Chapter 9: The Attack at the Auction

Entering the final auction session. My bear skin sold for 500 gold plates

My foaming skin is not of high quality said the Ego? Stupid, in my wildest imagination though, I could never imagine being able to have that kind of money.

But after knowing seeing the price difference, I seemed to have completely destroyed the precious item. I'm ruining the value of an item.

Belang Bear skin does describe the stoutness for people who have it. Just imagine, in addition to Belang Bear is an animal that falls into the category of Monster, Belang Bear is also very rare, difficult to find. Even if you find it, you can't live after that.

In addition, his skin was also quite resistant to fire and slashes, so one needed to master a high-level sword technique or a powerful Magic formula in order to pierce through that skin.

By the way, Ego says this last item is an Ego item, I don't know what it is. But, seeing the host leave the stage for a while, it was likely that this item was worth it. Although I don't know what the connection is between the precious item and the departure of the host.

I waited as I plucked the fruits in the crystal basin prepared for Ego, occasionally gulping down the drink that Ego had ordered.

The drinks are good, the alcohol content seems to be very low, or maybe even none at all. What did the waiter say? A cocktail? A mocktail? I don't know, let's just forget it.

The host finally returned to the stage.

“Guests, forgive me for there are some things I need to do with today's last item. Please apologize profusely for making you wait a long time.”

A display covered in white cloth was pushed by four women escorted by several Soldiers. It seems Ego is right, this item is rarer than the Belang Bear skin. Until making the soldiers escort this thing.

“Alright, here's who we're waiting for. The last item of this auction. Prepare to be surprised ladies and gentlemen! Here it is!”

The four women lifted the white cloth that became the cover of the display. Guests in the executive ranks stood up from their seats, and I saw the Prince standing up from his long sofa and dropping his diamond glass with an expression of disbelief.

“Do you know what is in front of you right now?!”

The host pointed at an event, or should I call it a lump? The size of one fist, pearly white and emitting light.

“I-it ... Isn't that Ether?! And judging from the color, isn't that an incredible amount of Mana?!” An executive guest called out in disbelief.

“Hard to believe! But that Ether quality is no joke!” Another executive guest.

I've also heard of Ether before, with 8 tiers of color indicating the amount of Mana contained in it. The green color is the lowest and the pearl white color is the highest level, and it is this highest level that is before these people now.

The entire hall suddenly fussed, those who had money stirred up from not expecting such a valuable item could appear at the auction located in this small town.

While those who can not afford to buy each other shiny words about those who have Ether residues, or Ether relics of the ancestors are.

“Inopening price for this item. 500 rhodium plate!”

“510!” An executive guest exclaimed with a loudspeaker.

“620!” Followed by the others.

“650!”

“800.” That's the Prince's voice.

“1.000.” The mysterious masked boy was bidding at an insane price.

“1.500.” The prince did not want to lose.

“1.700.” The boy again raised the price.

“1.950.” Princes.

“2.500.” Mystery boy.

“15.000.” Mystery boy.

****** abis. With that much money, one could build a magnificent Mansion. No, even with that kind of money it might be able to reach the Castle class.

“Ada can afford more than this?!” The host provoked the attendees who were in the hall, yet it seemed like there was no longer anyone who could afford to offer a higher price. The prince also seemed to lose interest.

“Sold!”

Everyone applauded in admiration. It wasn't the prince or the high-class Nobles who bought this last item. But it was a mysterious boy who looked sick.

“Marvelous! Can we know the name of this charismatic Young Master?!”

The host asked enthusiastically, the entire spotlight focused on the balcony where the boy was sitting, leaving one to highlight the host. Even the prince was as if he had never been here, everyone had forgotten about him.

“Pack that Ether and immediately hand it over to our Knight unit.” One of the boy's bodyguards raised their voice, they really looked very haughty and cool. Then they just left.

The boy was obviously from a noble family, and the fact that they had Knights said that they were not from a lowly noble family.

“Ah ... Haha ... Understood ... Alright, ladies and gentlemen, it seems like our special guest this time is so busy that it cannot answer questions that are not important.” The host wiped the sweat off his forehead.

“That's it! Finally, today's auction has ended! Looking forward to the auction we will be holding next month! Thank you and see you!”

The audience exclaimed in excitement, although there were some of them who were still fixated on confusion, either because of the appearance of unexpected items or because of their fantastic selling price.

Then one by one the audience began to move from their respective seats, partially walking towards the door on the side of the hall, they were the ones who wanted to make payment for the items they chose.

The people who came out regularly from the hall were still talking about the auction in astonished tones. They were talking about how the Prince of the Human Kingdom could be in this city, or about the young master who had just bought the last item, completely excited.

Suddenly an explosive sound came from the direction of the auction item storage room.

People shouted in panic, the bodyguards immediately protected their respective masters. I turned towards Ego to see his reaction, but he looked relaxed and completely motionless from his seat.

“What happened?” My toot.

“There may be a group of thieves trying to retrieve valuables at this auction house.” Answer's relaxed.

“You don't want to take care of them?”

“Create what? After all, the guard at this auction house cannot be underestimated, plus the boy who bought Ether was carrying his Knight unit right? Not to mention the Prince. It must be beyond the estimation of the thieves.”

Makes sense.

“Alright, because now we have a lot of money, we will take our money and have a little fun then continue the journey.”

Ego moved from his seat, I followed him from behind. Guessing the money I got from this auction.

"When did you file that last item?" I asked the Ego. "Maybe about ten days ago, when you were still unconscious".

It meant that he brought the item at the auction once he saved me from the disaster in Iria city.

"Keep why didn't you tell me you were the seller of that item when you handed the bear's skin?" My toot.

"I'll use another identity".

True too, just now the city gate became noisy because we brought striped Bear skin, I don't know what if the auction people knew that Ego was selling Ether earlier.

"You find an inn there, I'll take my money at the auction, I'll take it". He walked the other way, it seemed like he was heading towards the auction headquarters. I immediately exited the auction building complex, my next mission is to find an inn.
