- Bankruptcy and Betrayed
About eight years ago, I was an architecture student at one of the colleges in Jakarta. I who come from a small town in Central Java that is famous for its batik craft, Pekalongan, actually want to study in an area close to home. But my father, who was a batik master in his village, wanted me to get a good education. So he sent me to college in Jakarta.
I live in a boarding house close to my campus. One year I studied there, my life was ordinary. The days I spent going to college and occasionally going out with my best friend, Diva. She's not a rookie student, so I know a lot about Jakarta for being friends with her.
The second year I studied, there was a man who began to approach me. Name's Reza. He's a good guy. He's two years above me. He's a final semester business student.
Actually I don't intend to be in a relationship with anyone. Because I just wanted to focus on college and make my parents proud. Especially if I am an only child. Of course I have to carry my family name well.
But Reza's persistence has finally brought me down. I accept his feelings. We do the usual things like everyone else does when we are with a partner. Eating, watching, taking a walk, all classic.
One day my father suddenly called me and asked me to come home.
I'll be home soon. And how surprised I was when my dad told me that his batik business went bankrupt.
I was so shocked at the time. I decided to quit college because I didn't want to burden my mom and dad.
But my father insisted on paying for my college. He borrowed money from a wealthy man in our village, named the manager Sugiharto.
My father sent me back to Jakarta. But I really don't want to be a burden to my father. I decided to move to a cheaper house.
I also had to find a job because I didn't want my father to owe the boss more and more.
I wanted to tell Reza about my problem. Do not all lovers often complain together?
I'm looking for Reza at his rented house. I haven't seen him in a long time because I'm back home.
When I got to Reza's rented house, I saw Diva's car there. Diva includes the children of rich people. His father was a businessman.
At first I did not feel suspicious. Because the three of us often go together. I'm still a little uncomfortable if I have to go alone with Reza, so I always take Diva.
Maybe that's where my mistake lies. When our best friend is close to our partner, he can betray us.
And it turns out that all of that is true. My heart was completely broken when I saw with my own eyes they were making out in the room without a single thread covering their bodies. I shut my mouth as if I couldn't believe they would do this to me.
I ran out of Reza's contract. Reza, who saw me coming, immediately chased me in shorts.
I slapped him. I'm so mad at him. How could he betray me with my best friend. A friend I consider like a brother.
I don't want to hear any explanation from Reza. And soon we finally broke up. Rezapun finally continues his relationship with Diva. And I'm no longer his best friend.
I'm sick of seeing both of them's faces. I was devastated at that time. But when I remembered the faces of my father and mother, I immediately got up. I have to be strong for them.

I racked my brain how I could make money. At midnight, I always catch my roommate always coming home late at night. I started to wonder what his job was until I always came home in the middle of the night.
She is Miss Siska, she is 3 years above me. That morning I tried to go to her room. He welcomed me well.
I expressed my intention to find a job. I asked him who knew there was work for me.
At that time he said, if I was still a student, he doubted whether I could work like him or not. Because she sees me as a good girl.
What does that mean for a good girl? Does that mean she's not a good girl?
I don't get it. But I'm not discouraged. I tried to convince Ms. Siska if I could work anything. I saw Ma'am Siska leaving in the afternoon and coming home late at night. I explained to her, I spent my morning with college, so I could only work in the afternoon until evening.
Siska agreed to help me. He tried to contact his friend Erna.
And luckily, there was a job opening where Erna worked. I'm so grateful to Ms. Siska.
Then that night, I started to go to work. Erna explained that my job was as a waitress in a nightclub. I nodded in understanding.
I work at a nightclub called Miracle. Which means a miracle. I wish all this was a miracle to me.
I worked there for almost a month. I started enjoying it. Although sometimes, I get passionate gazes from the men who come there.
Finally I know, if the image of the woman of the night is closely associated with things leading to negative things. But I can still take good care of myself. Erna also took care of me and didn't let the striped-nose men come near me.
Until finally, there was one man who took my eyes off me and kept looking at her. He is Rocky Abraham.
He's a regular customer at our nightclub. I only found out after hearing stories from my fellow servants.
I see he always comes alone and drinks his own wine. I kept noticing that the look in his eyes was a look of sadness.
I began to wonder what makes a perfect man like him sad. Then I finally knew, if he was heartbroken because of the loss of his lover. How unfortunate. Thought.
His fate is the same as mine who is also heartbroken. I feel sorry to see it. He looks very frustrated.
That means if he loves that woman very much. Who's the lucky lady? Which broke her heart.
Even though my friends at the club say he's a big-time playboy in town. But I don't see that in him.
Where is a playboy who suffered so much after being abandoned by his girlfriend? That means he loved that woman so much and lost her so much.
Hearing my own theory made me want to be loved that way. Loved sincerely and deeply.
