It turns out that under the foot of the hill, there is a river that flows. However, what makes Aril say hamdalah not because of the existence of the tributary. But because his eyes caught some trees growing there.
"There's a cassava tree, Bas!" said Aril, while developing a smile.
"Yes, it turns out there's a cassava tree here. It must have belonged to one of the farmers" replied Basri pretentiously.
There was joy in Basri's heart. Perhaps, the joy he felt, exceeded the joy that Aril felt. It's about food. Something Basri had expected from earlier.
Tonight they will not go hungry, there is already a food source that they will enjoy.
The fear and anxiety that had been entrenched in Basri's heart, had now vanished out of nowhere, because of seeing the cassava tree.
"You brought a lighter?" ask Aril.
"There!" Basri checked the pocket he had in his pants, then took out the gas match he always carried. The match he lifted in front of his face.
"The cigarette's still there, but the cigarette's up." Basri lit the match, with his mouth developing a smile.
"Important match. What do cigarettes do? Just ruining health!" reply Aril. A smile also spread on his lips.
Aril said so because he was not a smoker. Unlike Basri, although not a heavy smoker, but he always pocketed a cigarette if hunting with Tarjo group.
Especially the gas matches. This one never got out of his pocket. Must be taken everywhere. Basri has his own tricks. When you have a match, usually like there is a fortune approaching.
Sneak in the form of a cigarette.
There are people who borrow matches to ignite cigarettes. If so, Basri will be offered a cigarette from the person who borrowed the match earlier. Basri will not refuse.
If they do not offer, Basri asks for it. Therefore, Basri prefers pocketing matches rather than cigarettes.
"Tonight we will eat cassava. Something very pleasant, can burn cassava in the open. Especially when the moon is full." Aril said as he looked up at the sky. Look at the smiling moon.
"Come, we'll take it!" bring Basri. It seemed like he was already impatient, to uproot some cassava trees, which thrived on the sidelines of times.
"Come on!" Aril agrees.
The two young men went down a fairly sloping stretch of land. It only takes a moment for them to reach the location overgrown with cassava trees.
The cassava tree grows irregularly, it can be concluded that the plant includes wild plants, aka no one to plant. Just grow up.
Moments later, they were busy uprooting the cassava tree. There was no more fear in their hearts, even though they were now in the middle of the forest.
Two very brave young men.
Perhaps the courage is caused by the mentality of those who have been honed as a hunter.
But, most likely the courage was caused by their own minds, who were busy fantasizing about the pleasure of burnt cassava. So they forget what they call fear.
Or, maybe it's because tonight the atmosphere is so bright. Almost like noon. For the full moon, as if accompanying them, poured out all its rays upon the surface of the earth.
Not to mention the millions of stars above the sky. The cluster of stars, too, contributes light, to help the moon illuminate the universe.
"Already, Bas ... This is enough for us to eat together!" exclaiming Aril.
Basri parsed his intention, as he was about to uproot one more cassava tree, which was quite large.
"Where are we gonna burn this cassava?" basri asked with a gaze towards Aril, after he sheathed the machete into his nest. While his mouth was still engrossed in chewing the raw cassava that he was neglecting.
"We go across the river. To the foot of that hill! We need to find the cave first, for where we belong. We burn this cassava on the doorstep of that cave later. Let binat4ng savage or other venomous binat4ng avoid from there," replied Aril explained.
What Aril said was immediately approved by Basri, without much protest as was his custom. Maybe it happened because of the cassava between them.
Basri's eyes looked at the creek they were about to cross.
The creek was not so big, only in the form of small times with clear water. Maybe about a meter wide.
With such a size, it is certainly not difficult for the two young men to cross it, even though in their hands there are some large cassava bongkah.
Once a leap, they had moved across time.
Across the way, they thinned the side of the rock's foothills, which were caved in like rocks.
A basin between the stones shaped like a cave. That's the place they chose to go through the night.
The door is not too big, its diameter may not be more than one meter. But Aril believes, the room in the cave is quite spacious.
"Borrow your cleaver!" said Aril, after he put his luggage in front of the cave door.
Basri also put the cassava in his hand in the same place, putting it together with the cassava that Aril brought earlier.
After the machete changed hands, Aril picked up a dried coconut midrib, which was scattered around there.
Aril separates the coconut leaves from the branches, while Basri holds the coconut leaves together in a bond, forming a torch.
After getting some bonding, they burn the ends. The place was getting brighter, when the tip of the torch had been devoured by fire.
With a torch in hand, Aril examined the inside of the cave. The inside of the cave is quite large. Very relieved, when they use to sleep together. Moreover, there were no animals they saw inside the cave.
The basic part of the cave, just a flat expanse of rock, without any grass, not even dust there.
"We should look for leaves, or anything that we can use for bedding first. Also some trees to cover the door of this cave," suggested Aril, after they finished inspecting the inside of the cave.
"Rubber! We should make this place as comfortable as possible to sleep, and protected from the interference of the savage bin4tang." Basri confirmed what Aril said.
The two young men began to gather twigs and leaves to light a fire. It didn't take long, just a few minutes later, a fairly large bonfire had lit up in front of the cave.
With the help of the light of the bonfire and the torch in hand, Aril and Basri began to tidy up the cave. They also fumigate the inside of the cave, to repel mosquitoes or binat4ng that may still be there.
After giving the base to the cave, then they put together some wood of medium size, in small bonds, in the form of bars.
The wooden tie in the form of bars is what they will use to close the door of the cave, to be safe from the interference of the savage bin4tang when they sleep.
While at work, Basri asks Aril what happened to Aril during his disappearance in the middle of the forest.
Aril told his story while in the forest. But, that story he corals himself, aka lying.
Aril did not tell about Lubuk Agung village and Pak Sarwo family in Basri. Because, Aril does not want to be flocked by strange questions by Basri who likes kepo.
Not so long ago, what they were doing was done. After checking it, and sure of the safety of the place they will use, then they burn cassava.
They took some of the hot coals and ashes that were in the campfire, then stockpiled cassava with embers and hot ash. That's how they burn cassava.
"Burning cassava in this way is old ripening, but it tastes more savory and delicious" said Basri, as they were stockpiling the cassava with hot coals and ash. Aril confirmed what Basri said.
"Are you still hungry?" ask Aril.
"Yes!" Basri.
"And you've eaten raw cassava. Where much more! How are you still hungry?" Aril asked while letting go of a smile.
Basri ate some raw cassava. But, it turned out that it did not make his hunger disappear.
"Where can be full eating raw cassava, which there is also a snatch," replied Basri, who was greeted with laughter by Aril.
"While waiting for cassava to ripen, how about we find fish? Count the side dishes" proposed Basri, a moment later.
"All right!" Aril agrees.
Before they went to Kali, Aril closed the cave door with the wooden bars they had made earlier. That he did to prevent bin4tang from entering the cave, as long as they were gone.
After being convinced of the security of the cave door, the two young men of responsibility walked in tandem, with burning torches in their hands.
The light that the torch was giving off, made the atmosphere around them even brighter.
Not a few meters away they left the cave door, a white creature appeared there. The creature suddenly stood in front of the cave. I don't know where it came from.
For a moment the creature watched the wooden bars that closed the cave door. His head lowered, even bowing, as if scanning the closed door of the cave.
