The Deep Sadness

"Excuse me doc, the patient's condition has drop. His heart rate is unstable." Says one of the nurses interrupted Alex and Dr. Herman.

The doctor nodded quickly and immediately entered Calvin's room.

"Calvin ..," said Jenni, looking at the closed door again as the doctor walked into the room.

"Relax baby, Calvin's gonna make it. Pray that it will heal soon." Said Alex. Although she also panicked, but would not show in front of Jenni that would further worry the woman.

"Calvin, it's all my fault. Had Calvin not approached Bella to save me, she would not have become like this." Jenni cried softly.

"No, honey, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself."

Jenni did not reply to Alex's words, but her face continued to look down as the tears continued to drip unable to hold her.

While in the room, the doctor was trying to save Calvin.

"Tit tit tit ...," The monitor sounds loud, a sign that Calvin's heartbeat is abnormal.

"Prepare defribilator!" The doctor ordered with a panicked expression.

The nurse nodded, then handed the pacemaker to the doctor.

Seen three times the doctor gave stimulation to Calvin's body, but did not respond.

It was so loud that Calvin's body-detecting monitor made Jenni and Alex gasp for the sound inside.

Suddenly the monitor screen showed a straight line, "Patient Calvin Abrisam Lemos, at 14:15 pm was pronounced dead, with a diagnosis of bleeding in the brain due to severe injury." The doctor said in a trembling voice, he had failed to save one life.

"How's Calvin doing, doc." Alex asked no less anxiously when he saw the doctor coming out of the room with sweat flooding his forehead and temples.

"I'm sorry sir, we've tried our best. But, God has other plans." The doctor said while breathing out.

"Doctor mean, what?" Alex asked with a scared face.

"Once again we apologize sir, son Calvin we can't save." The doctor was sad. As a doctor, he felt a failure because he could not save the lives of his patients, but maybe this was his way.

Man can only strive, regarding destiny, let God determine.

Life and death are destiny, no matter how well man designed it, but God is the best architect and certainly has a better design than man himself.

"So, you mean the doctor, Calvin died?" As much as possible Alex held her eyes back from crying.

In that very second, his knees were limp as if he was no longer able to support his strapping body. He was devastated, the child whom he had considered to be his own child for several days must first face the creator.

In fact, he already had a wonderful plan for the future of the child. Alex promises to make him a great man who will help take care of his company.

Alex regrets not always being nice to the boy. Although Alex looks good in front of Calvin, but he can not be denied that his heart has not fully accepted the presence of Calvin.

He does not know about their problems, but must be affected by the problems of adults.

Alex walks into the room while pushing Jenni's wheelchair.

Since Jenni was so hard to talk, she could only cry sobbing but was too muddy of her lips to say.

"I'm sorry Daddy, Calvin." Alex spoke softly while in front of Calvin's corpse wrapped in a white cloth.

This time Alex's legs were completely unable to support, his body slumped to the floor while sobbing.

He remembers his moments with Calvin, the boy always showed his joy to anyone.

Alex imagined how when Calvin laughed, when the boy continued to chatter about his excitement when meeting his playmates, and there are still many memories that continue to cross his mind.

No different from Jenni, the woman also felt the loss of a child. So far.

Jenni is very close to Calvin, he already considers her as his own son.

Jenni also recalled the first time she met the boy, who was running around the street near the apartment.

He still remembered how funny Calvin was, when the boy asked him to be his wife when he grew up.

He recalled that Calvin had asked for permission to call Jenni mommy, but Jenni did not respond to Calvin's request because she was uncomfortable.

And now, Jenni feels guilty. He did not give her permission, but just wanted to call himself mommy.

"I'm sorry mommy, Calvin."Jenni opened her voice. His voice sounded soft and trembling, while his tears could not be contained since then.

"I'm sorry Mommy was mean to you, Calvin." He again cried bitterly considering how evil he who did not accept the child called his mommy, whereas in the bottom of his heart, he already regarded Calvin as his own son.

"Dear, you've never been bad to Calvin. You're a good surrogate mother to her." Finally Alex realized from his sadness, he got up and hugged his wife who was crying.

The two hugged each other while looking at Calvin's lifeless body with tears running down.

Calvin's shadow continued to fill the memory of the two of them, like a cassette replayed, very clearly visible pieces of memory without being left behind a single incident.

They both felt a deep sadness. If it could be exchanged for all that Alex, of course he would give it for Calvin's life.

Unfortunately, not bargaining for the age set by God, until man can only surrender and can no longer avoid the name of death.
