Ch 06: Tears

The next morning, Mary woke up with a limp body and puffy eyes. Last night, he couldn't sleep well at all. The trauma of sleeping in bed, always overshadowed his mind. Those bad memories always come when Mary closes her eyes and tries to sleep.

Occasionally sleeping only 5-10 minutes, he woke up again and so on like that. The time is right at 4am. Tired and a little sick, Mary knelt down and folded her arms.

"God... My god.. Why God..?.  What is my sin that You punish me like this" Mary mourned in her prayer.

"I hate myself, I hate everything in my life, I want to die.. I want to die. "the cry of Mary that cannot be contained. The sound of his prayer vaguely held tightness in his chest.

The fear, anger and disgust he vented to himself. Occasionally there is a sense of wanting to kill Rudi and the 3 people who desecrated him. But Mary's tender heart always restrains and strengthens her conscience.

Time goes on and the clock shows at 7 am. Mary did not come out of the room at all.

A knocking sound came from the door of his room. Then Mary opened the door and saw that Mama was standing with food.

"Mar, let's eat first. Want Mama a bribe? 

 Pinta Mama with a soft word.

"Yes ma" answered Mary softly and tears fell on her cheeks

What is this feeling?. Happiness mixed with sadness was stirring in Mary's heart. What because Mama who had been rude and did not care about him, suddenly fed him food.

Tears flowed incessantly as Maria ate. Mom rubbed her daughter's tears.

Suddenly Maria was surprised when she saw tears dripping from her mother.

"Ma why cry?. Maria is strong" said Maria while wiping tears on the cheek of Mama.

"Son.. Ma. ma. "the voice of mama intermittently resisted the crying.

" apologize yes." Mama's cry broke when she said it.

Mary, who heard these words, wept so hard. Hearing her mother's apology was like a refreshing miracle.

"Mama can't see you like this.  When Mama heard what happened to you, Mama's heart was broken." - Mama.

"Sorry Mama yes son, lately Mama is a little upset and restless. How cowardly of your mother to admit wrongdoing". Mama's cry while hitting her chest

   "I'm sorry Mama took out all the hate on you.  Sorry son" cried Mama while looking down, not daring to look at her son's face.

"Ma, Mary never hated Mama, Papa, or anyone else. Maria is aware and understands that Mama has a lot of pressure and thoughts". Mary answered, lifting her mother's face and embracing her.

It was a day that Mary could not forget. Because of this incident, Papa and Mama who often quarrel can finally reconcile and unite to fight for Mary.

That day went on quietly, Papa and Mama, discussing this matter with Ms. Tika who is a representative of the Women & Children Protection Agency.

The next day, my 1st classmate Maria came to visit. He was the only friend who was always there for him.

"Mar.. Mary "call Sisca and knock on the door of Mary's house.

Shortly after, Mama opened the door.

"Who? " ask Mama.

"Excuse me aunt, I'm Sisca. Schoolmate Maria"

"Where is he at the house? ask Sisca back

"There's inside.. You must have been Maria in 1st grade, huh? " ask Mama to make sure

"Tell me, I won 1st grade first" Sisca replied a little scared.

Mary told everything to Sisca.  All the sadness, the past even the attitude of his parents who did not care.

Because of that, Sisca was a little afraid when she finally met directly with Mama.

Fortunately, Sisca once went home with Maria to see where she lived. But he did not dare to enter. But because of that, Sisca could know where Mary lived.

"Maria is in the upper room, you go straight there. Room 2 on the right". Ask your mom to point to the stairs.

"Yes, thank you. I'm in ya" permit Sisca to go up the stairs.

Mama just nodded and closed the door.  Quickly, Sisca went up and knocked on Maria's door. Mary immediately opened the door and hugged her only friend tightly while crying as she pleased

"Loh Mar, what's wrong with you?.  Is it very sick?.  Tortured?? " ask Sisca worried.

Mary could only cry and be angry.

5 minutes later, Maria was finally able to calm down and was able to tell everything to Sisca. Throughout the conversation, Mary was always crying and could not help holding everything back. Sisca who heard that tried hard and did not cry in front of her friend.

"I'm sorry Sis, I didn't say it or say goodbye to you" Maria said.

"Have" answered Sisca, stroking Mary's shoulders, calming her down.

"Trus is your plan what Mar? " ask Sisca

"Tomorrow me, both my parents and Ms. Tika . from the service will go to school and meet the Headmaster" 

"Congs can't come? "

    "No need for Sis, you learn as you always do."

"Yes, but the cave will always standby support you Mar" supported Sisca and she embraced Maria.

The sun was already sinking, and it was time for Sisca to go home and prepare for tomorrow.

The next day, Maria and her parents and Ms. Tika came to school. Soon they head to the principal's room to meet with Mr. Anji.

The murmuring of the students was heard throughout the school hallway. None of the disciples were compassionate and tried to support Mary. Maria was confused and agitated.

"What this news has spread in the school environment" thought Maria.

Arriving in front of the headmaster's room, how surprised they had seen Rudi and his father sitting and laughing with Anji sir.

The mood changed as Maria came in. Mr. Anji's face became serious and gripping.

Maria's feelings are not good. As if he knew what was going to happen. Her body trembled slightly as she looked and even one room with Rudi.

Maria, Mama, and Papa are surprised to find that Rudi's father is Kuncoro a board member and has a high position. Moreover, his father is a donor of SMP Cendana.

But this did not make Ms. Tika tremble. He strongly requested that the discussion be held immediately. There was a look on the face of Pak Kuncoro who was focused and intimidated Bu Tika.

"All right, introduce me Tika Rahayu, a representative of the Child & Women Protection Service, on this day to ask for permission to open a discussion about the abuse of Rudi's brother against sister Maria" said Bu Tika.

"Daustralia. I didn't hear wrong. How can you tell me if my child is being abused? " tanya Kuncoro cut the conversation in a harsh tone

"How dare you. You lowly officer, just tell me to shut up" Kuncoro snapped and hit the table in front of him hard.

Suddenly everyone was surprised, but Bu Tika did not budge in the least

"Already Mr. Kuncoro, let's hear first" the Headmaster courteously pleaded with fear.

Without a second thought, Ms. Tika explained all the sitting things from beginning to end. But Kuncoro just smiled and asked where the evidence that his son had harassed Maria. Ms. Tika is aware that they do not have physical evidence of abuse such as footage or video.

And even so, Maria went on a visa and managed to prove the sexual violence that befell her. It would not provide any solid evidence that Rudi or the three people who were with him that night did so.

Throughout the conversation, Mama and Papa said nothing. They tried to calm down and understand everything before acting far away. The discussion that day, did not produce anything. When they came out of the KepSek room, Rudi and his father were still inside. Maria caught a glimpse of Rudi smiling faintly at him

"How is this Mom? " ask Mama

"Please ma'am, at least we have said an important point" replied Ms. Tika

"But I was a little worried, looking at KepSek who seemed to be one-sided" added Bu Tika.

"Did you know that Rudi's father was a member of the council?" maria asked suspiciously.

"Then is this the reason why only Ms Tika is the one who accompanied me? " ask Mary again

"Yes Maria. Right.. Although our success rate is only 1%, but I did not give up, son. We leave it all to God" replied Ms. Tika while calming Mary.

On the other side of the school..

Women's Toilet.

A student in the bathroom was sitting holding a cellphone with her hands trembling slightly.

"What should I do with this video. I did not expect that following Rudi would get this heinous incident" thought the anxious student.

"Anjani come, why do you long in the dalem. Cepetan.!! " shouted another girl from outside.

Soon Anjani turns off the video and comes out of the toilet.
