Level Up Monster

Level Up Monster
Chapters 13.2

It was at night. With a towering full moon, a large crowd of people had camped out on the low Tier Monster hunting ground. But it's not just human. There are also many trucks, antennas, cameras and microphones that are not usually seen in places like this; in other words, they are news crews and accompanying vehicles. Under the inquisitive gazes of one or two spectators, the reporters were all busy reporting something while being protected by the Knights.

"…. Can you tell me what's going on here?"

Sae-Jin carefully approaches one of the Knights on duty and asks. He took the Human Form and ran all the way here, having suddenly caught the smell of so many people and was shocked by it.

"This is to make a report. You probably heard the rumors too, right? They said it was a Spirit Beast or something. Clearly it was nonsense. But right now, what about the emotionally draining people and all, things like this .. Tsk, tsk. "

The knight who was usually placed around this passage clicked his tongue irritated as if he did not like being called out in the middle of the night.

There is this hot new story on the Internet as well as various newspapers. It was about a certain Grey Wolf that turned into an Ebony Wolf – a story about the Beast. The story comes to life after three Hunters gave clear and concise eyewitness testimony and uploaded photographs of the rest of the Jaguar Orcs to the Hunters Cafe.

The Hunters were all talking about the event where, after the Gray Wolf helped them defeat the Jaguar Orc, its body suddenly became colored by a blue light, then all of its fur turned black.

Eyewitnesses suspected that this wolf was one of those growth-type Monsters, but as the story spread like wildfire, people, including so-called experts, were told, deducing from the creature's actions that it must be a Spirit Beast.

Simple reason. Monsters try to devour humans, but this particular wolf helps them. And after the passage about the changing color of the fur was emphasized, certain persuasive speculations became an attraction where one wonders if this wolf was the same one who saved Hunter Kim Tae-Jo back then.

"What would happen if this wolf appeared?"

Sae-Jin carefully asks again.

"Maybe nothing more than being shot by a camera."

"Huh ... So it won't be hunted?"

"Fuhut. Hey, Mr. Diligent Hunter, I'm getting your dedication to your work, but if we try anything here, society will crucify us all."

"G . "

"But humans, among us, aren't these news reporters people that stupid? I mean, wolves are very restless creatures, so why cause so much commotion as a group ….?"

The Knight stopped talking and looked around. The hunter he was talking to just now suddenly disappeared.

"Where'd he go?"

He had just dropped the problem and shifted his focus back to guarding duty.

The original goal was to make an approximate film of the location where the Spirit Beast appeared while hoping that not much would happen, so when everything was done, the reporters prepared to pack up and leave.

But at that time too.

Awoooooo.... . – Awoooo …. !!

The wolf's screams echoed loudly in the air. The cameraman was busy filling the van with equipment and the female reporter who climbed into the passenger seat all stopped in surprise and quickly turned her head towards the direction the voice came from.

And they saw a lone wolf, framed by a full moon on its back on top of a nearby mountain peak, staring back at them. A dignified attitude that no wolf could possibly possess, the majestic body was filled with confidence. A black fur coat that seemed to glow softly under the moonlight, and a pair of brightly lit golden eyes. And finally, a mysterious howl that could shake their souls.

"…."

The wolf was not a tiger, but everyone gathered here could definitely feel the same way. The wolf that proudly surveyed the land here must have been "Sangun". (TL: it is a Hanja word which means several things – one, which means mountain guard, two, literally ferocious tiger, and MC of webver Naver, Brother Tiger Bar Khan. I think the author means the first two, so left as is.)

"…. Hey, wake up !! It has started filming !!"

The bewildered members of the press began to move in haste. They raised the camera and started looking for the best angle to capture the view of the arrogant creature.

"Well…"

The Knight who was mocking the humiliation just now was silenced as he stared at the distant wolf. He sneered and said there was no such thing as a Spirit Beast. But even he could not call the creature a monster. Of course, not after seeing this inexplicable aura of divinity wrapped around the Wolf.

"!!"

"H, hey !!"

"What what the fuck?!"

Suddenly there was a collective cry of shock. Not satisfied with just his appearance alone, there were several blue-colored wisps of Mana appearing around the wolf like the ghostly flames of the Underworld.

"D, d, do you understand ?? Hey, I said, did you record it?"

It would be a big scoop if recorded in a movie. A man who looked like a producer or director shouted loudly while making a surprised expression. Hearing this shout, the cameraman nodded his face which was still in a daze but at the same time …

"Hey, where did it go ?!"

As if the previous event was just a passing dream, the presence of the Wolf had disappeared completely.
