.

"I want you to promise me, Pras" he said.

The atmosphere of this park does not support the rhythm of those words. I saw her nanar. But he still looked at something far away somewhere. Although I know what he's going through, but I don't want the reason he forced me to work there to have anything to do with him.

"Love and friendship are special, Pras. I can feel it in this world, but I can't have it for long. I want me to be able to help the two people who have introduced the two to me" he said, smiling.

"What's the connection, brother?" I still can't digest his words. He's so clever to play code and get me caught up in curiosity.

"I want you to love my best friend. He deserves a girl like you, "

Deggs

My heart raced so fast and there was a little pain around it. My eyes are getting hot for nothing. I want to cry hearing her request. But I felt a burden and his heart was so forced to say all that. He and I were silent for the next time. I remember a few days ago when I found out what was hidden from me. The fact of him suffering behind all his cheerfulness. The joy he always shared with me.

Five Days Ago,

Ever since he came home from his travels around the neighboring country, I have been spending more and more time visiting him. Although the location is quite far, but what is the meaning of the distance. The location of his boarding house on the side of the road is very easy to find. I left at 8 o'clock, 9:30 I've arrived here. But his slightly open room indicated the man had not yet woken up either. A custom caused by time zone differences between the hemisphere of Indonesia and neighboring countries.

He was still warmly covered when the sun rose. He did not realize my presence at all. I sat beside his bed while resting the tired body of the drive earlier.I noticed his face was fixed. His face was so changed from before. He was so pale that my eyes focused more on him.

"Why does he look so unwell?" my inner.

My gaze was sidetracked by the white envelope that I seemed to have been overrunning with my hand. The name and address of the hospital there. It seemed to have been opened by someone because its top had been torn off. A letter is inside that envelope, some kind of notification letter or the result of a test.

Tears were unstoppable as the letter was finished. I felt useless until I did not know the illness he had suffered so far. I fell down and cried next to him. Of course it woke him up. He immediately woke up with a worried expression.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying, Pras?"

I have no power to answer. He glanced at the letter I still held. He took a deep breath as if preparing an explanation.

"She, Pras... I'm....."

"Am I not valuable to you?" I was a little stumbling due to a bit of a headache.

"It's not so, Pras....."

"Then what is this? Can't I know how you are, brother?"

"I was just waiting for the right moment to tell you everything, but you knew it first,"

"From when? "

"I don't know either, but suddenly it's stage 4,"

"I just felt dizzy and dizzy, I didn't know that the result was like this. All I know is, I can't heal, Pras,"

I realized I was in my mind earlier. Maybe I didn't listen to what he said earlier.

"You say something, brother?"

"No, I'm just asking you for help, that's all,"

"How can I, brother?"

"You can, Pras. It's also for you, you'll get healthier than me" he said expectantly.

"I'm sorry, brother. I can't" I replied firmly.

I stood from where I sat. Too crowded to still be here. Without looking back at him again I walked away.

Brukkkk

I was surprised to see him fall down and not get up again. People around him started to approach him. So do I.

"Sir, what happened to you?"

Fear ran through every rush of my blood. People helped me get him to the nearest hospital. I couldn't say anything more, all I could do was cry looking at her paled face. His hands are also cooling.

"Quick, sir," I don't even care who drove us. I really want this car to go as fast as it can to keep this guy safe. He's too valuable to take now.

He was lying in the care of a doctor. They looked busy inside and I was just watching behind this glass wall. Both of her eyes began to open, I immediately wiped my tears. He smiled at me, raising his hand hinting that he was fine. He looked so weak, somehow enduring the pain in his body. He was still trying to look strong in front of me even though he was now lying there.

"You're his family?" ask the doctor who handled him.

"Yes doc, her parents are not here. If you can tell if the disease can be cured, dok?" I was still trying to calm down even though fear still controlled me.

"I suggest that he is not too exhausted and a lot of thought, we can only pray that the time can be even longer" the doctor said.

"He called you miss" he continued.

I'll approach her soon. He tried to laugh even though he was forced.

"Why are you laughing?" manya irritated.

"I see fear in your face. I realized how worried you were,"

"Do you take everything for granted? Obviously I'm scared, how can you play with my emotions, brother!"

"You'll get used to it, pras. Maybe a few days after the loss, or even a few months we still can't classify. But you have to be able to face reality, Pras," he said.

"Don't talk about missing and going again, brother. I'm sure you'll get well" I said.

"I can't give you that hope, Pras. Every moment this sickness has taken away every second of my life, every second of the time left with you. I still want to live another hundred years, and if I don't, I want my life to be useful. But my first hope could not be real. The second hope you can make for me, Pras," he explained so full of hope. A sincere hope emanated from his eyes.

"Didn't you love me?"

"I love you even more than you know, "he replied.
